Put simply, The Athletic is at the center of a sports fanโ€™s universe.\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Role\n\n\nThis is a senior role providing comprehensive editorial oversight of our Fantasy & Sports Betting desk, using data analytics to optimize performance, and partner with stakeholders across the editorial organization and business teams on a range of initiatives.\n\n\nThis is a remote role for US and Canada. \n\n\n\nResponsibilities \n* Manage a staff of reporters with an emphasis on the delivery of news and distinct team analysis.\n* Provide a big-picture, conceptual vision for the vertical, including long-term direction; generating and planning story ideas; editorial platforms; expansion opportunities.\n* Establish process and priorities to balance content assignments ranging from short-form and breaking news to daily coverage to long-form projects.\n* Work to bring a distinctive, compelling, and authentic voice to all digital media products.\n* Maintain an understanding and proficiency of subscription and engagement metrics.\n* Maintain proficiency and knowledge of SEO best practices.\n* Develop comprehensive multimedia coverage and contacts that include text and audio.\n* Coordinate staffing assignments, editorial resources and process. Lucid has an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Finance Intern to join the Strategic Finance (FP&A) team. The Operations Supervisor uses sharp business skills to assist in end-to-end business process activities by creating, controlling, and improving business processes by assisting in process design, project implementation for improvement activities, diagnosing process improvement opportunities and develop solutions using principles of process excellence and related tools. Primary Responsibilities
  • Manages day-to-day and production operations for a team of 30-40 medical coders
  • Develops procedures to increase departmental accuracy and efficiency through prompt identification and resolution of routine and complex production issues
  • Assesses, evaluates, and addresses daily workload and queues
  • Analyzes productivity of medical coders compares productivity to capacity plan. Identifies variances and implements proactive solutions to mitigate risk
  • Responsible for quality monitoring activities including identifying areas of improvement and plan the implementation of improvement areas
  • Functions as departmentโ€™s liaison and contact / resource person for providing client issues and problem resolutions
  • Creates competencies for coders; identifies training and development opportunities for coders
  • Incorporate feedback from operational, financial and QA reports to improve performance

Primary Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

  • You will become an expert on the company's data platform.
  • Create regulatory reports and dashboards.

  • Provide ad-hoc analysis as necessary.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
  • A minimum of 1 year (professional, co-op and/or intern) of analytics experience, preferably in highly regulated field.
  • You have experience with SQL and tableau. Additional programming language experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of statistics and hypothesis testing. Model building experience is a plus.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • You are detail-oriented.
  • You have a BS in Mathematics, Business, or a related field.

Internship Focus Area:
  • Climate Equity & Disaster Relief: Climate change does not impact every community equally, and it is incumbent upon us to implement inclusive solutions that do not leave anyone behind. The GM Climate Equity Fund aims to help fund organizations that are closing the climate equity gap at the community level and across three key areas: sustainable jobs, access to sustainable transportation and community climate action.

Responsibilities may include:
  • Supporting the Climate Equity and Disaster Relief program officer with various projects, including idea development for grantmaking strategy
  • Producing insights from grantmaking data leading to new ideas
  • Preparing emails and other correspondence as required
  • Reviewing and processing grant applications
  • Meeting with potential and existing nonprofits on behalf of GM
  • Researching potential nonprofit organizations that align with the fund strategy

Basic Qualifications:
  • Pursuit of a Bachelorโ€™s or Masterโ€™s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business, Environmental Sciences, Social Work or related field
  • Must be graduating between December 2023 and June 2025
  • Demonstrates leadership in field of study, extra-curricular activities or service organizations
  • Able to work full-time - 40 hours per week during the summer months
  • Strong commitment to the fundโ€™s vision and values with the ability to demonstrate that commitment in daily interactions.

  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization as needed

This role offers the following Work Appropriately strategies:

The median level of the monthly salary compensation for this role is $4,250 dependent upon class status and degree. Benefit options are not available for this role.

GM will provide a one-time lump sum taxable stipend payment to each student selected for the 2023 Student Program.
