Applied Pharmacometrics Training Fellowship –Africa Region
The Applied Pharmacometrics Training Fellowship – Africa Region is a collaboration between Certara, Pharmacometrics Africa, CP+ Associates, together with several pharma industry and academic partners, to provide an intensive fellowship program for talented and motivated doctoral level scientists from Africa.
The program has 2 components:
Virtual Program – A 3-month virtual program (Q1 2023) that will provide fellows with exposure to leading edge pharmacometric model based analysis. The time commitment will be significant (e.g. a minimum of 20 hours per week over the duration of the Virtual Program.
Immersion Program – Upon completion of the Virtual Program, fellows will have the option to extend the program for another 3 months to an project-based program led by Certara and partners from pharma and academia. The program is designed to foster professional development through immersive training on all competencies required for regulatory quality pharmacometrics analyses and reports. Guided by industry mentors, the fellows will receive class-room training, are assigned individual jointly-agreed upon, precompetitive projects and participate in a leadership development program designed to enhance their decision-making and communication skills.
The Applied Pharmacometrics Training Fellowship – Africa Region aims to build scientific and leadership capability in Africa by enhancing the skills of local scientists and by facilitating knowledge transfer to their wider scientific communities. The relationships forged between the hosts of this program and the fellows' home institutions will further the endeavour to create next-generation medicines to ease suffering and improve quality of life for patient populations around the world. Successful participants in this program will be considered as candidates to join the consulting team for Certara located on-site in Africa.

Monitor performance of key external service providers. Communicate to management service failures and help develop action plans to correct for future shipments. Monitor implementation of process improvements.
Identify, evaluate & implement opportunities to leverage L&P volumes with current service providers utilizing multiple business units.
Coordinate project analysis, bids, etc. for existing business units with existing or potential service providers.
Assist with new service provider set ups through SOP’s and required service provider documents.
Collaborate with Business unit Purchasing & Sales departments and Logistics offices as necessary to meet customer requirements
Develop & Incorporate KPI’s to monitor performance and identify opportunities for improvement with freight forwarders, ocean carriers against benchmarks and service agreements to improve support for our business units. Report findings along with suggested improvement solutions on a quarterly basis.
Provide feedback updates regarding market details for air, ocean and intra Europe trucking to management & Business Units.
Work with Logistics systems, Accounting & other Logistics offices to ensure visibility & financial data integrity of shipments.
Report cost savings / cost avoidance opportunities to management.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Business Management, Operations Management, or related field, or suitable combination of education and training
5+ years’ experience in the transportation and logistics industry, including 2+ years in a management role
Analytical and data-driven mindset.
Experience with Microsoft Suite applications.

Job Description

As a senior accountant for Capital Accounting - In this role you will support Starbucks industry leading Innovation and Design teams and working closely with Retail and Store Development Finance organizations. Capital Accounting’s main responsibilities include managing a global $2B annual Fixed Asset investment portfolio.
As a Senior Accountant, you will…
Be an integral part of the success of the team – You will be responsible for preparing and self-reviewing journal entries and reconciliations for accuracy and compliance with company policies and applicable accounting principles. You will also perform peer reviews of journal entries and reconciliation providing feedback and coaching of new in career partners.
Participates in cross-functional teams – You will participate in collaborative projects and assignments as needed to support the goals of the department.
Enjoy working on an energetic, fun team and have a clear ability to drive the business forward as part of a highly collaborative team, while acting in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.
Support month and quarter end close – You will perform complex trend and variance analysis as part of month and quarter end close. You will also participate in quarter-end schedules and analytics to support the SEC filing such as 10-Q and 10-K.

Bachelor’s degree required, degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
Position specific knowledge: specialization areas include Cost Accounting, foreign exchange accounting, SEC and external reporting
Demonstrated ability to understand broad business and financial issues
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Attention to detail - Ability to interact with a variety of people at all organizational levels
Experience with general ledger systems (e.g., Oracle or other ERP)
Ability to prioritize and document work performed
Advanced analytical skills

What You’ll Be Doing
Develop an understanding of customers' business and operational objectives by collaborating with the sales, operations, and print implementation teams
Create customized marketing materials, user guides, training videos, and conduct live training sessions as needed to assist new print program account customers with navigating the StaplesAdvantage.com website
Coordinate end user site training; assist with site organization (i.e., shopping list creation/maintenance) to ensure customer self-service
Develop scalable processes, resources, and frameworks when required by the customer (manual order process, etc.)
Create internal program documentation (SOP) and conduct account hand-off to appropriate support team(s)
Provide sales, revenue, and service performance data during initial 90 days of a new print program account
Organize and maintain customer account files related to initial account set-up & Onboarding
Maintain accurate records including master cases & project task cases, as well as “maintenance” cases in SFDC

This internship requires candidates to be a self-starter
Even though this is a paid-by-result internship, the Marketing Associate Intern will gain direct access to work with founders, investors, and clients in the business community in financing and consulting projects. The experience will help the Intern accumulate knowledge and hands-on experience through the sales and marketing functions of MDF's financing and consulting projects.
The Intern will also be given a lot of autonomy, flexibility, and even a marketing budget to grow MDF's presence online and cross-channel. At the end of the internship, the bonus payment to the Intern will be based on the results of the marketing campaign and the Intern will be given a reference letter or possibly a full-time role after that. Hence, this position requires the Intern to be 100% committed to the role during the period.
