Remote Staff Software Engineer React Native\nAbout the role\n\nThe Product Engineering team at Afresh is responsible for building out the suite of products that our customers use every day, whether it’s an individual produce manager looking to order their store’s groceries for the day, corporate supervisors looking to view individual store performance, or everything in between. Grocers rely on these solutions within Afresh’s Fresh Operating System to improve the accuracy and efficiency of their workflows, all contributing to our goal of reducing food waste.\n\nYou will be playing a key role in building out these solutions for our customers. Our team and products are growing at a rapid pace, which means that there will be plenty of opportunities for ownership and making your impact felt. Some of your responsibilities will include:\n\n\n* Directly impact our mission of reducing fresh food waste by working on products to enable grocers to better manage and optimize fresh food merchandising and supply chain.\n\n* Own and build new features and capabilities in our React Native mobile application that will have a massive impact on our business.\n\n* Architect and scale our React Native mobile application from a small handful of users up to our entire customer base.\n\n* Work flexibly on our API to develop new interfaces and drive business logic from our backend in collaboration with our backend, data, and ML engineering functions.\n\n* Build tools and foundations, such as design systems, to empower multiple teams of engineers and designers to build and iterate on our React Native mobile application.\n\n* Partner with our product and design teams to deliver rich and engaging user experiences.\n\n* Mentor and coach engineers of a variety of levels of experience.\n\n\n\n\nSkills and experience\n\nThe following represents attributes our ideal candidate possesses. Remote Solutions Engineer Integrations\nAbout the Role\n\nAs a Solutions Engineer at Afresh, you will work directly with our grocery retail partners and Afresh colleagues to deploy our purpose-built fresh food solution and bring tangible, lasting impact to our partners. Externally, you will build effective partnerships with our customers to drive the success of our end-to-end integrations. Remote Staff Data Engineer Analytics Platform\nAbout the Role:\n\nThe goal of our analytics architecture is to allow teams across Afresh to read and write meaningful, consistent, and reliable metrics derived from our disparate data sources, and to use those metrics to track internal performance, power new reporting products, drive decision-making through experimentation, and alert on significant changes in performance.\n\nIn the next 6 months, we are releasing new products that build on top of our analytics architecture, namely a customer facing product for reporting insights that will help our customers drive down food waste. As we venture into building more customer facing products that leverage analytics insight, we’re looking to strengthen our analytics platform foundation.\n\nThe Data Science team sits under the larger Prediction, Optimization, and Planning (POP) team at Afresh. You will regularly interact with data engineers, applied scientists, data scientists, full stack engineers, and product managers in the course of your work.\n\nAs a staff data engineer on the Data Science team, you will own the ongoing development of our analytics platform. In this role, you will evolve our data warehouse schema, solidify our transform architecture, and establish data governance patterns to serve our internal and external analytics needs. Some of your responsibilities will include:\n\n\n* Improve and extend our data analytics architecture to enable consistent analytic results and easy access across multiple analytics use cases\n\n* Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to understand their data needs, and then build extensible dimensiional models and semantic layer metrics that allow for consistent and reliable insights\n\n* Evolve our existing data quality and data governance processes\n\n* Mentor and up-skill other engineers\n\n\n\n\nThis is a high-impact role with ownership of highly visible projects and a lot of room to grow in your scope.\n\nSkills and Experience:\n\n\n* 6+ years of experience as an data engineer, analytics engineer, data warehouse engineer, or a similar role.\n\n* Strong understanding of advanced concepts in SQL.\n\n* Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with a proven ability to facilitating cross-team and cross-functional collaboration and information sharing.\n\n* 1+ years of experience working with SQL-driven transform libraries that support an ELT paradigm, like dbt or sqlmesh, at scale, including setting up CI/CD pipelines that ensure high quality transformations.\n\n* Expert knowledge about the differences between OLTP and OLAP database design.\n\n* Familiarity with the differences between data engineering concepts like Data Mesh, Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Data Fabric, and Data Lakehouse.\n\n* Experience with setting up a semantic layer defined with code (LookML, Cube.dev, AtScale, dbt semantic layer).\n\n* Technologies: SQL, Python, Airflow, dbt, Snowflake/Databricks/BigQuery, Spark.\n\n\n\n\nSalary Band:\n\n\n\n\n#LI-REMOTE\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n

Remote Staff Data Scientist Performance\nAbout the role:\n\nYou will act as the technical lead for our Data Science team. The Data Science team sits in our larger Machine Learning organization. The Afresh system comprises, among other sources of data, machine learning forecasts, inventory estimates, user-provided data, and clickstream data. You will work with product managers, go-to-market experts, applied scientists, and other stakeholders to turn this data into metrics and experiments that will guide our company towards more and more food waste reduction.\n\nYou will also own a critical part of Afresh’s business: proving the value that we generate for our customers. To do so, you will build on our existing statistical analysis tools to ship rigorous metrics and statistical experiments that demonstrate our impact to our customers and internal teams.\n\n\n* In your first 3 months, you will familiarize yourself with our existing statistical toolkit and make a scoped improvement to it. You will learn about our ongoing product experiments and metric development, and work with our data scientists to spin up an experiment and/or new metric. You will attend calls with our customers and learn about the nature of data in the grocery industry.\n\n* By the end of your first 6 months, you will introduce additional metrics and ways of slicing at our data that unlock new insights for our customers. You will have onboarded onto our experimentation platform and helped guide our product team towards the right feature choice.\n\n* By the end of your first year, you will make foundational improvements to our causal inference pipelines, making them more scalable and powerful. You will introduce new norms to the team around metric creation and statistical methods.\n\n\n\n\nSkills and experience:\n\n\n* 4+ years of experience as a data scientist. 6+mo experience as a technical lead where you regularly mentored other team members.\n\n* Expert abilities in statistical analysis, especially in experimental design. Familiarity with causal inference. Extensive experience with both applied and theoretical statistics.\n\n* Expert abilities in SQL. Expert abilities in using Python for data analysis.\n\n* Familiarity with tools for Python statistical analysis (e.g., pandas, statsmodels, sklearn, dplyr).\n\n* Excellent data visualization and dashboarding skills, including familiarity with at least one major dashboarding platform (e.g. Tableau, Looker, Mode).\n\n* Excellent written and verbal visual communication skills with the proven ability to quickly deliver high-quality analyses\n\n\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
