Completed by hiring manager during requisition creation.]\n\nSpecial Mentions [Edit or remove as needed]\n* Relocation provided\n* Travel expected up to __% of the time\n* Shifts available:\n\n\nThis is a Second Shift Position\n* Interviews will include a technical assessment\n* This position is not eligible for remote work.\n\n\n\nResponsibilities include but are not limited to:\n* \nResponsible for a wide variety of aerospace structure, including welded and machined aluminum, and large composite components.\n* \nMaintain structural design and configuration integrity of primary and secondary structures.\n* \nPerform repair analysis of primary and secondary metallic and composite structures.\n* \nProvide technical guidance for structural build and integration\n* \nLead efforts to identify, develop, and deploy designs and methodologies that improve operational excellence through quality, cost, design, and process enhancements.\n* \nSupport the manufacturing floor in assembly and installation, compliance to engineering requirements, discrepancy resolution, and component acceptance testing.\n* \nPerform a hands-on engineering and liaison role between our design, test, and operations teams and our manufacturing customers.\n* \nInvestigate root causes, disposition vehicle discrepancies, and take ownership of preventative and corrective actions.\n* \nSupport the product through design and operational gated reviews by evaluating and aiding in the development of required artifacts.\n* \nDrive design for manufacture and assembly (DfMA) into the designs\n* \nAuthorize in-build redlines and recommend changes to improve the design.\n\n\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n* \nMinimum of a B.S. degree in engineering and 5+ years of experience with aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle structures.\n* \nFamiliarity with mechanics of materials, stress/strain, and statics\n* \nAbility to apply structural mechanics principles using hand calculations\n* \nFamiliarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance analysis\n* \nExperience in Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA)\n* \nDemonstrated experience developing manufacturing processes for transition to production.\n* \nFamiliarity with aerospace hardware, fasteners, adhesives, coatings etc.\n* \nDesire to work hands-on, both independently and as a cross-disciplined team, throughout the development and production phases of the product lifecycle.\n* \nStrong coordination and project management skills to track, manage, and prioritize multiple ongoing tasks.\n* \nStrong digital literacy with the ability to rapidly learn and use a variety of software tools, as needed.\n* \nExceptional interpersonal skills that foster positive professional relationships.\n* \nPrevious experience with engineering change orders and non-conformance processing\n* \nMust be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n* \nExperience with Manufacturing Execution Systems/Software and processes\n* \nUnderstanding of development product lifecycle management and associated gated reviews\n* \nExperienced with fabrication of composite primary structures for aerospace\n* \nBasic familiarity with commercially available structures software (Nastran, ANSYS, Abaqus, HyperMesh, etc.)\n* \nKnowledge of fabrication processes, integration processes, systems engineering practices, test, quality, and configuration management systems\n* \nProven experience developing/starting new manufacturing processes\n* \nProven understanding and applied experiences in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma\n* \nProficiency in business and engineering software (i.e. MSOffice, Windchill, PLM, etc)\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
