ABOUT FLOWN
FLOWN helps people work better. We do this by giving our members tools to focus, and tools to recharge their focus.
Our platform offers a holistic approach, based on all the scientific research into what helps us become more productive, creative and fulfilled.
FLOWN is led by successful serial entrepreneur, Alicia Navarro, founder of Skimlinks (acquired by Connexity April 2020), and backed by well-known investors. Read more about our recent raiseย here.
ABOUT THE ROLE
FLOWNโs unique offering involves two types of content. These are โLiveโ & โAnytimeโ and focus on two key aspects of working life; focusing and recharging. We are looking for Deep Work Coaches & Facilitators to design, create and lead these sessions, both live and recorded.
Flocks
Our flagship product - live deep-work sessions called โFlocks.โ These utilise scientific processes and deep-work hacks to create a space for remote workers to accomplish their tasks, together. Flocks provide those who often work alone a sense of community, connection and most importantly accountability. These sessions are led by experienced facilitators and we have a wonderfully diverse community of members.
We run Flocks each weekday at a range of times to suit multiple timezones.
Recharge
Alongside our Flocks, we have a range of on-demand content that helps our members recharge. We are keen to expand this content and deliver a collection of โliveโ recharge content. Do you have something you think you can offer here? Let us know what it is in your cover letter! Think journalling, meditation, breathwork, creativity boosts, movement and more. What unique offering can you bring to FLOWN?
Building our team
We are looking to build a network of charismatic facilitator. Each facilitator will have the gravitas to hold space for a virtual audience of entrepreneurs, academics and other knowledge workers. They require the skills, passion, and confidence to lead audiences through a range of experiences. We are interested in a diverse pool of talent, from various industries and with different styles.
We pay hourly for adhoc/occasional work, but where there is a strong fit (and as we grow) we will look to put creators on monthly retainers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Here are some of things you may be responsible for:
Greeting and welcoming members, creating a secular ritual space for business people
Guiding each group through the ritualised structure, making it feel professional yet special
Reciting (and eventually perhaps writing) our FLOWN meditations, designed to prepare members for a day of deep work.
Coordinating break-out rooms for intention setting and reflections.
Facilitating online deep work sessions (deep dives) - doing your own deep work in the process!
Hosting live Recharge sessions that rejuvenate, replenish and revitalise members at various points throughout the day
Writing your own content for Recharge sessions - live and recorded
Recording video content to be used on FLOWNโs platform
Running virtual sessions smoothly, weaving multimedia elements in as structured, with limited oversight
Genuinely helping members become more focused, productive, accountable and creative through FLOWN
Providing feedback to FLOWN on audience engagement and ideas for content improvement.
Requirements
We think youโll need the followingย experienceย in order to succeed in the role:
Experience using Zoom and other presentation tools
Including sharing sound, managing chat, breakout rooms and using security tools to manage the call
Experience presenting to large, live, virtual audiences.
Experience holding space for others to be themselves and experience our content openly
A second monitor if you are interested in running Flocks
Strong and stable wi-fi connection
In addition, here are the coreย attributesย we think you'll need to succeed in the role:
Charismatic presenter - you have the gravitas to command the attention of a virtual audience consisting of entrepreneurs, creatives, developers, and other types of knowledge workers. You understand how to use your voice and body to both engage with audiences and put them at ease. You are able to read from a script in an engaging manner.
Strong personal brand - you have a personality that our members will be drawn to. You are able to come up with new concepts for break activities, reflections, and intention setting questions that resonate with our community and reflect your personality.
Tech savvy - you can comfortably, confidently, and independently, operate various tools and multimedia elements whilst facilitating a live session.
Calm and confident - you can work off a script with a natural ease, and you know when to ad-lib to get the most of a session. You aren't thrown if things don't go to plan, and always come across as authentic and poised.
Passionate about deep work - you're excited by FLOWN's mission, have knowledge and expertise in deep work, and can convey this passion and knowledge when hosting an audience.
Benefits
We want to practice what we preach, and build a company and team that works creatively and productively. Although this is a freelance role, there are still benefits we believe you'll gain in working with us:
Scope and influence - you're supporting a founding team and will be involved in shaping our product, what we do, and how we work.
A focus on deep work - we exist to support deep work among our members, and believe that the sessions you run and the content you'll have access to will also help you in developing your own deep working principles.
A strong team - we are led by a proven CEO & Founder, and the rest of the team is equally highly experienced. We also have a high-calibre of investors with a solid runway.
Fully dispersed, flexible working - we are a remote-first company, so you can work wherever you like provided it's quiet and distraction-free. We are looking to build up a small network of facilitators so that we can accommodate different working preferences and timetables.
FLOWN membership - we will provide all our facilitators with free FLOWN membership, so that they discover first-hand the benefits we are promising our members.

โย ย ย ย ย ย Youโre also responsible for maintaining the Github repository of the project youโre working on, committing/pushing/documenting your changes, commenting on your code, and writing SOPs or technical documentation (if necessary). It doesnโt have to be pages long and can be very short and concise. But, as a developer, it makes life so much easier if you can return to your code in the future without having to think too hard about what you did. This is also about being considerate of your teammates' time.
โย ย ย ย ย ย There must be some overlap in our working hours so you can respond to urgent requests (if any) or chat with your manager or any of our departments on demand if they have an IT question. This means that some extra tasks may arise during the week.
โย ย ย ย ย ย You might have a day where one of our team members needs something urgent and needs it done the same or the next day, which can be valuable to the company, or a major issue needs to be fixed ASAP, in which case you might have to drop what you're working on and work on that or troubleshoot the entire day. If your main project's deadline cannot be met because of this (which is understandable), you should be able to communicate this on time.
โย ย ย ย ย ย However, most of the time you are able to work on your main projects in solitary. We understand that developers need complete focus. You can also chat and ask questions in our Slack channels.
โย ย ย ย ย ย You might get stuck in programming and need help, or some development processes may need to be explained. If it cannot be explained/resolved via chat or video, screen-sharing calls can be scheduled throughout the week.

And weโve managed to grow at a healthy pace without ever sacrificing our culture and values.
Our company culture is focused on work and collaboration, but also while being open to the casual humor and chatter that makes us get to know each other.
We work hard, and you may have to work on the weekend every now and then if you have a lot on your plate. However, we have a huge understanding of the importance of time off, and we encourage each other to take time off.
A lot of us love traveling, and therefore, we plan on doing yearly company retreats, where we all meet up together and have fun.

Hey there,
Oliver and Vincent here, co-founders of Memex.Garden, and weโre looking for a senior full-stack engineer to join our 3 person team. $7-10k/month salary plus shares in the company.
Memex is a personal & collaborative reader to collect, annotate and discuss websites, PDFs and Youtube videos. By yourself or with your team and community. We're in Beta and you can download it here: memex.garden. This is made for DAOs, commercial and academic research teams, reading clubs and students with the need to collaboratively read and talk about web content, papers, Youtube videos and (soon) images.
Weโre funded with support from Protocol Labs as well as leading people at Protocol Labs, Anaconda, Ceramic & RMRK.
Next, you'll be working on the collaborative curation and annotation workflows and on the sync between Discord and Memex Spaces to automatically extract links and conversations from there.
Youโll be the 3rd person joining our 2-person engineering team and will mainly work on the feature development. Upcoming are improvements to the collaboration experience, image support and the Discord sync.
While we use React, Typescript, Firebase and React Native, weโre not looking for a checklist of technologies. Weโre looking for people who can demonstrate experience and deep knowledge about programming and the surrounding skills to ship projects. (Weโre not open to junior positions at this moment.)
This means the ability to analyze problems, communicate how youโre going to solve them, the trade-offs involved with your approach, converting that into well-written code that your colleagues will have a good time continuing on and transferring knowledge. We value how much certain ideas and technologies fit the problem at hand and the overall architecture of the product, not which technologies are hot at at the moment.
The hurry to get out features and the need to clean up code so we can continue to ship quickly are at constant odds with each other. You can identify whatโs needed to keep us nimble and are good at communicating that to developers and non-developers alike.
Youโre passionate about opportunities you see to make the product and our experience working on our project great and clearly communicate advantages and trade-offs, but you recognize the different perspectives will enhance your ideas, or show that your idea is not the right fit for a particular context.
You value simple code that is easy to understand over smart code that people are afraid to change or costs needless effort to dive into (including for your own sake after youโve forgotten how the cleverness works.)
You can clearly communicate how much autonomy or guidance you need to get things done, but can also concisely keep people who depend on your work up to date and provide them with what they need to get their things done.
Weโre building a platform encouraging the encounter of opposing ideas, and are strong proponents of free speech and care for our fellow humans. So even though we may intensely disagree, we recognize those who we disagree with as people with fundamental rights and human needs. We donโt like to nurture cultures of cancelling, labelling people with all sorts of -isms and one-sided views across the political spectrum. Lets rather look under the hood and be curious about different viewpoints.
Why are we building Memex?
On our own we canโt possibly understand the majority of polarising topics we encounter every day. However, we all search, filter, read and take notes about content online and produce information valuable to other people.
Memex aims to make sharing recommendations and conversations become so easy that we can share what we normally are be too busy to share, build on each othersโ research and easily compare contrary ideas
We think that for a healthy social media environment it needs:
Companies that donโt have such strong profit maximisation incentives that usually lead to extractive business practices like attention/ad-based business models or lock ins
People with the ability to modify their own experience of a newsfeed and notifications
Freedom of speech, but not necessarily freedom of reach
Reduce need for centralised moderation through communal and individual content moderation
The economics behind Memex
We are a Steward Owned organisation in order to prevent profit maximisation incentives that lead to extractive business models and practices, while still giving the company the ability to grow big and fast. To enable that investors and team have a capped return on their investments and company can never be sold. We can get pretty rich if we are doing a good job, but not become billionaires.
We believe there is no collective intelligence without individual intelligence. For individual intelligence to be expressed in a digital space we need to be able to adapt our tools & connect workflows that individually suit our needs. The uncapped investor returns of VC money are the root cause of lock-ins that significantly hinder the emergence of an open knowledge society and collective intelligence that is able to overcome the complex challenges of our time.

At Tettra, we make software that helps hundreds of teams create an internal knowledge base to answer repetitive questions in chat and onboard new hires faster. We use our own product every day to help our own team operate too.
Weโre a small, 100% remote company thatโs growing our customer base and team quickly. We believe in optimizing for the long-term, which means we operate at a sustainable pace and are financially sustainable.
Youโll be the first marketer on the team, which is a unique opportunity to directly impact how we attract new customers and learn how a small software company operates directly from the founders.
This is a full-time, remote position based in the US.
About the role
As our first Digital Marketing Manager, we want you to bring your experience and ideas to help grow our company and attract new customers.
Youโll own growing our email list of contacts and work to keep them regularly engaged with our brand.
Manage external creative & content production teams.
Keep track of how our product changes and send regular product updates to our customers.
Update our marketing website to reflect product and strategy changes.
Identify and recruit marketing partners with overlapping audiences and work with them to create shared value.
Analyze and continuously share your results with the rest of the team.
About you
You have excellent English writing and communication skills.
At least 3+ years of experience in a relevant marketing role - preferably at a SaaS company or an agency with SaaS clients.
You are tech-savvy, naturally curious, and have a history of learning new skills or finding an answer through self research. This is especially important in a remote company because you wonโt always have someone to ask in the moment for an answer (and is the main reason why we built our product.)
You love to share your learnings and back them up with data, doing so with tools like Google Analytics, Amplitude, Databox, or an equivalent.
You have experience with an email automation solution and CMS. Mailchimp and Wordpress experience specifically is a plus.
You excel at self management and can keep yourself organized, productive, and motivated to hit your goals.
You are US-based and able to overlap with teammates EST to PST timezones.
Benefits
Competitive salary - Our goal is to hire the best people and compensate them fairly. Our salaries are based on Boston-area rates and we pay the same no matter where you live in the US.
Asynchronous culture - We are a results-driven team and operate mostly asynchronously. We donโt care where youโre based in the US and what hours you work, as long as you can meet the expectations of your role.
Flexible vacation - Take time off when you need it. All you need to do is just give the team some notice ahead of time and coordinate coverage. We recommend taking at least 3 weeks off in addition to public holidays, but there are no firm rules. We trust you to take the time you need to be productive.
Health, dental, and vision insurance - We cover 100% of you and your familyโs insurance, including dependents (US residents only)
401K matching - We offer a retirement plan with matching (US residents only)
New-hire success package - We will buy you a new Mac laptop or equivalent of your choice, and provide you a $750 stipend to spend on improving your remote setup like a big monitor, a standing desk, high-quality webcam, or whatever else you need.
Personal development - Up to $500 per year reimbursement to spend on learning to improve your knowledge and craft through our Free Books & Courses program.
Transparency - We believe that access to information is key to making the best decisions. Therefore, everyone has full access to business metrics and financial information about the company. Youโll know our revenue, goals, growth rates, and cash on hand so thereโs no surprises.
Why work with us?
We are remote - We are a fully remote company and donโt have an office. We believe in trust and autonomy. Our internal operating system is geared towards asynchronous communication, common goals, and evaluations based on results. It doesnโt matter if youโve worked like that before as long as you can ask good questions, collaborate & communicate well in primarily written form, and hold yourself accountable to get your work done.
We are a calm company - We believe in work/life harmony. Our team works a solid 40-hours per week during whatever hours work for us individually, then we sign off in the evenings and on weekends to do what we enjoy outside of work โ like spending time with friends & family, self improvement, or interesting hobbies. We scope our work to only the most important tasks and get those done by not wasting time on pointless status meetings, brainstorming discussions, or projects that arenโt actually important.
We use our own product every day - We use our own product to share knowledge and document our processes internally.
Everyone has a voice - We believe that good ideas can come from anywhere. We hire smart, ambitious people like you because we want to hear your thoughts.
We are using our leverage for good - We currently donate 1% of all revenue to help fight climate change through Stripe Climate. We also offer discounted Tettra accounts to qualifying nonprofits to help their teams work more effectively to do more good in the world.
At Tettra, we believe that diverse teams result in better products and experiences for our customers and are more interesting to work on too. We are an equal opportunity employer and are committed to building a company that embraces and celebrates diversity and inclusion. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status

The media team at SafetyWing is building the worldโs first media company for digital nomads and remote workers, and weโre on the hunt for the Editor in Chief who will lead the effort and the team building it.
This is a full-time role and we are open to applicants based anywhere in the world (though the Americas and Europe/Africa time zones are easiest). This role involves working with the current media team of ~10 (composed of growth, content, PR, social media, design and development leads), and scaling that team into the future.
๐ About Us
SafetyWing (YC 2018) is building a global social safety net, including health and retirement for remote workers worldwide. If we succeed, we believe this will help ensure freedom and equal opportunity for everyone, and is one of the most important missions of our time that no one else is working on. Youโll have an essential role in building the first media company for a country on the internet, serving remote workers, remote companies, and digital nomads.
We're a fully-remote team of 100+ globally distributed workers, with a headquarters in San Francisco. We recently raised a $35 million Series B round from โโKinnevik, Creandum, byFounders and Mundi Ventures.
We currently have 3 content platforms: 1. Building Remotely - a blog, podcast and collection of resources to help build a remote company.
2. Borderless - currently an interactive map showing travel restrictions and requirements during COVID. This summer, it will transform into a collection of city guides for nomads.ย
3. Plumia - an umbrella project for SafetyWing's efforts to increase the global mobility rights of people everywhere by building a country on the internet.
We believe media is the gateway to community. We have bold plans for SafetyWing media platforms to be at the forefront of the nomadic and remote work movements, providing a guiding source of information where there currently isnโt much. The project is ambitious, but weโre perfectly suited to tackling it. Weโre looking for someone who can not only lead our energetic media team, but build our burgeoning publications to become leading media products.ย
Day-to-day, the Editor in Chief role involves:
Leading and coordinating our media team, including 1-1โs, team meetings and communicating our progress to the rest of the company.
Working with the team to develop the long-term vision of our media, as well as the immediate roadmap of priorities.
Build a scaling plan for editorial systems, as well as experimenting with new content channels and verticals.ย
Liaise with stakeholders across the company to align on goals, team growth, brand, external comms, and the other aspects of a scaling, venture-backed startup.
Manage editorial budgets and resources and be the primary point of contact with external agencies and other collaborators.
Weโre looking for somebody who:
Is both passionate and insatiably curious about both media and technology. We like people who think differently and want to break new ground through their work.
Has good knowledge of the creator economy and other developments in internet culture, the future of work and borderless living.
Is keen to develop culture and values, both internally and externally, to help us move from content department to innovative media hub.
Brings an optimistic and solutions-focused perspective, both as a person and in their media lens.
Is a founder-type personality who has fun with their work.ย
๐ง What we offer

At TriumphPay, we are building the transportation payments network for the future. We are the largest payer in transportation with more than $20 billion in annualized payments. Our customers use our products to solve real world problems and operate in our software all day every day. This is both excitingand also an incredible responsibility.
We are looking for experienced full-stack engineers to join our team of 35+ engineers. You will work closely in a team of 3-5 people on a specific project. Inside this team, you will manage your own backlog and schedule. We rotate teams and work areas quarterly to give you a breadth of experience. We are a fully remote engineering organization that believes strongly in work life balance and strong boundaries. We care about our environment because we know that we do our best work when we are happy and feel valued.
A Day In The Life:
You will likely start the day with a quick check in with your team. That might lead to a conversation with a member of our product group and a member of our sales team about a feature you are building for a specific customer segment. Several PRs and deploys later, you are ready to enable that feature for a test customer. You follow up with the customer and make sure everything is working as planned. Once it is ready, you turn on the feature flag and celebrate. Now itโs time to talk to the team about whatโs coming up next.
To do this, you will work in a mixture of Ruby (with Sorbet in places), Elm, C# and TypeScript. After CI, you use a single click deploy to our autoscaling Kuberetes cluster. We're also using Rails, Sorbet, React, Postgresql, Redis, Docker, and more. Additionally, we have a strong interest in functional programming languages like Haskell, OCaml, and Elixir. While these are the tools we're currently using, you don't need to have previous experience with all of them. We know that good developers are capable of quickly picking up new languages and tools.
To succeed in this role, you should be:
ยท Curious. You aren't content with the status quo and know that we can always improve.
ยท Collaborative. You can work with others to improve a solution.
ยท Empathetic. Your designs are influenced by a deep understanding of the customers' needs.
ยท A strong communicator. You will proactively communicate issues and trade-offs with team members to support alignment and fast decision making.
ยท Be an outstanding developer. Your peers should recognize you as one of the best and the brightest developers they have worked with.
Bonus points for:
ยท Leading an engineering team or running a consulting company.
ยท Experience with functional languages like Elm, Haskell, OCaml, or Elixir.
ยท Previous Logistics experience.
