Remote Staff Software Engineer React Native
\nAbout the role\n\nThe Product Engineering team at Afresh is responsible for building out the suite of products that our customers use every day, whether it’s an individual produce manager looking to order their store’s groceries for the day, corporate supervisors looking to view individual store performance, or everything in between. Grocers rely on these solutions within Afresh’s Fresh Operating System to improve the accuracy and efficiency of their workflows, all contributing to our goal of reducing food waste.\n\nYou will be playing a key role in building out these solutions for our customers. Our team and products are growing at a rapid pace, which means that there will be plenty of opportunities for ownership and making your impact felt. Some of your responsibilities will include:\n\n\n* Directly impact our mission of reducing fresh food waste by working on products to enable grocers to better manage and optimize fresh food merchandising and supply chain.\n\n* Own and build new features and capabilities in our React Native mobile application that will have a massive impact on our business.\n\n* Architect and scale our React Native mobile application from a small handful of users up to our entire customer base.\n\n* Work flexibly on our API to develop new interfaces and drive business logic from our backend in collaboration with our backend, data, and ML engineering functions.\n\n* Build tools and foundations, such as design systems, to empower multiple teams of engineers and designers to build and iterate on our React Native mobile application.\n\n* Partner with our product and design teams to deliver rich and engaging user experiences.\n\n* Mentor and coach engineers of a variety of levels of experience.\n\n\n\n\nSkills and experience\n\nThe following represents attributes our ideal candidate possesses. We encourage all highly qualified candidates to apply, even if they do not fulfill all the listed criteria.\n\n\n* BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience\n\n* 6+ years of professional software engineering experience building front-end applications\n\n* 3+ years working on production-level React Native mobile applications\n\n* Proficiency in working with TypeScript and developing APIs. Prior experience with GraphQL preferred\n\n* Ability to debug and resolve issues spanning front-end (React Native) and back-end (GraphQL) components, ensuring a robust and reliable user experience\n\n* Experience acting as a tech lead on complex cross-functional projects\n\n* Experience with architecting and leading the development of highly scaled and reliable mobile applications\n\n* Experience with performance and optimization problems and a demonstrated ability to both diagnose and prevent these problems\n\n* Demonstrated capacity to clearly and concisely communicate about complex technical, architectural, and/or organizational problems and propose solutions\n\n* Demonstrated ability to facilitate cross-team work and knowledge sharing on the web frontend domain across company/department\n\n* Proven ability to mentor and coach others, resulting in a significant improvement in their capabilities\n\n\n\n\nSalary Band in CAD:\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
