## About SalonInteractive\n\nSalonInteractive is a still-small but rapidly growing startup in the Health & Beauty eCommerce space. We provide an extremely easy way for salons to sell product online by linking them directly to distributors around the US. You could think of it as an out-of-the-box ready platform for dropshipping, but it's more complex in terms of both code and partnerships than that makes it sound. The complexity gives us interesting problems to work on in the near term, and makes the business defensible in the long term.\n\nOur current goals can be summed up simply: provide a more modern, more beautiful, more streamlined experience for all of our partners, of which there are many. Salons, stylists, consumers, distributors, brands, us (SalonInteractive), and more. We are accomplishing this goal by redesigning and rearchitecting much our core application. It's an exciting time.\n\nWe want to deliver a product that is high quality inside and out. One that helps our partners capitalize on real opportunities, and gives us flexibility to meet the as-yet-unknown needs of the future. To this end, the engineering team works closely with stakeholders to combine their understanding of problems and opportunities with our understanding of engineering to craft effective solutions.\n\n## Your Day-to-day\n\nThis is a hands-on, fully-remote programming position. You'll be working on our Ruby on Rails based eCommerce platform backend, as well as the Tailwind/AlpineJS frontend. The core technologies youโll be working withโand need to be familiar for success in this roleโare Ruby, HTML, CSS, and JS.\n\nWe have a large number of high-impact projects planned for the platform. You'll work closely with the CTO, our existing development team, and other stakeholders both within the company and outside of it to understand needs and develop solutions. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing and deploying code to best serve our customers and partners.\n\nAs mentioned before, we have quite a bit of work planned for the next few months, so an ideal applicant will be ready to hit the ground running. Despite the amount of work we have, we strive to minimize context switchingโif youโre on a project, you shouldnโt expect to be bombarded with unrelated tweaks on other projects here and there thoughโas with any companyโit does happen to some extent.\n\nWe're a small but quickly growing post-revenue startup. As one of the early hires, there is opportunity for this to be a high impact position. An appropriately ambitious individual will have huge opportunity to lay the groundwork of the company's future.\n\n## Some Notes on Culture\n\nHere are some of our values. Theyโre always being refined based on what works and what doesnโt.\n\n- We value clear, concise communication.\n- Ask questions. You can only produce high quality work if you have a clear understanding of the problem and the constraints.\n- Contextโunderstanding our partners and their stakeholdersโempowers individual contributors to find better solutions.\n- Free up time for interesting problems by automating repeatable tasks and learning your tools inside and out.\n- No process for processโ sake. No meetings for meetingsโ sake. But we respect that there *is* a place for both.\n- Individual productivity is important, and hugely dependent on a minimally distracting, supportive environment.\n\n# Responsibilities\n
When you start, this is what you can expect to work on.\n\n- Designing the technical architecture of large new components for the system\n- Implementation of features on the platform\n- Implementing designs in CSS/HTML/JS\n- Configuring and tuning middleware services, Redis, ElasticSearch, etc.\n- Integrating with 3rd party APIs and developing our own for public consumption \n\n# Requirements\n## Qualifications\n\nThese are the must haves. Basically: be a Ruby web developer!\n\n- 3โ5+ years of industry experience\n- Hands-on programming experience with Ruby\n- Proficient in HTML, CSS, and JS\n- Git experience\n- Understand the webโREST, HTTP verbs, basic HTTP status codes, etc.\n- Familiarity with the Unix command line\n\n## Ideal Qualifications\n\nIf you fulfill the above *and* have experience with a few of the below, definitely get in touch.\n\n- Hands-on programming experience with Ruby on Rails\n- Enterprise software development\n- Strong UX/UI chops\n- Deep understanding building complex database queries, particularly MySQL\n- Opinionated about designโvisual and code\n- A portfolio of personal projects (not necessarily code related) \n\nPlease mention the words **SHIFT FINISH FRAME** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4xNDY=). \nWork Location\n\nHome Office or any SUSE Location near the CET Timezone\n\n\nOur Product \n\nAt this position you will work on the Open Build Service (OBS). A Linux release engineering platform to collaborate on building and distributing software. The OBS helps SUSE to ship software to its customers. For a wide range of operating systems and hardware architectures.\n\n\nOur Team \n\nWe are a team of Web Developers spread all over Europe. Most of us work from home, a few of us you find in the SUSE headquarter in Nuremberg/Germany. All of us focus on the full stack that makes up our application. From UI/UX design using HTML/CSS/Javascript, over Creating Business Logic with Ruby on Rails to Data Modeling on our SQL database. We also practice the DevOps culture and Operate & Observe our code in production environments. This means each and every one of us takes care of the complete life cycle of the code we produce. We conceive, write, test, instrument, deploy, roll back and debug our code! We also believe in the agile principles and organize our work together in the SCRUM framework. https://openbuildservice.org/bs-team\n\nThis position will report to the Engineering Manager of the team, Hendrik Vogelsang.\n\n\nOur Values \n\nHere is what we identify as our team culture and how those attitudes translate into our daily practices. We are looking for people whose personal values have some overlap with ours. We value: Customers. By understanding peoples’ goals, needs and their limitations. Everything we build and change, everything we do, we do for the people using our product. Diversity, pluralism and freedom of choice. We think differences, not uniformity, in origin, circumstance and experience make people, the practice of software development and in the end, our product interesting. We believe it takes a diverse set of people to produce a product truly useful for everyone. Ownership. Instead of hiding behind processes, or driving relentlessly towards individual goals, we take ownership of the entire situation. We do that when things go smooth but also when things go wrong. No matter if they were in, or out of our control. No matter if that hurts and bruises our ego. It was never anyone else’s fault, it was ours. We believe ownership is how we respect others. Collaboration. By working toward shared goals, in a horizontal structure with flexible leadership. We do not only share results with each other, but how we got there. We constantly reflect our behavior and how it brings everyone else forward with us. We win together, we lose together. Quality. By taking due time, avoiding shortcuts, pacing ourselves. By being critical of what we do and by welcoming critique from others. We always leave our code base, processes and team better than we have found it. Community. By curiously exploring what other people inside and outside this industry think, do and produce. We expose ourselves to all kinds of ideas and openly share our own views. We strive for personal growth by continuously learning about other people, technology, development methodologies and efforts. We are open minded, always evolving adventurers\n\n\nPerks \n\nApart from the usual benefits of working for an established software engineering enterprise (competitive pay, rewards, established career ladder etc.) we can make the following happening for you. We are all about a healthy work life balance. You join a company that’s still growing fast and yet is over a quarter century old. We didn’t get here by burning out people. At SUSE we believe that without time off from work, a person becomes both bored and boring. That is why we provide flexible working hours, a flexible vacation policy and access to professional life & career coaching. We’ll give our best to help you maximize your well-being, because we are in it for the long run. We are all about creating opportunities for personal growth. You will have a personal budget for autonomous learning (O’Reilly/Linkedin Learning etc.) and for visiting industry events. The team spends every other Friday afternoon together sharing what they got inspired by. We frequently practice pair programming and kick off projects in mob programming. Every week you will have the opportunity to attend exciting lunch & learn sessions by SUSE industry experts. We also run company wide hackathons (Hack Week) multiple times a year where you are free to work on any activity of your passion for a week! We want you to become a better engineer. We are all about hacker culture following the community best practices. Most things you do for SUSE will be open source. We expect you to contribute back upstream. We encourage you to openly share your own views with the global Free Software community. That means you can spend the majority of your work time on your public track record. Your public code and collaboration will be your next resume!\n\n\nYour Responsibilities \n\nWe are looking for someone with strong Ruby on Rails experience. You should also be well-versed in HTML, CSS, JavaScript. Experience with site reliability is a plus but not a requirement. We require a strong proficiency in English (spoken and written) and the ability to convey what you want to other people. You might have a computer science degree, you might not have any formal education like that. That is not what we are looking for. You might have spend 20 years in our industry or 2. That is not what matters to us. We care about what you can do and how you do it, not about how you got here.\n\nHere is what the team does day in day out:\n\n\nPublic Open Source Software Development \n\nAs the Open Build Service is a Free Software project, you ideally have a background in this development method.\n\n• Implementing features/bug fixes for the product • Improve quality and lower technical debt of the product\n\n• Review and evaluate code/issue submissions from other developers and customers\n\n• Cooperate with the team and other stakeholders to align plans in an agile fashion\n\n• Document features, workflows and concepts\n\n\nSite Reliability Engineering\n\nAs we are practicing the DevOPS culture, you ideally know how to do\n\n• Continuous integration of the product with other software in the stack\n\n• Continuous deployment\n\n• Monitoring the health and performance of deployments\n\n• Incident management\n\n• Infrastructure management \n\n#Salary and compensation\n

# About the Team\nWe are a small, fully remote, and self-funded software company based in Germany. Our product "[Tower](https://www.git-tower.com)" is the best Git client for Mac and Windows and is used by over 100,000 customers - from startups to Fortune 100 companies.\n\nWe know we can achieve great goals only with the help of our peers. And at fournova, we are blessed to work in a team of extraordinary people. Weโre not looking for someone to do the job. Weโre looking for someone to join the team!\n\n\n# About the Position\nWe're looking for a Web Developer to join our team. Youโll have the chance to work in many different areas, on websites that are viewed by hundreds of thousands of people every month.\n\n- **Website Projects**: We have a multitude of cool web projects that evolve quickly: the Tower product website and blog, our learning platform, the Tower online help, and many special projects. You'll work with PHP, the Kirby CMS, and lots of HTML and modern Sass / CSS.\n\n- **Learning Content**: We love to learn new things. That's why we also love to help our users and community learn new things. Our learning content on Git and lots of other software topics is read by hundreds of thousands of people every month. This allows you to learn lots of new things - and teach them to our community at the same time!\n\n- **Growth Hacking**: We constantly test and tweak things: A/B tests and countless little improvements help us optimize our projects and content all the time.\nCool Special Websites: We have lots of ideas for very cool "special" projects: have a look at our History of macOS, our Developer Manifesto and our May the Fork Be with You projects for some examples.\n\n- **Frontend Development**: We're working on new web applications for which you're welcome to build an awesome frontend. We are big fans of "classic" web applications and page reloads ;-) So if you're deeply in love with React or Vue.js, we're probably not the best place for you.\n\n# Required Skills\n- 3+ years experience in web development\n- Fluent in English\n- Experience with PHP, HTML5, CSS3 / Sass, JavaScript\n- Advanced knowledge of Git and version control\n- (Optional) Experience with Ruby on Rails and the Kirby CMS\n- You are a good and mindful communicator\n- You are open to learn our toolchain (e.g. GitHub, Heroku, Zendesk, ActiveCampaign, Postmark and their APIs)\n\n# About You\n- very reliable & thorough: you accept responsibility for your own work and its quality\n- hungry to be part of a team that creates things that matter\n- self-motivated and capable of working from home\n- open to discussions and a mindful communicator\n- willing to be part of a team & yet able to work independently\n- paying attention to details\n- open-minded and respectful โ regarding people, technologies and projects\n- happy to become part of a small team of friendly & skilled professionals\n\nIs this a position & culture that resonates with you? Can you contribute something to make fournova even better? Yes and yes?!? **[Then please get in touch with us!](https://www.fournova.com/jobs)** \n\n#Salary and compensation\n

\nWe're looking for someone who is smart, curious, and loves building web apps. A full stack engineer that enjoys all aspects of web development and has experience managing and deploying software.\n\nWhat we do?\nConcierge Live is a forward thinking technology company in a space where technology is lagging: the ticket industry. We offer software to help companies better manage their events and tickets. Like a private company box office. We allow companies to manage tickets they've already purchased and purchase tickets if they have not.\n\nWe are a growing company with financial backing by industry veterans and integration partnerships with great technology leaders in the ticket space including SeatGeek and Ticket Evolution.\n\nOur stack\nRuby 2.1, Rails 2.3.8 (looking to upgrade to Rails 2 LTS or Rails 3+), JavaScript, PostgreSQL, all deployed on Heroku (we are considering migrating to something like Docker for more hosting flexibility). Our team has very strong OO principles and a well tested code base running against a CI server. Although our application is very mature having been in production for more than 7 years you won't be jumping into a messy app.\n\nWhat we're looking for\n\n\n* Experience building web apps. The more the merrier. We'll be most interested in checking out what you have built. Personal projects are a huge plus.\n\n* Passionate about web apps and code: You are opinionated about how software should work, inside and out.\n\n* Expert in Ruby (at least 3 years experience)\n\n* Experience managing and deploying B2B software.\n\n* Working remote is acceptable.\n\n* Strong experience in writing specs to support new code or refactored existing code.\n\n\n\n\n\nJob Perks\n\n\n* A competitive base salary and benefits.\n\n* The opportunity to write code that is used outside of Concierge Live, e.g. we've opensourced a number of our projects including Authlogic, Searchlogic, etc.\n\n* A superb benefits package, including full health/dental/vision\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n

Are you prepared to take charge of maturing and expanding an entire web platform? We're looking for an excellent Ruby developer to build out Baymard's custom-built Rails-based web platform.\n\n**The Job**\nIn this position, you will have a lot of influence on the technical direction of the company since all Baymard employees are e-commerce UX researchers except one (Jamie, co-founder of the business, and the person youโll be working most closely together with). Itโs an opportunity to help envision and build the technical platform of a research company that, while it works with tech, isn't yet another app or web service. (Because of this weโre also more than happy to open-source our internal code and scripts because we don't make our money from code.)\n\n**Requirements**\n\- We're looking for someone with strong programming skills since we want you to take charge / ownership of our tech platform.\n\- Since all of our current infrastructure is written in Ruby, it's a major plus if that's your choice of language too.\n\- Familiarity with JavaScript and CSS are a bonus, but not required.\n\n_Note: you must be fluent in English, comfortable working remotely via digital platforms and willing to do a few yearly travels for team meetups (expect 2-4 weeks of travel each year)._\n\n**Are We A Good Fit?**\nIf youโre looking for a chance to work on long-term goals rather than chasing monthly user growth targets, this will be a good match. Weโre a business that has been profitable from day one and we really donโt care about temporarily spiking our user metrics in order to flip the company or impress VC investors. Weโre much more interested in steady and sustainable improvements to our business โ continually increasing the value we deliver to our customers (from which sustained increases in profitability organically follow). Since all of Baymardโs research is delivered through its website, your work will have an immediate and tangible impact on the company.\n\nWe want to work with the smartest and most dedicated people around the world, and all of our positions are therefore open to full-time remote work. In other words, you are welcome to work with us from any location you prefer (which many of our employees do). If you want to, youโre of course also welcome to work in our Copenhagen-based office.\n\n**About Baymard**\nBaymard Institute is a small independent web usability research organization, specialized in conducting large-scale generic usability studies of e-commerce sites. These studies are published as industry reports and benchmark databases at baymard.com (this site is a big part of the web platform youโll be working on) โ which is being used by thousands of web professionals, all the way from the independent freelance web designer to the UX Director of a Fortune 500 company.\n\nYou'll be working with a team of dedicated usability researchers conducting cutting-edge e-commerce research used by UX teams at some of the biggest brands in the world (clients include Nike, Lenovo, Etsy, etc.)?\n\n**Apply**\nIf youโre interested in this position, please send the following to [email protected] (listed in order of importance):\n\n\- Samples of back-end code youโve written.\n\- Samples of front-end code youโve written (optional).\n\- Other information you find relevant (hobbies, interests, work experience, CV, ..).\n\n_Note: All applications and materials are kept strictly confidential. That said, open-source contributions are perfectly fine as code samples too โ just send along / point us towards whatever โworkโ you feel best represents your skills._ \n\nPlease mention the words **ANKLE PIECE INCOME** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4xNDY=). \nWe're looking for a product focused full-stack web developer to join our small (< 20 ppl) but hardworking and passionate team - the role is full-time and remote so you can work from anywhere in the world.\n\nOur tech stack today is .NET C# + SQL Server on the back-end (Azure), with Angular and Backbone/Marionette on the front-end. Whatever your background though - whether it be Ruby on Rails + PostgreSQL or Node.js + MongoDB - we'd love to hear from you. Investing in your training and career development is a big priority for us.\n\nRather than hiring for expertise in a particular technology stack, we believe that great developers demonstrate their skill through design, ux, thoughtful architectural, user empathy, and overall product understanding. In other words, we're looking for someone who sees themselves as more than just a cog in the wheel.\n\nOur team are all remote – so we either work from home, a co-working space, or a mix of both. We are fast moving, decisive, clear about where we are going and this role will make a substantial impact on our product and our product direction (initial focus will be building out our product in an entirely new direction!)\n\nWe promise you a few things:\n\n- You will be given the right tools and culture to get stuff done.\n\n- You will always know where you stand with management – no politics here.\n\n- We want you to always be learning and trying out new experiments!\n\n- We encourage critical thinking and problem solving.\n\nPlease note we'd like candidates to have some working hours overlap with Australia's timezone (GMT+10). Can you do at least 3 hrs each day overlap etc? If so, we're good. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
