We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our growing, remote team! You will leverage your strong problem-solving and communication skills to collaborate closely with our Product & Engineering teams to optimize performance and stability of our applications. You will work to identify and drive opportunities for improvements both for the product and our team. This is an opportunity for someone who has at least 5 years of experience and can be more backend focused to start.
What You’ll Do:
Work on performance and stability improvement efforts across our APIs and applications
Work closely with Product Engineering to derive requirements, designs, and opportunities for improvement
Educate peers; provide documentation and processes for scalable system development
Help progressively improve/refactor our ecosystem of services: break up bottlenecks, experiment with different workflows, etc.
What You Have:
Computer Science degree (BS/MS)
At least 3+ years of server-side Node.js experience (Express, REST, TypeScript) with 2+ years of NoSQL (MongoDB/Firestore/etc.) and RDBMS/SQL experience (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
Experience with Cloud ecosystems (GCP, Azure, AWS) and familiarity with Cloud architecture and patterns
Familiarity with Service-Oriented Architecture, and how to work through issues and improvements across multiple services.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills. A desire to work openly and share your trials and learnings with the team, while also learning from your teammates.
Nice to have:
A strong appreciation for application observability, simplicity, and building fault-tolerant systems
Familiarity with functional programming concepts
Python 3.10+ (FastAPI, Pandas)

We have good automated test coverage of our backend services, and front-end unit tests, but we’d like to start running UI tests with Puppeteer or similar.\n- You’ll also lead the design and implementation of a real-time collaboration feature, using something like ShareDB.\n- We’ll spend time helping you to understand our business and archetypical customer in detail. Our engineers don’t just follow instructions—they have their own vision of the product and are always looking to find ways to do things better.\n\n### ✅ The requirements\n\n- You should have extensive experience developing complex web applications with React, Redux and TypeScript—we’d love to see some cool things you made!\n- You should also have worked with GraphQL.\n- You should be good with CSS and familiar with preprocessors.\n- You’ll need an eye for detail and can build things that don't just work, but look and feel great too.\n- You need to practice modern software development techniques such as unit testing, continuous integration & distributed version control.\n- You need to be within ±2 hours of the CET timezone, because we think remote collaboration is really important.\n- We want you to be a fun person to work with!
