About Heliax
Heliax is a public goods lab which researches, develops, deploys, and maintains open-source protocols and mechanisms designed to serve the everyday needs of humanity. Using these protocols and mechanisms, we build vertically integrated products and networks that form coherent open systems which are capable of acting as an alternative to existing exploitative paradigms.
Two of the most notable vertically integrated protocols are Anoma and Namada.ย
Anoma is an intent-centric, privacy-preserving protocol for decentralized counterparty discovery, distributed solving, and atomic multi-chain settlement โ a radically novel architecture for decentralized protocols marking the beginning of the third generation of architectures ever since programmable settlement.
Namada is Anomaโs first fractal instance. It is proof-of-stake Layer 1 protocol for asset-agnostic, interchain privacy. The key innovations include ZCash-like shielded transfers for any assets (fungible and non-fungible), incentivised privacy sets, and interoperability with Ethereum via a custom bridge and IBC.
Heliax is a remote-first (but not remotely-only) team, currently composed of +50 cross-disciplinary members located around the world.

Weโre a 100% remote company so youโd have the freedom to work from anywhere. It's a full-time position (40 hours a week), yet you get to plan your own schedule and work whenever you want. You will become an integral member of our team at Pangolia consisting of a diverse group of 95 talented individuals from all over the world, joining us on our united goal of improving the lives of pets and those who care for them.
This is a great opportunity if youโre an amazing developer looking to rapidly grow your skills whilst working alongside peers who are at the top of their field.
You Will Be Responsible For:

โย ย ย ย ย ย Developing, testing, and maintaining new features and solutions for our WordPress sites for desktop and mobile browsers that are optimized for high traffic
โย ย ย ย ย ย Optimize our websites for mobile users

โย ย ย ย ย ย The ability to communicate well as we work remote (most of our communication is written in Slack with occasional calls)
โย ย ย ย ย ย Experience with Docker andDDev.com for local development
โย ย ย ย ย ย Experience with WP CLI, WP REST API, and WP cron jobs
โย ย ย ย ย ย Experience with CDNs/Cloudflare

โย ย ย ย ย ย Good understanding of website architecture, aesthetics and UI/UX best practices
โย ย ย ย ย ย Understanding of basic principles behind technical SEO and performance optimization
โย ย ย ย ย ย We would appreciate it if you could work with PHPStorm so that we can use their collaborative features and have some consistency in our development processes. However, if you prefer and work better with another IDE or coding tool, that's fine! Either way, we will pay for your license.
โย ย ย ย ย ย Youโre passionate about solving problems with smart and elegant programming solutions. Your code is clean, understandable, and well commented
โย ย ย ย ย ย Youโre a self-starter who loves taking initiative and seeing things through to completion.
โย ย ย ย ย ย You have the curiosity and desire to learn and grow your skills and discover new modern practices and follow the latest trends in WordPress
โย ย ย ย ย ย You take pride in the quality and craftsmanship of your work rather than just doing it to get it done but you are also able to balance it with not overdoing your work and being able to move and work fast
โย ย ย ย ย ย Youโre able to juggle around and work on different projects and side tasks on a weekly basis. While we wish we could focus on one thing for weeks at a time to make it perfect, thatโs often not the reality in a competitive market.
Benefits/Perks
โย ย ย ย ย ย Work from anywhere (weโre 100% remote)
โย ย ย ย ย ย Flexible work hours, you get to plan your own schedule and work whenever you want
โย ย ย ย ย ย Developer Growth.

โย ย ย ย ย ย 21 days of paid time off every year
โย ย ย ย ย ย Your work with a great, talented team that produces a high-growth work environment (we move fast)
โย ย ย ย ย ย Opportunity to move up in the company, and earn higher pay and bonuses
A typical workweek (example)
โย ย ย ย ย ย Every Monday, we have a one-on-one Zoom meeting to discuss our goals, whether you are meeting your goals, what went well, what did not go well, and so on.
โย ย ย ย ย ย You have one or multiple projects to complete. You can work on them whenever and however you want without being micromanaged. However, you must be able to meet the deadline and be accountable for the quality of the end solution.
โย ย ย ย ย ย Youโre also responsible for maintaining the Github repository of the project youโre working on, committing/pushing/documenting your changes, commenting on your code, and writing SOPs or technical documentation (if necessary). It doesnโt have to be pages long and can be very short and concise. But, as a developer, it makes life so much easier if you can return to your code in the future without having to think too hard about what you did. This is also about being considerate of your teammates' time.
โย ย ย ย ย ย There must be some overlap in our working hours so you can respond to urgent requests (if any) or chat with your manager or any of our departments on demand if they have an IT question. This means that some extra tasks may arise during the week.
โย ย ย ย ย ย You might have a day where one of our team members needs something urgent and needs it done the same or the next day, which can be valuable to the company, or a major issue needs to be fixed ASAP, in which case you might have to drop what you're working on and work on that or troubleshoot the entire day. If your main project's deadline cannot be met because of this (which is understandable), you should be able to communicate this on time.
โย ย ย ย ย ย However, most of the time you are able to work on your main projects in solitary. We understand that developers need complete focus. You can also chat and ask questions in our Slack channels.
โย ย ย ย ย ย You might get stuck in programming and need help, or some development processes may need to be explained. If it cannot be explained/resolved via chat or video, screen-sharing calls can be scheduled throughout the week.
The team (and our work culture)
Youโll get to be part of a 100% remote company consisting of a diverse group of 95 talented individuals from all over the world. The people you will find on the team are veterinarians, marketers, content writers, editors, social media managers, graphics designers, content managers, and a lot more.
And youโll get to join us on our united mission of improving the lives of pets and those who care for them. We dream big, and our vision is to become the biggest, most helpful pet company in the world.
Youโll get to be part of a company thatโs undergoing hyper-growth, and the fast-paced work environment that comes with it.
And weโve managed to grow at a healthy pace without ever sacrificing our culture and values.
Our company culture is focused on work and collaboration, but also while being open to the casual humor and chatter that makes us get to know each other.
We work hard, and you may have to work on the weekend every now and then if you have a lot on your plate. However, we have a huge understanding of the importance of time off, and we encourage each other to take time off.
A lot of us love traveling, and therefore, we plan on doing yearly company retreats, where we all meet up together and have fun.
We value the freedom of being able to work from anywhere, trust, and collaboration.

Hey there,
Oliver and Vincent here, co-founders of Memex.Garden, and weโre looking for a senior full-stack engineer to join our 3 person team. $7-10k/month salary plus shares in the company.
Memex is a personal & collaborative reader to collect, annotate and discuss websites, PDFs and Youtube videos. By yourself or with your team and community. We're in Beta and you can download it here: memex.garden. This is made for DAOs, commercial and academic research teams, reading clubs and students with the need to collaboratively read and talk about web content, papers, Youtube videos and (soon) images.
Weโre funded with support from Protocol Labs as well as leading people at Protocol Labs, Anaconda, Ceramic & RMRK.
Next, you'll be working on the collaborative curation and annotation workflows and on the sync between Discord and Memex Spaces to automatically extract links and conversations from there.
Youโll be the 3rd person joining our 2-person engineering team and will mainly work on the feature development. Upcoming are improvements to the collaboration experience, image support and the Discord sync.
While we use React, Typescript, Firebase and React Native, weโre not looking for a checklist of technologies. Weโre looking for people who can demonstrate experience and deep knowledge about programming and the surrounding skills to ship projects. (Weโre not open to junior positions at this moment.)
This means the ability to analyze problems, communicate how youโre going to solve them, the trade-offs involved with your approach, converting that into well-written code that your colleagues will have a good time continuing on and transferring knowledge. We value how much certain ideas and technologies fit the problem at hand and the overall architecture of the product, not which technologies are hot at at the moment.
The hurry to get out features and the need to clean up code so we can continue to ship quickly are at constant odds with each other. You can identify whatโs needed to keep us nimble and are good at communicating that to developers and non-developers alike.
Youโre passionate about opportunities you see to make the product and our experience working on our project great and clearly communicate advantages and trade-offs, but you recognize the different perspectives will enhance your ideas, or show that your idea is not the right fit for a particular context.
You value simple code that is easy to understand over smart code that people are afraid to change or costs needless effort to dive into (including for your own sake after youโve forgotten how the cleverness works.)
You can clearly communicate how much autonomy or guidance you need to get things done, but can also concisely keep people who depend on your work up to date and provide them with what they need to get their things done.
Weโre building a platform encouraging the encounter of opposing ideas, and are strong proponents of free speech and care for our fellow humans. So even though we may intensely disagree, we recognize those who we disagree with as people with fundamental rights and human needs. We donโt like to nurture cultures of cancelling, labelling people with all sorts of -isms and one-sided views across the political spectrum. Lets rather look under the hood and be curious about different viewpoints.
Why are we building Memex?
On our own we canโt possibly understand the majority of polarising topics we encounter every day. However, we all search, filter, read and take notes about content online and produce information valuable to other people.
Memex aims to make sharing recommendations and conversations become so easy that we can share what we normally are be too busy to share, build on each othersโ research and easily compare contrary ideas
We think that for a healthy social media environment it needs:
Companies that donโt have such strong profit maximisation incentives that usually lead to extractive business practices like attention/ad-based business models or lock ins
People with the ability to modify their own experience of a newsfeed and notifications
Freedom of speech, but not necessarily freedom of reach
Reduce need for centralised moderation through communal and individual content moderation
The economics behind Memex
We are a Steward Owned organisation in order to prevent profit maximisation incentives that lead to extractive business models and practices, while still giving the company the ability to grow big and fast. To enable that investors and team have a capped return on their investments and company can never be sold. We can get pretty rich if we are doing a good job, but not become billionaires.
We believe there is no collective intelligence without individual intelligence. For individual intelligence to be expressed in a digital space we need to be able to adapt our tools & connect workflows that individually suit our needs. The uncapped investor returns of VC money are the root cause of lock-ins that significantly hinder the emergence of an open knowledge society and collective intelligence that is able to overcome the complex challenges of our time.

**The salary range is so wide because** I would like some of the compensation to be variable or performance based (such as bonuses when new apps and or meaningful features are launched). I know money is the most important thing to you. It is for me too. I am prepared to pay the right person a lot of money, especially for a remote job. This is up to you and I to discuss. If you want equity I am willing to do that after a standard vesting cliff period. In fact I would love if you really wanted equity and were that type of person -- one that cared about the long-term.\n\nSaga Ventures is hiring for the role of CTO/Tech Lead. Weโll give you any title you want if you get things done. \n\nAs CTO/Tech Lead you will be responsible for the oversight of, the hiring process of and the development of multiple web and mobile applications. \n\nSaga Ventures is a startup based in Switzerland that builds products that solve its founderโs problems. Basically the founder is solving his own problems with software. The founder is technical but has too many ideas and wants to implement more than one idea at a time. Your job is to lead the development of these software projects. Whether that is outsourcing hiring on freelance websites or hiring full time employees, thatโs your choice (almost entirely; I may push back on a decision to see how well youโve thought it out or something like that).\n\nTop 5 reasons to work with Saga Ventures.\n\nThe person you report to (me, the guy writing this) wants as minimal contact as possible. This means you will be working autonomously almost the entire time. You will be asked to give a weekly report of the progress made each week on each application. This is how I will judge your performance. I will track budgeting with you. We may need to have calls, especially at the beginning of the job, but I generally do not like having calls. I am not one of those bosses who insists on doing things for the sake of doing them.\n\nThis is not a role where you will learn from others, technically speaking. You should be confident and familiar with all aspects of web and mobile application development (React Native specific). You should be comfortable with and desire to work independently.\n\nThe ideas and applications we are working on are not pie in the sky ideas. They are all intended to solve current problems of the founder. For some of the ideas, competing applications exist. For others, the problems we will be working on are not currently realized by the public. They are new. One example problem is how to easily share only the code that a remote developer needs to work on a repository of code.\n\nTwo of the five ideas have partially developed apps. They need love and attention from someone focused.\n\nThe themes of the products are:\n\nRemote Work\nInvesting and Finance\nLanguage Learning\nLongevity/Anti-aging\n\nAll of the above themes are passions of his and industries he is highly experienced in (except longevity, that is a mere passion with a missing website ;).\n\nThings I Care About\n\nYour ability to work independently on full feature sets bringing product specifications to life.\nYou should basically never ask me a technical question. I am trying to not code at all here. I do product, design, strategy, finance, business stuff. You do and lead everything else.\nBe able to take ownership of problems with a determination to solve them (this sentence was from a boilerplate job description from another one that I copied but it sounded good.\n\nThings I donโt care about:\n\nAgile development or any other development styles and how you get things built. [I may steer you towards certain development approaches though (such as using the same tech stack and directory structure across apps to maximize development efficiency)].\nWhere you live\nWhen you work on a daily basis. If we donโt have to speak with one another, we donโt. It would be great if we could be a text-only company. Automattic is. Why canโt Saga Ventures be?\n\n\nSkills required:\n\nReact/React-Native/React-Native-Web for frontend\nExperience leading development projects or the confidence and ability to do so\nWould be nice if you had a good understanding of AWS with some devops experience\n\nAs CTO/Tech Lead you must be highly proficient in React Native. We share as much code as possible between mobile and web applications by using the React Native Web package.\n\nOur backend is the classic Express, MongoDB/Mongoose. \n\nPlease mention the words **MOVIE STONE FAITH** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4xNDY=). \nVarSome.com is the world’s prime reference for genetic variant interpretation. With over 500 citations in scientific papers and 300K users, we are seeking to bring together all human expertise in molecular genetics and make it available to doctors and researchers worldwide to improve the lives of their patients.\n\nYou will be joining our front-end development team as an experienced JavaScript front-end web developer - depending on experience this can become a team-lead role. Our core frontend technologies include the ReactJS Javascript framework but we also utilize the Vue JS framework on particular applications, using webpack to bundle CSS, LESS or SASS and Javascript code into reusable components. A Python based REST API layer backed by a high-performance C++ back-end and proprietary database formats optimised for genetic information, provides data to our frontend stack. Our platform is entirely Linux based, hosted in Google Cloud as well as our own high-security data-centre. We follow an Agile development process, most projects will touch multiple developers across the stack, but we keep individual tasks small (3 to 5 days) to remain responsive and deliver consistently.\n\nYour main responsibility will be to deliver an integrated suite of interactive UI components. You will play a key role in their design, working with back-end developers and genetic experts, to ensure our users are able to work efficiently and accurately. We deal with vast quantities of scientific data which presents a real challenge in understanding how best to display it, providing many opportunities for innovation. \n\nThis is a fully remote role: our core development team is located around Athens (though even our local staff work mostly from home), with other developers in the UK & Switzerland. Everybody speaks good English and the company is very experienced in coordinating a regionally distributed team, using an Agile work-flow. There will also be opportunities to travel occasionally, once Covid restrictions are lifted, to meet co-workers in person for off-sites or specific projects. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n

\nAt Olo we develop an online food ordering platform used by many of the country’s largest restaurant chains, reaching millions of consumers. Chances are if you’ve ordered directly from a restaurant brand’s app or website, we’ve made that happen. Mobile ordering and payments is an exciting and active industry full of interesting players and yet still a relatively untapped market ripe for disruption. We’re quite up-front about the technical challenges our business faces. Running a platform with multiple white-labeled front-ends, that maintains real-time connections into thousands of restaurants’ POS systems, and coordinates complex transactions between these and other third parties (such as payment gateways and gift card providers) is not for the faint of heart!\n\nThe Ordering Web engineering team at Olo, part of the larger Ordering User Experience Group, is responsible for creating, enhancing, and maintaining all of the web UIs that enable a digital ordering capability for restaurant brands. Through our white labeled (and sometimes custom) web solutions, our customers are able to expose a unified, feature rich-experience to their consumers.\n\nAs Engineering Manager for the Order Web team, you will work closely with a team of talented engineers, product management and design, to research, plan and define new projects and features, as you take business priorities and translate them into viable technical solutions. By adhering to Agile methodologies, managing projects, setting project expectations, meeting 1-on-1 with your engineers and providing mentorship, support and feedback, you will help develop and align the team’s vision, guide their execution, remove impediments, and coach the team to grow both their skills and impactfulness and deliver quality solutions. You will foster a culture of collaboration, communication, accountability, skill sharing, belonging, mutual respect, and curiosity. In addition, you should be encouraging a production mindset, pushing for the best user experience, performance, and compliance as possible. Your curiosity about the system will drive you to learn more every day as you dig into a new domain to uncover details. You will also be keeping up with technology trends and constantly pushing to keep the team to constantly improve.\n\nWe expect our Engineering Managers to be seasoned engineers with the technical experience to both guide and challenge their teams. As a servant leader, your focus will be on facilitating strong team outcomes, hiring and developing engineering talent, and ensuring that we are delivering exceptional products and services to our customers. While your primary focus will not be one of designing and developing software, we expect our engineering managers to have a strong software development foundation to be able to effectively guide their teams. As such we expect you to have demonstrable experience in software development that spans architecture and design, coding, quality best practices, and production operational concerns.\n\nOur technology stack is rooted in .NET and SQL Server running in an AWS infrastructure, with front-end frameworks centering around Ember or React, and we leverage modern software engineering tools such as GitHub, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, Datadog, and Sumo Logic, as well as heavy use of OSS.\nThis is a full-time position. Candidates may work at Olo’s headquarters in New York City’s Financial District, or remotely from anywhere in the U.S. In fact, more than 75% of our engineering team is remote!\n\nDesired Experience\n\n\n* A passion for computing that extends beyond work\n\n* At least 8 years of software development experience with a progression to a senior technical level\n\n* At least 2 years of engineering management experience under an Agile operational model\n\n* Experience creating rich UIs and understanding of best practices.\n\n* Understanding of ADA and compliance issues as they relate to creating UIs.\n\n* Experience with javascript frameworks (React, Ember), CSS, APIs (C#), databases (MS SQL)\n\n* Demonstrated ability to build and mentor a high performance team while seeking continuous improvement\n\n* Adept at writing unit tests and testable code, and working under distributed version control (preferably Git)\n\n* Experience managing distributed teams consisting largely of remote engineers\n\n* BS degree in a technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience\n\n* Excellent English writing and verbal communication skills\n\n* Legal right to work in the U.S.\n\n\n\n\nAbout Olo\n\nOlo powers digital ordering and delivery programs that connect restaurant brands to the on-demand world, placing orders directly into the restaurant through all order origination points – from a brand’s own website or app, third party marketplaces, social media platforms, smart speakers, and home assistants. Olo serves as the on-demand ordering and delivery platform across 70,000 locations for over 300 brands, such as Applebee’s, Checkers & Rally’s, Cheesecake Factory, Chili’s, Dairy Queen, Denny’s, Five Guys Burgers & Fries, Jamba Juice, Noodles & Company, Portillo’s Hot Dogs, Shake Shack, sweetgreen, Wingstop, and more. Learn more at www.olo.com. \n\nOlo is located on the 82nd floor of One World Trade Center. We offer great benefits, such as 20 days of Paid Time Off, fully paid health, dental and vision care premiums, stock options, a generous parental leave plan, and perks like FitBits, rotating craft beers on tap in our kitchen, and food events featuring our clients' menu items (now you know why we give out FitBits!).
