We believe independent restaurants are fundamental to society; they provide a space for people to connect and talk to each other. \nAs the restaurant industry resurfaces we are eager to bring it back stronger than ever by optimising the food supply chain, building new restaurant - supplier connections through our marketplace, and saving chefs valuable time. Founded by former restaurant owners & backed by a stellar board from the likes of Benchmark & Atomico, we are poised to deliver on that promise. \n\nEngineering at REKKI\n\nBeing part of the tech team at REKKI means being part of building something that does not currently exist. It is an exciting and rewarding challenge. # How do you apply?\n\nThis job post has been closed by the poster, which means they probably have enough applicants now. Please do not apply.
You'll form a key part of a team of developers building React-based components and applications to support our SaaS eCommerce and headless platforms.\n\nAs an example of what you'll be working on: we're building **headless eCommerce sites with Gatsby** and rich **interactive product customisers with Next.js on Vercel**.\n\nYou start your day in a team Stand Up discussing progress you made yesterday, listening to your team members describe their current issues and dropping some knowledge bombs on how you โsolved this last timeโ. Youโre working from home today, so you pay the pet tax and encourage your four-legged-friend wave to the camera before logging off.\n\nFirst up youโve got a pair-programming session with a Junior Developer in your team to help them through a tough search component that theyโve been working on. Theyโve been steadily improving under your experienced wing and are turning into a really productive team member.\n\nAfter lunch youโll set your Slack status and turn on Do Not Disturb for a couple of hours while you debug a weird issue with a customerโs site. Thereโs been a change to the out of stock logic recently to support multiple warehouses. You update your unit test suite to cover this unexpected scenario and tell the Project Manager the good news! You push your feature branch to Bitbucket and watch Bitbucket Pipelines build your artifact and prove that your tests pass.\n\nYour JIRA issue has automatically transitioned to โIn Code Reviewโ and you open your pull request, studying your diff carefully before assigning it to your team mate for a sanity check.\n\nTomorrow (assuming all is well!) youโll merge your pull request into a release branch and let Pipelines deploy it to Staging where it will be regression tested by the QA Team and their bank of automated tests. It should be out to Production by the end of the week, providing we can get through the testing and get client sign off by 2pm on Thursday.\n\n**If you read this and it sounds like your ideal job โ we want you on the team!**\n\n### What you'll be doing\n\nThe following should give you an idea of how youโll be expected to typically be spending your time. Itโs not set in stone and it may change from week-to-week, but it gives an idea of what is expected from the role.\n\n#### Software Development (80%)\n\nThe majority of your time will be spent working with your team to deliver software that meets the needs of our customers. This isnโt time that youโll spend entirely in your editor, thereโs stand up, sprint planning, scoping, architecting and designing that youโll take part in to make sure weโre building exactly what we need in the right way.\n\nGiven your experience, a portion of this time is expected to be spent assisting other team members in delivering their work effectively.\n\n#### Process and Tooling Improvements (10%)\n\nMaking sure that we donโt sit still and keep evolving the way we build and deliver software is a critical investment of time, particularly from a team member with your experience. Use this time to try that tool you read about and see if itโs worthy of being a part of our toolchain.\n\n#### Personal Development (10%)\n\nKeeping up with new software releases, development practices, horror stories and post mortems are an essential part of any Software Developerโs time! Use this time to push forward your objectives and research tools and techniques you need to stay productive.\n \n\nPlease mention the words **PELICAN ABILITY HAMSTER** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4xMg==). \nECi Lasso is seeking a Senior Front-End Developer to continue to provide the best in Software Solutions to small and medium sized businesses\n \n\nLasso is the developer of the leading cloud-based, on-demand Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software for the new-home-building industry. \n \n\nWe’re looking for a strong technical front-end engineer who really enjoys the challenges of state-management in user interfaces. Our app was initially written in Angular 1.x, but our approach moves it close to how modern apps use React - no two-way data binding, no global state, data is passed down and events bubble up (via event handlers.) \n \n\nState is managed by a Reflux-like approach with RxJS streams. A state stream consumes various action-streams, and produces a state object that’s passed to the top-level angular directive.\n\nWe’re looking for someone who really loves writing front-end software and solving the various technical challenges that arise - optimizing time-to-first-meaningful-paint, optimizing bundle size and page load time, low input latency, etc. \n \n\nIf you’re excited about progressive web apps, efficient resource caching with service workers or experimenting with the newest Javascript-targeting transpiling languages, please don’t hesitate to reach out. \n \n\nAs a fully remote team, communication is extremely important - there is no chance to drop in on interesting discussions around the water cooler, or to see if someone is busy just by glancing at their desk. We have systems to signal busy-ness; regular meetings and stand-ups to disseminate information, frequent one-on-ones to ensure there are no frustrations building up, a code of conduct and a formal complaint process to resolve conflicts early-on. \n \n\nAs a key member of our front-end team, you’ll:\n\n\n* \n\nImplement requirements provided by the UX developer\n\n\n* \n\nTackle difficult coding problems like caching, concurrency and state management\n\n\n* \n\nWrite effective high-quality code with a focus on performance and maintainability\n\n\n* \n\nImprove our architecture\n\n\n* \n\nMaintain and optimize our front-end build processes\n\n\n* \n\nCreate reliable tests and work closely with our QA team for end-to-end testing\n\n\n\n\n\nRequirements:\n\n\n* \n\nYou thrive in a self-directed and open work environment. There’s no boss breathing down your neck, no deadlines, no fixed work hours and no in-office requirements. It’s really important that you can manage your time well, and you know what you need in order to do your job well (e.g. what work hours to pick so you have enough time to communicate with team members effectively)\n\n\n* \n\nLots of experience building and maintaining single-page apps\n\n\n* \n\nFamiliarity with multiple modern Javascript and CSS frameworks\n\n\n* \n\nExperience with modern front-end build processes and current trends like new languages transpiling to Javascript or compiling to WASM\n\n\n* \n\nFamiliarity with functional programming and bonus points for reactive programming experience\n\n\n* \n\nExperience with automated testing of client-side Javascript (both integration and unit tests)\n\n\n* \n\nGood understanding of front-end performance optimizations\n\n\n\n\n\nInterested?\n\nLasso’s vision is to be the technology hub for new home sales in North America by providing a unique combination of remarkable software and expert services.
