What are we looking for?

• You enjoy automating everything, the thought of repeating tasks manually makes you shiver, but you understand the need to do exploratory manual testing to create test plans.

• You have experience testing Web apps, APIs applications in a fast delivering growth environment.

• You are a hands-on, independent product tester with experience working in a multidisciplinary team formed of designers, Front and Backend developers and DevOps.

• You’re patient when dealing with others. You’re a good listener, and happy to be a teacher when needed.

What skills do you need?

• You have solid demonstrable experience as a QA Automation Engineer doing end-to-end testing.

• You love breaking things and let your creativity go wild (e.g. functional and black-box testing, regression testing, system integration testing, load testing, manual testing).

• You are proficient in at least one programming/scripting language such as Python, C#, Java or JavaScript.

Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

As an SDET at Radix, you will apply your boundless cunning to break distributed systems in new and interesting ways.  You will study and emulate known attacks, and then concoct some new ones.  You will make sure that happy path scenarios function as advertised, and that a massive array of potential error conditions all fail gracefully, predictably, and in a recoverable fashion.

During your first few months, your focus will be on creating automated tests verifying predictable pre- and post-conditions against a distributed, trustless system while coming up to speed on how the network operates and where the limitations are.  With that understanding under your belt, you’ll start in on chaos testing and acting as a knowledgeable, malicious actor on our test networks.

Of course, you’ll also be contributing to test plans, highlighting gaps in coverage, creating regression tests to ensure fixed bugs stay fixed, and all the usual responsibilities of a test role.  You’ll just have more fun doing those things, because we only hire fun and interesting people to work with.  Your brain will bend in ways it wasn’t meant to be bent, you will form lifelong bonds with a team of incredible people, and you will forever remember the journey.

What is the job?

As a DevOps Engineer at RDX Works, you will lovingly maintain our (your!) virtual infrastructure, while supporting the needs of our different stakeholders, which range from a collection of community node runners to developers and SDETs.

You will begin in familiar territory, performing care and feeding for dozens of virtual machines and Kubernetes clusters while gathering performance data and tuning for the CPU/memory/disk sweet spot which best balances performance and cost.

You’ll participate in the continuous improvement of our current monitoring and alerting system, so that we know when things are going awry and can take action.

After you have a handle on how to keep things running smoothly, as part of the DevOps team you will engage with members of the different developer teams and node runners, always devising best practises for running Radix nodes and other RDX applications on a variety of cloud platforms.

You will participate in our on-call rotation process, to ensure that someone from RDX is always available to investigate a disruption in service. You will respond to alerts and track them to resolution, while learning from incidents and feed suggestions back to our internal DevOps, SDET, and developer teams and improving our internal operational rulebook.

What are we looking for?

• You have maintained production systems on virtual infrastructure, and you possess a healthy collection of war stories from past disasters.
• You have a wealth of knowledge about Docker which you never get to use at parties.
• You’re handy with an assortment of scripting languages, ideally Python or Bash.
• You have a deep-seated need to automate things. The idea of doing a repeatable process manually is abhorrent to you.
• You’re patient when dealing with others. You’re a good listener, and happy to be a teacher when needed.
• You are a tenacious sleuth, able to persistently research and reason about difficult-to-reproduce problems until you have brought them to a satisfactory resolution.

What do you need?

• Min 5 years experience in a DevOps role
• Production experience with cloud providers such as AWS, GCP, and Azure (We use AWS)
• Strong familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiar with agile processes
• Experience working with observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana Stack
• Hands on experience with a scripting language
• Comfortable with at least one infrastructure-as-code tool, such as Ansible and Terraform
• Comfortable configuring and managing at least one popular Linux distribution.

Your Profile

• ​Bachelor’s / Master’s studies in the field of design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or related field of studies
• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a UX designer, interaction designer, service designer or similar role
• Proven UX design expertise across multiple channels and international markets
• Expertise in creating services and applications across mobile and web
• Experience with building and/or governance related to design systems
• Proficiency in UX design and prototyping tools (primarily Figma) and others like Sketch, Adobe suite etc.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills including the ability to present design concepts to colleagues, partners, stakeholders and especially to senior executives
