Ready to lead a team of developers by adding technical details to tickets, architecting solutions, and estimating new or future work.
Managing a daily flow of work and delegating work to other team members appropriately.
Mentoring and teaching junior team members on topics related to Magento development.
Handling escalations of senior to mid-level of difficulty regarding any aspect of Magento issues and frontend issues with HTML, CSS.
Reviewing junior developers and promoting good development practices.
Relevant Experience
Below are some of the relevant experiences that would make someone a good fit for this role:
Experience leading a development team of 4 or more people, demonstrating strong communication skills.
Mastery of all things Magento, including module installation and configuration, adding custom functionality, server configuration, and Magento Cloud experience.
Background in software engineering, object-oriented programming, database management, preferably on a LAMP stack.
Experience with DevOps-related processes and tools such as Git/SVN, CI/CD, Docker, Jenkins, Git hooks, BitBucket Pipelines, EC2/RDS server configuration, etc.
Experience integrating with external web services, like SOAP, REST, or Graph QL APIs, is recommended.
Comfort using software development management tools like the Atlassian suite (JIRA, Confluence, etc.) or a similar set of applications.
Credentials
Success as a Tech Lead at Trellis requires a mastery of JIRA and Magento. As such, weโre looking for candidates that either already possesses or could obtain both their โJIRA Essentialsโ certification and โAdobe Certified Expert - Magento Commerce Developerโ certification within the first three months of their time at Trellis. Given the importance we place on this, we cover all costs related to training and the certification as well as offer a bonus upon obtaining the certification. While not required, a Bachelorโs Degree in Computer Science or a related field of study is preferred.

In addition to coding, you will understand requirements, figure out what to build, and then build it. You will work on both existing and new products. In addition to quality of features, you will also measure the impact of your deliverables through the enablement of our Field Teams in their ease, efficiency, and seamless integration and deployment for our customers.\n\nIn this role, you'll:\nโข Work as part of a cross-functional Agile team (software engineers, product managers, product designers, and test automation engineers) to understand what hospital systems need and define and create software to meet those needs.\nโข Spend most of your time building single-page applications in React from designs and specifications.\nHelp your team create robust software by contributing throughout the stack when needed (Flask/Python microservices, PostgreSQL, Amazon Web Services infrastructure).\nโข Mentor junior and senior engineers, and be mentored by other Principal Engineers and Architects.\n\nYou'll be successful if:\nโข You have 8+ yearsโ experience developing commercial SaaS software using modern architectures and design patterns for performance, scalability, availability, and seamless deployment.\nโข You enjoy coding and deliver high-quality, robustly designed, easy-to-reason-about software with your proficiency in Python and ability to use Flask to build microservices.\nโข You have experience deploying Javascript applications in the cloud with technologies such as webpack, React/Hooks, Redux and Node.js.\nโข Experience with Git/Bitbucket to build, manage and version control software.\nโข You love coding, and you crank out high-quality, easy-to-reason-about production software. You understand software design patterns (Functional, OOP, Procedural), and you know why they are important.\nโข You are able to take uncertain requirements, ask the right questions to solidify them, and then break them down into the parts that you can build.\nโข You take responsibility for quality.
