Jane Software is hiring a

Remote Senior Developer Grow My Clinic

\nWe're looking for Senior Developers to join our Grow My Clinic team. This is a brand new team we are assembling to help our allied health practitioner customers grow their practices while having more time to deliver the services their patients need. Weโ€™re working on a multi-year green-field project and are looking for an experienced software professional to play an important role in realizing our vision for Grow My Clinic. This is a significant opportunity to solve a key set of problems for our rapidly customer base and to further Janeโ€™s mission of Helping the Helpers.\n\n\nLike with all positions at Jane, this position is a remote position, allowing you to work anywhere you want across Canada. Building a delighted team who can delight our customers is part of Janeโ€™s DNA. In our most recent company-wide health check, 99% of our team agreed that our founders demonstrate people are important to Janeโ€™s success. On top of that, 98% of our team felt Manager cares about them as human beings and that they are supported when needing to arrange time off from work. Weโ€™d never claim to be perfect, but weโ€™re working hard to listen to our people and improve each day. \n\n\nWe really want the people who work at Jane to love being here, so it's important that we start with a bit about what makes our company unique and try to be as transparent as possible. Our values also provide some insights into Jane and hopefully, youโ€™ll have a better idea if this might be the kind of company you want to be part of. \n\n\nBefore we were Jane, our Co-Founders were solving problems for their own clinics not realizing that a few years later, this team would grow to support tens of thousands of healthcare practices in more than 60 countries. Our platform is now helping to modernize the world of practice management software. We enable the likes of physiotherapists, mental health counsellors, chiropractors, and other allied health practitioners to run their practices in a digital-first way through features such as online booking, charting, scheduling, telehealth, and billing along with an evolving library of features. You can see more of them here. Although weโ€™ve grown, still to this day, weโ€™re rooted in solving clinicsโ€™ problems and making sure we donโ€™t lose sight of Janeโ€™s vision. \n\n\nWe have remained profitable for the past seven years, weโ€™re product-led and growing organically (and responsibly) to the point where 85% of our customer growth is either from customer referrals or word of mouth. Growth like this is unique, especially in the world of SaaS, and it doesnโ€™t happen by chance. We have a brilliant team of over 400 Janers who are doing an amazing job of listening to our customers, building what they need, and providing industry-leading support. We pride ourselves on flexibility & autonomy, some of our team block out their calendars to pick up their children from school (and this is normal at Jane), and we even have a #kids channel in Slack. \n\n\nWeโ€™re not a clock-in clock-out system-type environment. With that being said, weโ€™re not going to paint the picture of a perfect environment either. Weโ€™re a company thatโ€™s scaling quickly, we have many moving parts, many of us are doing this for the first time and sometimes, we donโ€™t have processes in place or clear views which can require a lot of resourcefulness and a passion for problem-solving. \n\n\nWith all that to say, if youโ€™re looking for an environment where you can grow, stretch yourself, and work with some incredibly talented people on problems that are positively impacting people's lives, Jane could be the place for you.\n\n\nCompensation Expectations for the Role\n\n\nJaneโ€™s committed to paying our team members fairly, clearly, and above all, paying for growth. This role has a minimum annual salary of $117,100 and a maximum annual salary of $182,900. As you may have noticed, this salary range is quite large, and this is intentional to account for the growth someone will experience in the role throughout their time at Jane (i.e., from building the skills, to accomplished, to highly proficient, all the way to achieving excellence in the role). When hiring talented folks to join the Jane team, weโ€™ve found that new team members are best set up for success when hired with the expectation of being fully accomplished in the role, which for this role would reflect a salary between $139,000 to $146,300. It's also possible to join Jane at a salary above or below this, which would mean a salary below $139,000 which typically reflects someone who has all the potential to be fully accomplished in the role but doesn't yet possess all the skills required, while a salary above $146,300 is typically for individuals who are currently in this role at Jane and had the opportunity to make a significant positive impact on our customers, product and company with deep Jane knowledge.\n\n\nAt Jane, we pay for growth, which means that youโ€™ll continue to have conversations about your career development with your manager and see your compensation grow over time as you build an amazing career with us.\n\n\nMore information on Jane's benefits package can be found here.\n\n\n\nThe impact you could haveโ€ฆ \n* Your role will have significant responsibilities for contributing to the technical vision for the Grow My Clinic product, helping us move quickly, fail fast, and set the stage for significant scale in the future.\n* You will have the opportunity to participate in key decisions on infrastructure, data model, services, and interface, and be a force multiplier on what we can achieve going forward.\n* You will have the opportunity to build on your leadership and mentoring skills, working with your fellow developers to grow their skills and confidence.\n* You will use your experience in building quality software quickly to help us show one another what is possible when we combine effort and ability.\n* You will help us make a material impact on our customersโ€™ ability to deliver their services to more patients, and subsequently help those patients improve the quality of their lives.\n* By helping us be true to our value for building delightful products, you will help us create advocates in the market and fuel the growth we can achieve.\n\n\n\nThe experience we feel we need:\n* Someone who can independently take charge of a specific component within our product, making swift and decisive progress. While collaboration remains a key part of our culture, we need someone who is confident in their ability to own and deliver a crucial piece of our application.\n\n\n* Lead the development and maintenance of critical components within the Grow My Clinic product, covering both backend and frontend aspects.\n* Utilize your expertise in technologies such as Ruby on Rails, React, PostgreSQL, and AWS to build robust, scalable solutions.\n* Act as a technical mentor, guiding less experienced developers and fostering a collaborative team environment.\n\n\n* Extensive full-stack development experience, with a strong grasp of infrastructure, backend, and frontend technologies.\n* Competency in containerization and orchestration tools, with exposure to platforms like Kubernetes or Amazon Elastic Container Service.\n\n\n* Significant experience in at least one of the following areas: designing and integrating APIs, developing modern, responsive web application interfaces, handling sensitive data (PHI and PII) with a focus on security and compliance, implementing DevOps practices, including CI/CD, and building reliable, observable systems, leading 0 to 1 software product development initiatives. \n\n\n* Proactive and capable Senior Developer who can bring their wealth of experience to our team, helping to drive the Grow My Clinic product forward efficiently and effectively.\n\n\n\n\n\nAt Jane, weโ€™re committed to fostering an environment that allows you to come to work as your truest self. We believe itโ€™s important to actively recognize, embrace, and celebrate our differences in order to make Jane an inclusive, equitable, and diverse workplace.\n\n\nWe want to build a team of people who make conversations rich with perspective and experience. We are committed to listening to every voice in order to learn and grow because doing this will allow us to meet the needs of the diverse community of helpers that Jane serves.\n\n\nWe do not tolerate discrimination, prejudice, or oppressive isms of any kind. Employment is decided on the basis of qualifications, merit, experience, and the needs of the Jane community. We encourage anyone who requires accommodation or adjustments throughout the interview process to let us know, and we will do our best to support you. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Developer, Amazon, Swift, DevOps, Ruby, Senior and Backend jobs that are similar:\n\n $60,000 — $105,000/year\n

Weโ€™d never claim to be perfect, but weโ€™re working hard to listen to our people and improve each day.\n\n\nWe really want the people who work at Jane to love being here, so it's important that we start with a bit about what makes our company unique and try to be as transparent as possible. Our values also provide some insights into Jane and hopefully, youโ€™ll have a better idea if this might be the kind of company you want to be part of.\n\n\nBefore we were Jane, our Co-Founders were solving problems for their own clinics not realizing that a few years later, this team would grow to support tens of thousands of healthcare practices in more than 60 countries. Although weโ€™ve grown, still to this day, weโ€™re rooted in solving clinicsโ€™ problems and making sure we donโ€™t lose sight of Janeโ€™s vision.\n\n\nWe have remained profitable for the past seven years, weโ€™re product-led and growing organically (and responsibly) to the point where 85% of our customer growth is either from customer referrals or word of mouth. Growth like this is unique, especially in the world of SaaS, and it doesnโ€™t happen by chance. We have a brilliant team of over 400 Janers who are doing an amazing job of listening to our customers, building what they need, and providing industry-leading support. We pride ourselves on flexibility & autonomy, some of our team block out their calendars to pick up their children from school (and this is normal at Jane), and we even have a #kids channel in Slack.\n\n\nWeโ€™re not a clock-in clock-out system-type environment. With that being said, weโ€™re not going to paint the picture of a perfect environment either. Weโ€™re a company thatโ€™s scaling quickly, we have many moving parts, many of us are doing this for the first time and sometimes, we donโ€™t have processes in place or clear views which can require a lot of resourcefulness and a passion for problem-solving.\n\n\nWith all that to say, if youโ€™re looking for an environment where you can grow, stretch yourself, and work with some incredibly talented people on problems that are positively impacting people's lives, Jane could be the place for you.\n\n\nCompensation Expectations for the Role\n\n\nJaneโ€™s committed to paying our team members fairly, clearly, and above all, paying for growth. This role has a minimum annual salary of $90,000 and a maximum annual salary of $135,000. As you may have noticed, this salary range is quite large, and this is intentional to account for the growth someone will experience in the role throughout their time at Jane (i.e., from building the skills, to accomplished, to highly proficient, all the way to achieving excellence in the role). When hiring talented folks to join the Jane team, weโ€™ve found that new team members are best set up for success when hired with the expectation of being fully accomplished in the role, which for this role would reflect a salary between $106,900 to $112,500. It's also possible to join Jane at a salary above or below this, which would mean a salary below $106,900 which typically reflects someone who has all the potential to be fully accomplished in the role but doesn't yet possess all the skills required, while a salary above $112,500 is typically for individuals who are currently in this role at Jane and had the opportunity to make a significant positive impact on our customers, product and company with deep Jane knowledge.\n\n\nAt Jane, we pay for growth, which means that youโ€™ll continue to have conversations about your career development with your manager and see your compensation grow over time as you build an amazing career with us.\n\n\n\nThe impact you could haveโ€ฆ \n* Collaborate closely with your team, technical leaders and cross-functional groups to ship impactful features that directly benefit our customers.\n* With more seniority, take on a leadership role by helping to drive projects, set goals and mentor fellow developers to foster growth and excellence within the team.\n\n\n\nThe experience we feel we need:\n* Recent Ruby on Rails experience as well as TypeScript and React. Jane Software is hiring a

Remote Senior Software Developer Payroll & Compensation

\nWe're looking for an experienced full-stack senior developer to join the Payroll & Compensation team. The Payroll & Compensation team is a brand new mission critical team that will enable payrolls and streamline compensation for our customers. You will be a key player in establishing and shaping this team that directly contributes to Janeโ€™s mission and big rocks. This is a leadership position where you will not only be solving critical customer problems but also set technical direction for the team. \n\n\nLike with all positions at Jane, this position is a remote position, allowing you to work anywhere you want across Canada. You can see more of them \nhere. Weโ€™re a company thatโ€™s scaling quickly, we have many moving parts, many of us are doing this for the first time and sometimes, we donโ€™t have processes in place or clear views which can require a lot of resourcefulness and a passion for problem-solving.\n\n\nWith all that to say, if youโ€™re looking for an environment where you can grow, stretch yourself, and work with some incredibly talented people on problems that are positively impacting people's lives, Jane could be the place for you.\n\n\nCompensation Expectations for the Role\n \nJaneโ€™s committed to paying our team members fairly, clearly, and above all, paying for growth. It's also possible to join Jane at a salary above or below this, which would mean a salary below $139,000 which typically reflects someone who has all the potential to be fully accomplished in the role but doesn't yet possess all the skills required, while a salary above $146,300 is typically for individuals who are currently in this role at Jane and had the opportunity to make a significant positive impact on our customers, product and company with deep Jane knowledge. At Jane, we pay for growth, which means that youโ€™ll continue to have conversations about your career development with your manager and see your compensation grow over time as you build an amazing career with us.\n \nMore information on Jane's benefits package can be found here \n\n\nLearn more about Jane's approach to compensation here\n\n\n\nThe impact you could have...\n* Own and contribute to the technical direction that will shape the trajectory of the Payroll & Compensation Team\n* Coach and mentor others on the team \n* Collaborate with engineers, technical leaders and cross-functional groups to ship impactful features that directly impacts our customers and company metrics\n* Improve engineering standards, tooling and processes\n* Identify, scope, and lead large technical projects, laying the groundwork for early-stage product to iteratively evolve and scale, and taming complexity and shoring up reliability of existing systems\n* Make effective tradeoffs that consider business priorities, user experience, and a sustainable technical foundation\n* Contribute to the codebase as a hands-on engineer\n\n\n\nThe experience we feel we needโ€ฆ\n* Extensive experience in building scalable platforms\n* Strong understanding of development best practices, modern technologies, and design patterns and apply them to the development lifecycle for your team to improve the teamโ€™s codebase\n* Comfortable in Ruby on Rails, Java, C#, Python or Go, navigating codebases with different languages and tools\n* 5-8 years of experience shipping high quality products \n* Ability to work well cross-functionally and earn trust from co-workers at all levels\n* Experience mentoring and growing senior engineers as their technical leader\n* Have experience in ensuring great user experience and ease of use of features and products you build\n* Have experience with financial product companies and interest in financial products and markets (nice to have)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAt Jane, weโ€™re committed to fostering an environment that allows you to come to work as your truest self. We believe itโ€™s important to actively recognize, embrace, and celebrate our differences in order to make Jane an inclusive, equitable, and diverse workplace. \n\n\nWe want to build a team of people who make conversations rich with perspective and experience. We are committed to listening to every voice in order to learn and grow because doing this will allow us to meet the needs of the diverse community of helpers that Jane serves. \n\n\nWe do not tolerate discrimination, prejudice, or oppressive isms of any kind. Employment is decided on the basis of qualifications, merit, experience, and the needs of the Jane community. We encourage anyone who requires accommodation or adjustments throughout the interview process to let us know, and we will do our best to support you. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Developer, Payroll, Design, Python, Ruby and Senior jobs that are similar:\n\n $70,000 — $110,000/year\n

By producing top-quality open source software and related tooling, we are creating a new category of cloud computing that prioritizes high performance, robust security, and top-notch developer and operator experiences. And we believe that the best way to build such technology is by building a positive culture based on our values.\n\n\nFermyon is committed to a culture of belonging, inclusivity, and respect. Many developers and operators are just now hearing about it for the first time.
