We heavily use EKS, RDS Aurora, AmazonMQ, S3 and EventBridge in our platform architecture. We practise continuous deployment and release new versions of Kraken around 200 times per day.\n\n\nEngineering standards are high. We pair program, thoroughly review and test code before it deploys, and maintain fast, high-value test suites. We have weekly tech talks, a day a month devoted to sharpening our internal tools, upgrading dependencies, paying off technical debt - we call it โspa dayโ - and we can often be found at tech meet-ups and conferences.\n\n\nMany of our coding conventions are open-source and we maintain a tech blog. Just ask us! On a call with one of our recruiters it's something we always cover as we genuinely want to match your experience with the correct salary. The reason why we don't advertise is because we honestly have a degree of flexibility and would never want salary to be a reason why someone doesn't apply to Octopus - what's more important to us is finding the right octofit!\n* Octopus Energy is a unique culture. An organisation where people learn, decide, and build quicker. Where people work with autonomy, alongside a wide range of amazing co-owners, on projects that break new ground. \nThe team at Jellyfish is changing how product development happens, helping engineering teams learn how to work together and communicate more effectively. Weโre in search of a front-end engineer whoโs passionate about improving the user experience, learning from customers, and delivering high-quality code to make it happen. Ideally, youโve worked on a SaaS product in the past using React and are as comfortable working in partnership with product and design on feature discovery as you are putting together the ideas into code. This is a great opportunity to be a member of an exceptional engineering organization with high agency: where you can help shape the features your team builds and how your team builds them.\n\nIf this sounds exciting, weโd love to hear from you.\n\nWhat youโll do:\n\n\n* Develop beautiful, robust user interfaces using React, TypeScript, and Ant Design components\n\n* Be eager to experiment, iterate, and learn quickly as we work to simplify our app and make it more dynamic and personalized\n\n* Design, plan, and implement key features as part of a highly effective team\n\n* Parse, understand, and if desired, participate in customer research and discovery to make better and more informed product and technical decisions \n\n* Communicate effectively about project status, technical issues, and breaking down work\n\n* Engage in your teamโs processes and work to continually improve your teamโs capabilities\n\n* Provide technical and product expertise within your team and across the organization\n\n* Actively participate in a culture supportive of growth and inclusion on your team\n\n\n\n\nAbout you:\n\n\n* Strive to understand your users well and have experience adapting a product based on eagerly seeking out their feedback\n\n* Know how to build and support production web applications\n\n* Strong programming experience with expertise in at least one web framework, and are open-minded and excited to learn new ones\n\n* Visual design sensibility in addition to being a hands-on builder\n\n* Curious and great at asking questions, figuring out what needs to be done, building consensus, and executing\n\n* Considerate of both the needs of the user and the needs of the business when designing a solution\n\n* Love learning new things and sharing knowledge with others\n\n* Strong communication skills, and enjoy working as part of a team\n\n* Located in EST or CST time zone\n\n\n\n\nBonus points if:\n\n\n* Experience building visualizations for applications that ingest, process, and analyze large amounts of data\n\n* You can contribute in areas of the stack besides the front end, or have interest in building some capabilities there\n\n* Familiarity with usability testing and optimization\n\n* Previous experience in a fast-changing startup before and loved it\n\n\n\n\nA list of job experiences and qualification requirements is great, but humility, a performance-driven attitude, and a team-player approach are most important to us. We love to have fun and win in the process. We only hire people who have a passion for building great companies in an environment where a sense of humor is a must.\n\nLetโs talk about us!\n\nThis is all about you, but you want to know a little about us. Jellyfish was started in 2017 as a team of three with one big idea: engineering is the core of modern business, so letโs create and manage it that way! With the help of our customers, we have built the first Engineering Management Platform, providing visibility into engineering organizations, their work, and how they operate. We enable leaders to align engineering decisions with business initiatives and deliver the right software efficiently and on time. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
