VertiStudio is a distributed [team](https://themeisle.com/about-us/) of more than 20 people all over the world ( Romania, Poland, Greece, Portugal & more), together we run a [profitable](https://www.romanian-companies.eu/vertigo-studio-srl-29109287/) and bootstrapped business for more than 9 years.ย \n\nWeโre not serial entrepreneurs and we donโt think we are the biggest, brightest developers tackling the biggest technical challenges on the planet.ย \n\nBut we think companies have unique DNA; VertiStudio is our means to express ourselves in our professional lives.ย \n\nWhat makes us different?\n\nItโs not a product, a methodology, or a one-page manifesto.\n\nItโs through hundreds of little things that weโre different.ย \n\n**What will you be working on?**\n\nIt depends on your interests & experience.ย \n\nWe have 3 major projects: [Neve](https://themeisle.com/themes/neve/), [Optimole](https://optimole.com/) & [our own sites](https://vertistudio.com/#vertistudio-portfolio), ย our products are being used by around 1 million people & our content sites reach half a million people every month. You will be the technical lead for one of these major projects.ย \n\nHow will you get there?\n\nWeโd start with a short 2-week trial when youโll identify some things that can be improved and start improving them immediately.\n\nSee, weโre looking for someone who can teach us something & take our team on the next technical level.\n\n**What kind of people thrive here?**\n\nWhen Iโm thinking about technical people, the ones that thrive are those that donโt like doing the same thing twice.ย \n\nTheyโre independent. They like to get to the bottom of the problem. They use the latest technologies, but theyโre realistic enough to figure out how it fits the project.\n\nTake this example: https://github.com/Codeinwp/neve/issues/1989ย \n\nOr the time an intern used a small internal hackathon as an opportunity to learn a new programming language by asking โcan the blocks be made in exotic programming languages like PureScript, F# with Fable or Elm?โ\n\nFor this particular role, youโll need to understand WordPress really really well, have experience in leading a small team or at least running a major project on your own & have strong PHP & Javascript knowledge.\n\n**How to apply?**\n\nUse the form below and clearly state in a written or video form :ย \n\n* Your experience with WordPress development.\n\n* What is your favorite code performance tweak & show us some code youโve written that youโre proud of if possible\n\n* Tell us a bit about yourself and why you should be considered.\n\n* Profile links with code samples (GitHub, GitLab, WordPress.org, etc).\n\n* Other profile links if available (Your website, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc).\n\n* A technical improvement that youโll do on https://github.com/Codeinwp/neve\n\n* For the input field asking if you agree, the answer is **themeisle**. Unfortunately 90% of the people doesn't seem to read this.\n\nPlease take your time to go through those and answer carefully, we donโt have a long interview process, nor any technical tests per se, weโll need those answers and references to go through them and figure out your technical skills.\n\nNote: I wonโt be able to individually respond to all applications, if youโre a match weโll reach out.\n\nWhat does the process look like?\n\nIf you seem to be the right person, I will reach out to you for a quick 30โ meeting. ย I would like to learn more about what you are looking for and answer your questions, alternatively, we can do this via text as well.ย \n\nIf we agree to move forward, then the next step would be a chat with [Marius](https://github.com/selul), our CTO, about the technical work youโve done and what you would like to do.\n\nIf this goes well, weโd move into the 2-week paid trial to see how things would work.\n\nIf this goes well, youโre hired. \n\nPlease mention the words **ATTACK ABANDON GATHER** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4xODA=). SkyVerge is looking for a talented full-stack PHP engineer to join our team and help build our portfolio of WordPress plugins for WooCommerce. You'll write code that helps power mission-critical tools for millions of online stores.\n\n## The Role\nYouโll be focused on building new features and maintaining existing code, while also helping with code reviews and customer support. With over 50 different plugins, thereโs a wide variety of work. You might spend time on some complicated frontend interactions using JS, then switch focus to working with a tricky external REST API for a while, and later work on adding unit/acceptance tests to our framework code.\n\nYouโll have the opportunity to really dive into a problem and understand it before crafting a well-engineered, high quality solution. We believe the best work happens when given lots of uninterrupted time to think and code.\n\nOur plugins are built on top of WordPress and designed to work with WooCommerce, so we use PHP 5.2+ (moving soon to PHP 5.3 minimum) and we write all new JS in CoffeeScript. We follow a superset of the WordPress coding standards and are actively investing in automated testing to help improve both the quality of products and the happiness of our team building them. \n\nWe work primarily through GitHub and Slack, so you should be able clearly express your ideas via comments and messages. All new code is tested and peer-reviewed, so youโll be able to both learn from the rest of the team and share your knowledge. \n\n\n## You\nYou love solving engineering challenges in the most pragmatic way possible. You write code that's clear, readable, and standards-compliant. More importantly, you keep the end user in mind and love getting feedback from customers to help improve our products.\n\nYou're excited to join a small team that loves their work as much as you do, and affords the opportunity to work on interesting projects, continuously learn and improve, and to constantly ship cool projects. You're an excellent communicator, whether written, in person, or via video chat (native-level English fluency is required). You know that code is about communication and that explaining yourself clearly goes hand-in-hand.\n\nOur team is fully remote and stays in touch primarily via Slack and weekly stand-ups over Zoom. That said, we believe face time is valuable. Availability for 1-2 company-paid team trips (SkyTrip!) per year is necessary.\n\nThis is a full-time, salaried position, but hours are flexible. We know your work will speak for itself with commits, issues closed, and wiki edits. However, fit with our team and culture is important. As a result, all of our team members go through a 30-day period as a contractor before becoming a permanent team member. This helps us (and you) make sure weโre an ideal match. If not, either one of us can say, โThanks!" and move on to different projects.\n\n## Process\nFollowing an interview, weโll ask you to complete a small paid project. If this goes well, weโll invite you to our join the team and start your 30-day contract period.\n\n## Benefits\nHere are some benefits we're excited to offer to our team members:\n\n- Competitive salary\n- Performance incentives for meeting team and company goals\n- 25 days of paid time-off, in addition to 2 company holidays\n- Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance for US and Canadian residents and their families (reimbursements for comparable care for non-US/Canadian residents)\n- Retirement plan with company match\n- The tools (hardware/software) you need to be productive\n- Allowance for professional growth (e.g. books, conferences)\n- Home office or co-working allowance\n- A Kindle to help you keep learning\n\n_We support workplace diversity and donโt discriminate on any protected class. We believe, when we work together as a team of different views, experiences, and ideas we can build amazing things._\n \n\nPlease mention the words **WILD LAUNDRY DEMISE** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4xODA=). \nAlchemy+Aim is a website development company, specializing in helping entrepreneurs and creative businesses. While it was only officially named in the early part of 2015, I've been doing this work for two years. Since beginning I've grown my business from a solopreneurship to an actual company, that currently has a team of 10 people. We're in multiple six-figure land now and looking to grow further by getting the right people on the team.\n\nWe're doing things differently at Alchemy+Aim, focusing on building lateral structures in the company rather than traditional hierarchical ones. Team members have all the perks that contractors have, while also being able to really contribute to the growth of the company and the direction it's moving in. We're instituting several things over the next two years, including profit sharing, team development opportunities, and team retreats.\n\n The Basics of the Job: \n\n+ You’d be developing custom Wordpress sites. We believe in coding custom sites from scratch and we hope you do too.\n\n+ You’d be communicating with the team regularly. We use Slack for regular communication and Trello for project management. There are occasionally some video chats we'll need to do either via Skype or Google Hangout. \n\nJob benefits: \n\n+ You can work from anywhere. No moving for a job involved. If you’re happy where you are, stay there. If you’re unhappy, move somewhere new. This job will go with you. (If you want to spend a month working from the Italian countryside or in a Scottish pub, more power to you.)\n\n+ You decide what you want your hours to be. You just need to communicate with the team regularly.\n\n+ You get paid on a per project basis. We'll discuss the scope of the project and come up with a feel-good price for the work you'll be doing. (For some team members, this has evolved into more full-time payment structures, but we begin this way.)\n\nOpen Positions:\n\n+ Wordpress Developer (part-time to full-time)\n\n+ Small Project Manager - This is a part-time position in addition to the Developer role for interested candidates. You would need to have experience managing people before, organizing projects, and reviewing finished products to ensure our high-quality standards are met. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n

\nMy name is Brandi Bernoskie, and two years ago I quit my job at a non-profit to be a website developer. I started my own business because I was tired of living my life in a grey cube. I thought I’d code a few sites here and there, dreaming of a job that allowed me to shape my life, rather than job that was my life. In those two years, I went from contractor to entrepreneur.\n\nMy business has grown substantially, tripling from the first year to the second and on track to more than double again this year. With that growth, new opportunities have arisen. Like creating an awesome job for someone. And perhaps that someone is you.\n\n The Basics of the Job: \n\n+ You’d be developing custom Wordpress sites. I believe in coding custom sites from scratch and I hope you do too.\n\n+ You’d be communicating with me and my project manager regularly. One video chat early in the week with me, plus some project updates by email or Evernote, as necessary.\n\nJob benefits: \n\n+ You can work from anywhere. No moving for a job involved. If you’re happy where you are, stay there. If you’re unhappy, move somewhere new. This job will go with you. (If you want to spend a month working from Argentina, more power to you.)\n\n+ You decide what you want your hours to be. We’ll have a regular weekly call set up, but beyond that, if you’re a night owl and want to work when other people are sleeping, that’s cool. If you want to split your day, it’s your call. \n\n+ You get paid on a per project basis. You get a set fee for each project, so if you can get it done in 3 hours, awesome. The more efficient and faster you are, the more you free time you get. (Within two years, however, this could be a full-time salaried job with benefits for the right person.) \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
