We have openings for designers with a variety of backgrounds, including: Design Research, User Experience, Interaction Design, and Visual Design.\n\n\nWe are currently looking for experienced designers in all areas of the business including:\n\n\n* Pivotal Labs\nTransformational lean and agile consulting with startup to enterprise clients.\n\n\n\n\n\n* Pivotal Cloud Foundry \nImproving the lives of the people who deploy and manage <emcloud based applications.\n\n\n\n\n\n* Pivotal Big Data Suite\nDelivering data processing, advanced analytics, and data driven applications at scale.\n\n\n\n\n\n* Internal Applications Group \nBringing our own in-house tools to market to support a better workplace.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhy we love what we do (and so could you)\n\n\n* \n\nDesign pairing and cross-functional pairing\n\n\n* \n\nSeriously collaborative, even with people not on our teams\n\n\n* \n\nWork alongside and learn from lean and agile leaders\n\n\n* \n\nDaily product decision making and real product delivery with product managers and developers\n\n\n* \n\nFreedom to try out new design processes; in the spirit of agile, do what works, try new things, stop doing things that don’t work\n\n\n* \n\nYou are always shipping!\n\n\n* \n\nImmerse yourself in one project at a time\n\n\n* \n\nEnvironment that encourages learning and growing as a professional and individual and infrastructure to support and motivate those goals\n\n\n* \n\nCommunity oriented design team\n\n\n* \n\nAll the designers have different skillsets: you’re not expected to be an expert in everything but having access to someone who probably is means we all get smarter by teaching and learning\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat we do as Product Designers for web and mobile applications\n\n\n* \n\nMaintain a user-centered approach in design perspective and practice\n\n\n* \n\nWork as a collaborative team member with developers, PMs, and fellow designers\n\n\n* \n\nLead products from discovery and framework through iterative development and delivery\n\n\n* \n\nHelp product managers assess and prioritize opportunities and constraints\n\n\n* \n\nGuide product decisions through user research, customer development, and iterative feedback loops\n\n\n* \n\nDetermine best practice approaches and lead others through our process\n\n\n* \n\nRapidly iterate on design prototypes and working applications\n\n\n* \n\nConduct frequent user research, testing, and analysis\n\n\n* \n\nDevelop visual identity systems, data visualizations, visual design, illustrations, etc.\n\n\n* \n\nProduce materials for clients and developers, including user flows, wireframes, mockups, live style guides, and assets\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHow you can become a Pivot\n\n\n* \n\nBe open-minded, creative, and self-critical; be collaborative and communicative\n\n\n* \n\nBe thoughtful about the role of design in relation to contemporary technology; be committed to lifelong design learning\n\n\n* \n\nHave experience with and curiosity of agile and lean philosophies\n\n\n* \n\nHave experience working independently with clients or stakeholders\n\n\n* \n\nHave experience designing full-service consumer and business applications\n\n\n* \n\nBring deep experience in research, visual design, consulting, or development\n\n\n* \n\nShow command of modern front-end technologies and frameworks (e.g. HAML/SASS, grid systems, responsive design)\n\n\n* \n\nBonus: experience with Ruby on Rails, javascript/jQuery, node.js, d3, git, iOS or Android\n\n\n* \n\n1+ years experience with agile and/or lean philosophy and methods\n\n\n* \n\n3+ years experience in related field\n\n\n* \n\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in design-related discipline (preferred, but not required)\n\n\n\n\n\n\nInterested in becoming a Pivot?
