Virtual Pricing Director is hiring a full-stack engineer to help implement our new legal tech web application - contributing across all aspects of our app, its data, architecture and deployment.\n\nWeโ€™re a well-funded scaleup (no VC money) building the future of legal pricing, for small and large law firms alike. Our workflow and data management software means an end to overcharging clients, arbitrary pricing, and other bad practices that have existed for years.\n\nOur two directors are recognised world authorities in this domain, and bring a number of signed firms ready to use our software. We're off to a healthy start, busy preparing to deploy to one of the world's largest legal teams.\n\nThe work is varied, challenging, and we place equal emphasis on front and back-end. Because of the need to deliver scheduled features, fix bugs, and respond to the needs of newly onboarded firms, weโ€™re looking for someone who relishes lots of hands-on work, contributing across the whole stack. \n\nOur app is powered by React, with Apollo Client for its GraphQL queries and mutations. It leverages Ant Design as the UI framework, upon which we build a mixture of UI components; some simple, some complex. On the back-end, we're using PostgreSQL as our RDS, TypeORM as our ORM, TypeGraphQL to define the API schema, and Apollo Server to deliver the GraphQL.\n\nBoth our front and back ends are coded in TypeScript. We believe in end-to-end testing and have therefore used Playwright to handle an automated E2E test script which runs before deployments.\n\nYou'll join us as we begin to roll out our product to some of the top law firms, and in time to help define, design and build the next two roadmapped modules, and to grow from there.\n\n\n**Upcoming projects across the team**\n\n* Building out a suite of new modules, from designing the underlying business logic and data models, to designing and implementing the application, front-ends and infrastructure\n* Standardising on common approaches that uphold modern enterprise architecture standards\n* New data visualisation and BI reporting solutions\n* Designing and implementing new APIs and data integration pipelines\n* Helping automate quality, CI/CD, and shaping a DevOps approach\n* Contributing to our development culture, methods, and tooling\n* Optionally; supporting dialogue with customers - discovery, requirements, technical solution design, implementation \n\n\n\n**We're looking for**\n\n* Someone with full-stack engineering abilities that span the application, front-end, data and infrastructure considerations\n* A good technical understanding of software engineering principles \n* Technology agnostic, and adept with TypeScript, React, Node.js, PostgreSQL and GraphQL\n* An understanding of the principles of serverless applications, preferably based around AWS\n* Proficient with SQL, and web service design\n* An interest in upholding data security principles and helping choose and implement effective application architectures\n* Ability to unpack complex requirements, to uphold security of sensitive data and to conform to best practices\n* A collaborative, adaptable, user-centred approach\n\n\n**You may also bring - or like to gain - skills around**\n\nAnt Design | TypeORM | TypeGraphQL | Apollo Client | Apollo Server | Java | CircleCI | Heroku | Auth0 | AWS | TDD | Agile | Domain-driven design (DDD) | data modelling | integration patterns\n\n**Salary and benefits**\n\n* ยฃ70,000 - ยฃ90,000 - reviewed at six months - we're keeping an open mind\n* Share scheme for formative team members (once proven value to the business)\n* 25 days holiday, plus public holidays and a day for your birthday\n* Family-friendly and flexible culture - tell us what you need\n* Personal development plan that you can shape, with budget for related training/certifications\n\n**About us**\n\nVirtual Pricing Director has developed groundbreaking software to assist law firms to understand and price their fees, be that ยฃ10k or ยฃ10m. We are the authority for legal pricing and our software has attracted the attention of the largest firms in numerous countries, with a number of partnerships and customers signed. \nWe're now strengthening our fully-remote development team - you'll be our fourth engineering colleague, with more to follow - offering a culture where you will work under your own initiative towards common goals. It's an opportunity to be a formative team member, joining a friendly flat-structured team that operates without ego, and to grow and improve together. \nVirtual Pricing Director is a privately-owned venture, founded by Burcher Jennings LLP and Validatum. https://www.virtualpricingdirector.com/\n\n**Location:** fully remote, within the UK only\n\n**Please note, we are only considering candidates that hold an established right to work in the UK**\n \n\nPlease mention the word **LOVES** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4xMDA=). ๐Ÿ‘‰ Please reference you found the job on Remote OK, this helps us get more companies to post here, thanks!

When applying for jobs, you should NEVER have to pay to apply. You should also NEVER have to pay to buy equipment which they then pay you back for later. Also never pay for trainings you have to do. Those are scams! NEVER PAY FOR ANYTHING! Posts that link to pages with "how to work online" are also scams. Don't use them or pay for them. Also always verify you're actually talking to the company in the job post and not an imposter. A good idea is to check the domain name for the site/email and see if it's the actual company's main domain name. Scams in remote work are rampant, be careful! Read more to avoid scams. When clicking on the button to apply above, you will leave Remote OK and go to the job application page for that company outside this site. Remote OK accepts no liability or responsibility as a consequence of any reliance upon information on there (external sites) or here.

Hello there ๐Ÿ‘‹\n\nThanks for being interested in Deedmob!\n\nI'm David, one of the founders of Deedmob & CTO and who will be reviewing your application if you choose to apply ๐Ÿ™‚ . Let's get it straight out of the way: you would be Engineer #3 in a team of 6. Below you'll find detailed sections on what we think you should know about us before deciding to join us. Feel to skip to sections which interest you!\n\n>>>>>> ๐Ÿงณ The story of Deedmob so far\n\nMy cofounder Boudewijn and I started Deedmob 4 years ago in Amsterdam to help connect young people with purpose in their careers, and help solve large social problems in the process. We set out to build a platform that would help charities engage our generation with flexible, impactful and enjoyable volunteering opportunities. \n\nWe've taken lots of twists and turns along the way, we've learned a bunch and helped thousands of organizations spur volunteers into action. We have a small and effective team and believe in working smarter, not harder. We've discovered it's incredible how much a small team of focused and capable individuals can accomplish through effective teamwork and communication. We don't have many meetings, and most of our work happens asynchronously (written) on Asana. Everyone is included and can see every discussion or decision they want to contribute to. \n\nSometimes working at startups can be stressful and you can be expected to work unpaid overtime or on the weekends. That is not the case here at deedmob. You have the choice to work 4 days a week and work rarely extends beyond working hours.\n\nDuring the coronavirus crisis we shifted our work onto creating coronahelpers, a multi country volunteering initiative which helped thousands of at risk or ill people receive critical goods such as medicine and groceries. Our work resulted in mentions of deedmob and coronahelpers in dutch parliament, a conversation with the dutch prime minister Mark Rutte and the dutch queen Maxima. We were also honoured this year on Forbes' 30 under 30 social entrepreneurs list alongside Greta Thunberg.\n\nWe are growing steadily and in the past we have raised money from venture capital investors. We are now focused on growing a stable, impactful and profitable social enterprise without additional external investment.\n\n>>>>>> ๐Ÿค The product\n\nWe have a stable customer base of large companies like TomTom, Red Bull and H&M which use our software for corporate volunteering. The same product is also used by charities and local governments to engage people to volunteer. Our business model is SaaS (Software as a service) which means we charge customers per month to use our hosted solution. Our customers include Sanquin, the national dutch blood bank, large companies and local governments like Utrecht. Charities can use our platform to find volunteers for free, which is what you can see at deedmob.com. \n\nOur paid product allows organizations to create their own website with an inbuilt CRM, analytics and administrative data views into the platform. You can learn more about it at deedmobtools.com. Our product is one product with options to configure theme, pages and other settings per customer. \n\nWe try to be pragmatic about product management and we've learned our fair share. We were once a feature factory (See [https://cutle.fish/blog/12-signs-youre-working-in-a-feature-factory](https://cutle.fish/blog/12-signs-youre-working-in-a-feature-factory)) but have learned our lesson since. We have a set of standard components we use to make interfaces and don't use a product designer for interface work, instead relying on our premade systems and the strengths of interface intuition of our team. A great resource for developing this skill is Refactoring UI ([https://refactoringui.com/](https://refactoringui.com/)). This lets us get stuff done faster and with fewer people who need to understand the problem and solution. This comes with tradeoffs, and sometimes we do spend a longer time thinking about a particular problem from a product design perspective. \n\n>>>>>> ๐Ÿ’ป What kind of technical work do we have upcoming?\n\n- 30% Making small adjustments to features or interface to make our product clearer or solve the customer's problems better, based on their feedback. Often it's little product changes that can add lots of value to customers. This often involves learning more about the customer's problem and clarifying their feedback with the product manager in order to come up with the best and simplest solution.\n- 20% Working on a new larger feature based on a customer problem we see across customers that is the biggest pain point. An example of such work on our roadmap is a file manager for the different files uploaded by an organisation in our tool.\n- 20% Fixing bugs. We have automated integration tests but sometimes there are visual issues or uncovered parts of the codebase where something goes wrong. We don't support IE or most annoying older browsers that would otherwise cause time consuming bugs.\n- 20% Adding a feature required for the launch of a new customer. This is almost always something that will also be useful for our existing customer base, but would have been a dealbreaker for this customer.\n- 10% DevOps/Deployments/Tech debt elimination\n\n>>>>>> ๐Ÿš€ About the role starts here\n\n**We think an ideal candidate would**\n\n- have the ability to ship solid code in React and Node (and Typescript, but you can learn that on the job)\n- understand how web apps work and have a basic understanding of deployments, browsers, servers etc.\n- acknowledge the challenges working in teams and believe that empathetic and effective communication is important\n- have an attitude of humbleness towards technology and the risks of creating problems from trying to solve problems too early (such as scaling, performance)\n- have a preference towards the simplest solution rather than the most technically interesting or most theoretically correct one\n- have pragmatism in being able to make decisions with incomplete information, and knowing when it's best to ask for clarification\n- have good personal time management skills\n- have good english communication skills\n- be able to help contribute to UI decisions for new features\n- have an attitude of learning and growth\n- be experienced with the challenges of remote work\n- have a feeling of responsibility for upholding product stability and quality\n- be empathetic and develop an understanding of our customer's problems\n\n**After the first 6 months we expect you to**\n\n- have shipped tasks making product roadmap progress and added value to customers\n- have helped upheld current technical stability and uptime\n- be communicating effectively in the team\n- be leading engineering decisions\n\n>>>>>> ๐Ÿ‘พ About the codebase starts here\n\nWe started work on deedmob in 2016 with React + Redux + Node + REST + Postgres and Server side rendering. In 2019 we converted the entire codebase to Typescript as well as React functional components and hooks. In early 2020 we also added GraphQL for some endpoints.\n\nHere are some points about how we do things currently\n\n- We deploy to google cloud via Kubernetes & using cloud build so that one command can release a new version of the codebase.\n- We use github for git hosting.\n- We release approximately once every one to two weeks without a fixed schedule\n- We have automated integration tests in cypress for all important product flows.\n- We share lots of types and files between the frontend and the backend, as its all typescript!\n\n>>>>>> ๐Ÿ About remote work at deedmob\n\nWe have experimented with a couple days remote for the last couple of years but more recently during the coronavirus crisis we gave up our beautiful office in Amsterdam in favour of full remote work.\n\nWe have regular retreats to bring the team together in an epic location, and have had great times travelling together to Marrakech Morocco, Albufeira Portugal and Lisbon.\n\nThe role is remote but we are currently open to candidates within 2 hours of our timezone (CET) in order to reduce any possible issues with meeting times and occasional synchronous collaboration.\n\nWe have daily standups in morning and work without a specific methodology (like agile) currently as we have tried it and found it's not useful at our small team size.\n\n>>>>>> ๐Ÿค“ The interview process, roughly\n\n- 20 min call to assess fit \n- 40 minute live react coding call (no algorithms testing)\n- 3hr take home assignment\n- 30 minute technical call to discuss assignment submission with two engineers\n- 30 minute product call\n- 30 minute call with ceo\noffer\n\n>>>>>> ๐Ÿ˜€ About some of the people of deedmob\n\nBoudewijn Wijnands (CEO): A closer of deals. A fan of disney and dogs. Can always be bribed with chocolate or cake. [https://www.linkedin.com/in/boudewijnwijnands/](https://www.linkedin.com/in/boudewijnwijnands/)\n\nDavid (CTO): It feels weird to write about myself here in the third person. I'm interested in habits, personal development and product engineering. I try to live intentionally through a vegan diet and donating money via the ideas of effective altruism. I love puppies, playing football and cooking. [https://twitter.com/davidvfurlong](https://twitter.com/davidvfurlong)\n\nHendrik-Jan: A drummer, golfer and big fan of cuban cigars. Our resident adult as the oldest team member ๐Ÿง”. Also called "the Puppet Master" for the strength of his network. [https://www.linkedin.com/in/hendrik-jan-overmeer-ab957a6/](https://www.linkedin.com/in/hendrik-jan-overmeer-ab957a6/)\n\nGerbrand Holland: Great writer. Recently started as a part time working student.\n\n>>>>>> ๐ŸŽ Perks\n\n**Here are some of the perks of the job**\n\n- Impactful, purpose driven work (for instance our software has activated 20,000 new blood donors in the last 2 years)\n- Computer setup of your choice\n- Option for 4 days a week\n- Responsibility & the accompanying freedom and learning\n- Work from home (or from a co-working space)\n- Regular team retreats to sunny and fun locations\n- Core contribution into what we work on and how we solve a problem\n- Volunteering time off work\n- Low amount of time spent in meetings\n- Yearly budget for learning and development\n- Financial stability of the company (job security)\n- Low stress environment (low frequency of urgent issues or work)\n- Sizable equity compensation\n- Market rate salary compensation\n\nWe think it's an incredible and rare opportunity for the right person. However we also know that there are great engineers like you that would be unhappy and not thrive in this role.\n\nIn the interest of transparency and avoiding a mismatch, **we think you should consider these reasons not to join us.**\n\n- There are fewer senior people to learn from and ask questions to than at a bigger company. Learning and career development is important to us but it will largely have to be self motivated and with external mentors or on the internet. We want to help you achieve your personal goals and will support you financially and structurally to achieve them.\n- We're growing, but the company is not growing in value or team size as fast as hyper funded startups. If you're hoping to get rich quick by joining a startup very early we would recommend choosing somewhere else.\n- If you need structure and someone to tell you what to work on, you will probably struggle with the autonomy and freedom you will have at Deedmob. A bigger company is probably a better choice.\n- If you want to work on a new project every couple of weeks, it's probably not a good fit. While the work is varied and changes, lots of the work is making improvements to our core product which some people don't like doing as much. That's fine. We know that building something great takes time and many of the greatest breakthroughs are small changes based on deep insights. We share less exciting work equally and try to reduce it by investing in changes or automating things. That being said, if you're easily bored and want constant new technical challenges it may not be the best role for you. Many of our challenges are product and technical challenges, so someone interested in being involved heavily in adding value to our customers through gaining a deeper problem understanding will thrive.\n- You should not join us if you want to work 60 hour weeks. We've been there when we started out. We firmly believe it's not about how hard you work, but how good your decisions are about what to work on and how. Some people really like working all day. We'd rather finish at 5 and spend time with our families or significant others.\n- If you think more features and complex technology is the best way to solve all problems, we probably have a different philosophy and it won't be a good fit. Technology is great and we strive to make great, pragmatic decisions but we see it as a means to solve customer problems. For us the most valuable work at the moment is usually creating great and often simple solutions learned from a deep product understanding rather than improving performance.\n- There's lots of code in our codebase that other people have written, and while there are docs, comments and we have eliminated technical debt on a rolling basis, understanding other's people code can be time consuming and not feel productive. We understand working on a new codebase can be more fun and more varied, and if that's very important to you, you probably shouldn't join us. We expect it will take you some time to learn how things work and we will support you in that process, but if in the past you find yourself wanting to work on something new and novel after 6 months we would recommend you to look for somewhere else.\n\n>>>>>> โฌ TLDR;\n\nWe're an awesome small team who have work-life balance and a purpose driven product. \n\nPlease mention the word **ADULATION** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4xMDA=). \nOur Senior Full Stack Engineers are passionate about delivering high quality software, on both our backend and frontend services. They also coach and learn from their colleagues, and constantly better themselves and the people around them. \nAbout SH:24\n \nFirst off, thank you for considering a role with us!\nSH:24 is a pioneering online sexual and reproductive health service, delivered in partnership with the NHS. We make it easy for people to self-manage their sexual and reproductive health online by providing free STI test kits, contraception & treatment, information and advice - 24 hours a day. Weve won a host of awards and industry recognition for what we do, and were happy to say that our reach and services offered are expanding every day.\nWe are not-for-profit and passionate about delivering discreet, convenient and clinically safe sexual health services. Our vision is to make it easier and faster for people to access sexual and reproductive health services, no matter where they live; weve been doing it since 2013. Were also proud of our community and the people who work for us; those who have helped us shape a company that puts our users at the heart of everything we do by designing services that are easy to use, easy to access and easy to understand by all that need them.\nThe Role\nOur Development Team has recently split into four distinct workstreams to better focus on specific projects and keep context over several months of sustained work. These four streams have responsibilities that span a mix of BAU, Support and tool-improvement, as well as several new projects and the creation of customer-facing sites. We are looking for Senior Full Stack Engineers to help populate these new teams. \nAt SH:24 we like to keep our stack relatively straight-forward: we build our software primarily in Ruby, most of which is within Ruby on Rails. We have a mixture of full stack Ruby on Rails applications and REST APIs serving React components and in the near future we will look to principally build out our front-end in React. Additionally, all our applications run on AWS, with a deep stack of EC2, EKS, RDS, S3, SQS, Elasticache, all managed using Terraform. Every project is run through CircleCI and we deploy to most of them several times a day.\nWere big followers of Agile and have daily stand-ups, as well as weekly estimating sessions, refinement sessions, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies. We use Clubhouse.io as a kanban/project management tool. We also love pairing and you can expect to work closely with your team either through screen-sharing or, hopefully soon, in person!\n\nWhat We Need From You\n \n You'll be either an expert in Ruby or an experieneced polyglot with little Ruby experience as well as having a good knowledge of object oriented programming. Youll have extensive experience of working on a delivery team shipping a product to users. \nYoull have been involved in the front-end side of at least one product, and have a good grasp of what it takes to use HTML, CSS and JavaScript to make a robust and accessible UI for users. Any experience with modern front-end frameworks such as Gatsby or Next.js will be a bonus. \nYoull also have a good knowledge of databases and how they relate to ORMs. An understanding of SQL and DB performance at scale would be a real advantage. \nYoull have worked in an environment where developers are exposed to managing cloud infrastructure. You have a working knowledge of AWS and containerisation basics: Virtual servers, networking, Docker and Kubernetes. \nWell expect you to be able to work on entire features from inception through to delivery. Youll be able to assist in planning and architecture decisions throughout our service and communicate those decisions to other members of the team. \nWe are big testers here. Wed hope you are too, as well as following good design principles for creating code. You might not know what every letter of SOLID means (although it wouldnt hurt!) but you should be interested to learn and have a good understanding of what it means to create great code. \nYoull have worked in an Agile environment and be comfortable with its ceremonies and deploying regularly. In time, well need you to join our on-call rota for out of hours support. This is shared amongst all members of the development team and youll be compensated for those times that youre on-call. Finally, and most importantly, you will love to learn, share knowledge and help others. The team at SH:24 is great because we provide the support to each other for everyone to perform well.\nWhat Youll Get From Us\nWe are always interested in upskilling our employees, and are flexible in ways to do it: be it courses, books, onsite or remote learning with a colleague - whatever suits the situation best. If there is a particular skill or product you would like to work on and improve, well always try to accommodate you. \nWere also keen to allow the team to work in the way they want - you can choose the OS of your machine, your chair, standing desk, dual monitors etc. If there is anything you need dont be afraid to ask. \nAs well as remuneration in the region of ยฃ60-85k based on experience, SH:24 provides a number of other benefits, including 25 days of annual holiday (in addition to the days between Christmas and New Year), truly flexible working, excellent pension contributions and life insurance.\nEquality and Diversity\n \nAs an employer, SH:24 is committed to inclusivity.\nWe want to increase representation of currently under-represented groups to make SH:24 more diverse.\nBuild an inclusive team, where everyone is able to be themselves at work and feel supported, empowered, valued, respected, fairly treated and able to achieve their full potential.\nAs an inclusive employer we will not tolerate discrimination.\n\nInterview Process\nThe SH:24 interview process comprises three main sections: \n1. An interview with a member of the product team or senior management. This is primarily a culture-fit interview but also allows you to get a feel for the company and ask any final questions that may have come up through the process. \n2. A take-home code test. This is usually completed in Ruby but let us know if you'd like to complete it in another language. As an alternative we're also open to looking at any public code you can send us.\n3. A pairing interview, consisting of a conversation with two members of the team, along with a pairing exercise relating to the code test submitted. Usually well request an additional feature or suggest a possible refactor for you to try. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Senior, Engineer, Full Stack, React, JavaScript, Cloud, CSS, Ruby and Backend jobs that are similar:\n\n $70,000 — $120,000/year\n

> Theta is hiring great people to help make the next generation of software that empowers creative thinking. **Join us and help empower digital workers everywhere to solve their most challenging problems.**\n\n# ๐Ÿ‘‹ About Theta\n\nSoftware has improved dramatically in recent years and the problems our companies are solving today are more complex than ever. Yet we're still using docs, a tool specifically built for long-form writing, as our core tool for creative thinking and collaboration with our team.\n\n*We think we can do better.*\n\nAt [Theta](http://usetheta.com), we're building the missing visual thinking tool to empower you to effortlessly map out your ideas in an infinite 2d space, reference information from your other systems (code, designs, analytics), and make sense of complexity that is modern work. We believe visual thinking is the fastest, most effective way to think creatively and communicate with clarity across teams. \n\nWe have fantastic investors who have backed companies like Heroku, PagerDuty, and Circle CI.\n\n# ๐Ÿ’ช Our Team\n\nWe're builders and we care a ton about product quality, from the engineering to the small details of user experience. We're huge believers in remote + distributed teams and have worked remotely for large parts of our careers. When we became frustrated with the existing tools for creative thinking and collaboration, we decided to build Theta.\n\nOur CEO Eric is a full-stack engineer with a big focus on user experience and has lead product engineering teams at successful developer tools companies like Keen IO (exited) and Lightstep (recently acquired by ServiceNow). Our first engineering hire, Luiza, has lead engineering teams at ThoughtWorks, Dell, & Gap, is core contributor to Etherpad (the popular real-time collaborative text editor), and has significant experience building multi-player products.\n\nWe're fully distributed and will always be a remote-first company. We're looking for people that appreciate what remote work is like and are excited to contribute to making us one of the world's best remote teams.\n\n# โญ Our Values\n\n- **Aim to delight:** We think software can be a lot more delightful to use. There's a certain feel to the work produced by people who care deeply about quality, and we want to be those people.\n- **Speed wins:** We think that all else being equal, the fastest company wins. We aim to deliver fast and impress our users with a constant stream of improvement.\n- **Kindness first:** We think there's no reason to be anything other than kind. We think you can have a very high bar and be very direct while also being very kind.\n- **Build together:** We think the best work is produced by groups of people with high trust who collaborate deeply to come up with creative solutions. This means exchanging help and ideas on our work very frequently.\n\n# ๐Ÿš€ Impact you'll have\n\nWe're looking for people who are excited to:\n\n- Participate in crafting the direction of our product\n- Build a product where interactions are instant\n- Help build our company culture & make Theta an incredible place to work\n- Create a best-in-class multi-player product that feels butter smooth\n- Make the world's best visual thinking and collaboration tool\n- Use the product you work on every day\n\n# ๐Ÿค– Our Stack\n\n- React/Redux\n- Tailwind\n- 100% Typescript\n- Express.js\n- Postgres\n- Vercel, Render, AWS S3\n\n# ๐ŸŽฏ Who would do well on this team\n\nYou'd thrive on this team if some of the points below apply to you:\n\n- Excited to join a tiny engineering team and have significant, direct responsibility for major projects\n- Fluent in Javascript or Typescript and some of our core libraries & technologies: React, Redux, Tailwind, Express, Postgres\n- Are very independent and self-directed, identifying the right things to work on and solving your own problems\n- Worked at 1 or more startups before and know what it's like\n- Care about browser performance and are will dive deep to ensure things are fast\n- Comfortable debugging gnarly UI issues as well as building clean and performant APIs\n- Care about product quality and having a solid & fast test suite\n\n# ๐Ÿงฐ What the job is like\n\nSome of the things that define what it's like to be a Theta engineer:\n\n- We write a ton of code. We don't do long planning sessions โ€“ we dive right in and start figuring things out as we go.\n- We over-communicate: We communicate early and often. We write detailed PR descriptions, bug reports, or docs for our ideas.\n- We work to achieve pixel perfect designs.\n- We're accountable for the quality and delivery of our work.\n- We ask for help when we need it (instead of disappearing) and we offer help when our teammates need it (instead of being focused only on your own work).\n- We talk about what the user experiences often during our work. \n\nPlease mention the words **MODEL METAL RESPONSE** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4xMDA=). **$120k/year. 100% remote. Flexible schedule.**\n\nSoflyy is seeking an experienced full stack engineer to help us build the next iteration of our state-of-the-art drag & drop website builder for WordPress.\n\nYou can do l33tcode? More power to you. But we donโ€™t care. \n\n**We are looking for people that can craft quality software.**\n\nOn top of software engineering abilities, here's what we care about:\n - UI / UX\n - Ability to design solutions that are good both from a technical standpoint and from a user standpoint - i.e. clean code, good architecture, good UI/UX\n - Ability to take on a product ownership role - we say "build feature X" and give you wide latitude to build whatever you feel is best, and you bring us a kick-ass version of feature X \n\nAs a fully-remote team, we don't care what time zone you're in or at what times you're working. We only care about the quality of your work. We keep meetings and chat to the absolute minimum to foster focus-time.\n\nYou'll spend a lot of time in Vue (with TypeScript and Vuex), but you're also expected to work with WordPress APIs and PHP. We do E2E testing with Cypress, and integration and unit tests with Jest.\n\nKnowledge of Vue is a plus, but if you're experienced with React jumping ship is easy enough - weโ€™ve done it, and our codebase follows best-practices to make it easy to understand everything.\n\nYou're expected to be self driven, solve problem and make decisions on your own. We trust you to create the best product you can (you can always ask for help though!).\n\nWe consider good communication skills very important because of the above.\n\n**Our stack:**\n - Vue (w/ Vuetify and Vuex)\n - PHP\n - WordPress\n - TypeScript (strict mode, 100% coverage)\n - Psalm (static analysis for PHP, similar to TypeScript)\n - Cypress / Jest\n - GitHub\n\n**Requirements**\n\nMust haves:\n - Vue / React / Angular experience\n - PHP experience\n - All the other usual stuff (knowledge of Git & CSS, common sense, etc.)\n\nNice to have:\n - An eye for design\n - TypeScript experience is a plus\n - WordPress experience is a plus\n - Knowledge of testing modern apps is a plus\n\n**How We Work**\n\nYouโ€™ll be working closely with the founder (me, Louis), three other senior engineers, and one designer.\n\nEverything is async. We avoid meetings and interruptions.\n\nWe use GitHub and Basecamp to track tasks and monitor progress. Instead of a daily standup, everyone posts progress updates in Basecamp. A list of GitHub issues will be assigned to you, and youโ€™ll implement the fixes and features in them and then submit a PR, which will be reviewed by one of the other engineers or the founder.\n\nVery occasionally weโ€™ll do a Zoom call to go over something, but thatโ€™s rare (think 1 or 2 per month).\n\nIn the beginning, weโ€™re happy to do as many Zoom calls as you want to get you onboarded and up to speed.\n\nItโ€™s very easy to get started and youโ€™ll be shipping features in no time. The last two engineers we hired did less than one day of onboarding on Zoom, and were shipping significant features at the end of their first week.\n\nOur code base is high quality and very well-architected. We have CI, automated testing, TypeScript on strict mode, types on our PHP, etc.\n\n**What We Offer**\n - $120,000k/year\n - Fully remote\n - No scheduling requirements - you can work whenever you want\n - A work environment free from politics / meetings / interruptions / bs\n - No overtime / crunch time / rushing / stress. We are a calm company: https://basecamp.com/books/calm\n - $2k/year learning materials budget\n\n**Interview Process**\n\nEmail Louis (the founder): [email protected].\n\nIf you sound like a good fit, weโ€™ll schedule a short interview (~1 hour on Zoom) where weโ€™ll have a conversation and ask some questions to get a sense of your software engineering abilities and experience. And of course weโ€™re happy to answer any questions you have about us.\n\nYou will be asked a few coding questions. If you are proficient in JavaScript and PHP, youโ€™ll know the answers. There are no algorithms/leetcode questions. The questions touch on practical and common tasks, such as working with arrays.\n\nWe are expecting to make a hiring decision in the next ~3 weeks. We are flexible, and are happy to give you some time to wind things down at your current position if necessary. \n\nPlease mention the words **OLIVE SUGGEST PAYMENT** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4xMDA=). This is a feature to avoid spam applicants. Companies can search these words to find applicants that read this and see they're human.\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n $120,000 — $120,000/year\n

The platform combines a simple, modern UI with enterprise-grade tools, allowing technology companies to plan and manage their projects effectively, visualize progress across the organization, and define deadlines and milestones based upon data and predictive modeling.\n\nWhat originally started as a Hack Day project has grown into a product that is used by more than 1,500 companies across the globe...and we have big plans to continue our growth. We currently have 35 employees worldwide, an HQ in New York City, and weโ€™re backed by some of the best investors in tech.\n\nClubhouseโ€™s engineering team is a diverse mix of individuals with experience at large and small companies and with a range of technical skill. Weโ€™re growing our Frontend Team and are looking for both mid-level and senior engineers who have experience working across the web stack. While most work will concentrate on building front end features and scaling our existing web systems, you may also work on projects that involve building components that interact with our infrastructure or database.\n\nOur Frontend is written in JavaScript and we use React as our library of choice. Learn more about the tools the team uses to develop some of our products [here.] (https://clubhouse.io/blog/behind-the-new-clubhouse-saas-marketing-site-tech-stack/)\n\n### **What we look for**\n\n* Previous experience providing technical and architectural guidance \n* Previous work experience, ideally as a front-end engineer, (full stack with a front-end focus will also be considered), working on an application with thousands of end-users\n* Experience working in React \n* Experience working with JS build tools like Webpack and Babel\n* Strong prioritization and communication skills and comfort managing priorities that shift\n* Collaboration skills: youโ€™ve worked effectively with product and design teams in the past\n\n### **What we offer**\n\n* In addition to a competitive salary and benefits, weโ€™re offering a meaningful equity stake in the company.\n* Youโ€™ll be working on a product built specifically for software companies, with the aim of improving the lives of its users. We want you to help guide the product, not just build it for us.\n* You will be part of a small, professional and fast-moving team. Our work day is not broken up by meetings. Our codebase is small and well-tested. We contribute to the open source movement. \n\nPlease mention the words **CROSS GARAGE COMPANY** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4xMDA=). \nLeveraging your experience in building and maintaining complex business applications, you will take part in the development of both APIs and user interfaces.\n\n\n\nWe are looking for someone who is eager to:\n\n\n* Collaborate with other developers to ship new features\n\n* Be in charge of the overall architecture of applications you build\n\n* Ensure that we have the right tests and structure in place to make sure that we can move quickly without breaking everything\n\n* Share your knowledge of full-stack development principles and best practices with the team\n\n* Keep learning new technologies and be on the look-out for new ideas that we should try out\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat we are looking for\n\n\n* Solid knowledge of JavaScript and Typescript\n\n* Experience with modern JavaScript and Typescript tooling and libraries\n\n* Experience with back-end applications in Node.js\n\n* Experience with front-end applications in Angular/React or similar frameworks\n\n* Quality-oriented mindset: testing, code reviews, code quality, etc.\n\n* Awareness of performance considerations\n\n* A passion for simple, maintainable, and readable code that balances pragmatism and performance\n\n\n\n\n\nBonus points:\n\n\n* Experience with AWS or GCP\n\n* Experience with the micro-frontends architecture\n\n* Experience with the micro-services architecture\n\n\n\n\n\n How do we build our products?\n\nFor the frontend, we have adopted the micro-frontends architecture for building our user interface. Each team has the freedom to pick their own framework (Angular/React) for the frontend they need to build. All SPAs we build use our UI library and get plugged into the shell. We also build a multitude of SDKs from Web and Mobile (iOS, Android) to CTV and Unity.\n\nFor the backend, we have multiple services (APIs and Lambdas) written in Javascript and Typescript. We leverage PostgreSQL and DynamoDB as our main databases and manage our infrastructure with Terraform and Cloudformation. The principles of infrastructure as code are very important to us and we commit everything including KMS-encrypted secrets. Our most important services have 100% code coverage and we deploy our pipeline runners on GCP on a Kubernetes cluster.\n\nWe process hundreds of millions of requests per day and are building our analytics platform on Kinesis Firehose, AWS S3, EMR jobs, and TimescaleDB to provide performant analytics for our clients. Internally we use Athena and Redash.\n\nWe rely on a multitude of AWS/GCP services for building, deploying, serving, monitoring, and scaling our services. We use Gitlab for our code and CI/CD. To manage our issues we use Jira.\n\n\n Our vision as a team\n\nWe are building a product and engineering team that is strongly committed to a high level of quality in our products and code. We believe that automation is the key to consistently achieving that along with velocity of development, joy, and pride in what we deliver.\n\nAt Didomi we are organized into feature teams and work with 2-week sprints. We do our best to avoid pointless meetings. The majority of the engineering team works remotely from all over the world, the only hard requirement is a 4-hour overlap with CET working hours.\n\nWe rely on automated tests of all sorts (unit, integration, linters, you-name-it!) and continuous integration/delivery to build flexible applications that are able to evolve without breaking. We trust that it enables engineers to focus on the quality of their code and iterate fast without fears of breaking stuff. And when we break stuff, we fix it, create a post-mortem and learn from our mistakes.\n\n\n Recruitment Process\n\n\n* An intro call with a Tech Lead or the CTO\n\n* A code challenge to build a simple API or a SPA. This is used as the basis of discussion for the next step. You can find our challenges on our github page (https://github.com/didomi/challenges). We also accept suitable open source projects in place of the challenge.\n\n* A 1h and 15min code review session and architecture discussion with 3-4 Didomi engineers\n\n* A set of 1:1 30-minute calls with the CTO, engineers, and (occasionally) a product manager\n\n\n\n\nFor the architecture discussion, we plan to sketch an architecture (think of APIs, clients, queues, jobs, etc) and discuss options and tradeoffs as we would on a normal day at Didomi.\n\n\n We understand you already have a job, obligations (and maybe a personal life!) so we'll work with you to make sure it doesn't take up too much of your time while still providing a good basis for a very concrete discussion. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to JavaScript, Senior, Engineer, Full Stack, API and Mobile jobs that are similar:\n\n $70,000 — $120,000/year\n

We expect that as we shift back to normal, and we may come into the office to synchronise periodically and enjoy each otherโ€™s company.
