Column is looking to hire a mission-oriented Head of Software Engineeringto spearhead the technical execution and roadmap of our core public notice platform. You will be responsible for recruiting, training and developing a team of 15+ Software Engineers and Engineering Managers into an engaged and results-oriented department. The role is responsible for Front End, Back End, and DevOps Engineers and will report directly to our CTO, Leo Hentshcker.

First Month: You will conduct a listening tour and present a series of recommended actions to our leadership. First Six Months: You will hire and shape a technical management team that inspires and empowers software engineers to do their best-work. Solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices

Engineers don’t just build widgets -- we participate in the full lifecycle of a feature, from conception to release. We have heaps of interesting problems to solve around customer experience, logistics, supply chain and scale. We’re looking for an experienced, senior level software engineer to help us take the work out of grocery shopping by building delightfully functional web and mobile experiences.\n\nOur technology stack currently consists of React on the frontend and a mix of Node and F# in a microservices backend. We’re on a TypeScript migration journey for all JavaScript code. Data persistence is handled by PostgreSQL and Snowflake, messages by RabbitMQ. We believe in building expertise in a relatively small set of modern but mature tools.
