Our teams play a role in empowering people to discover healthier lives by creating effortless tests, collection kits, and services. \n\n\nItโ€™s first-to-market, innovative products include rapid tests for the detection of antibodies to HIV and Hepatitis C (HCV) on the OraQuickยฎ platform; sample self-collection and stabilization products for molecular applications; and oral fluid laboratory tests for detecting various drugs of abuse. \n\n\nOverview \nDNA Genotek products are marketed worldwide and support thousands of customers as they achieve breakthroughs in genomic and microbiome research, in diagnostics laboratories, in the pharmaceutical industry, in companion animal genomics and in personalized medicine.  \n\n\nReporting directly to the General Counsel, You will be the primary legal resource for our molecular collections and services business, comprised of our DNA Genotek (Canada), Diversigen (US) and Novosanis (Belgium) affiliates. \n\n\nWe are looking for a business-minded leader, a team player, and a problem solver. Our team values a collaborative mindset, a calm approach to challenges, and an ability to manage expectations up and down the organization. We are a legal department that seeks to build strong relationships across the company and to understand the challenges faced by the groups we support.\n\n\nPlease note, this is a fully remote position and can be based out of either the US or Canada. \n\n\n\nSnapshot of Responsibilities\n* Commercial โ€“ negotiate and review all contracts for our molecular business, including purchase agreements, distribution agreements, consulting and non-disclosure agreements, services agreements, material transfer agreements, licenses.\n* Employment - serve as primary lawyer for Canadian HR and employment matters and manage local employment counsel for our affiliates. Assist in the review and update of employee handbook and key HR policies.
