\nForbes Vetted is seeking an experienced editor to join our growing commerce editorial team. \n\nWorking in close collaboration with relevant section editors (who cover gear, kids/baby, consumer tech and sleep/mattresses), the commerce editor is responsible for supporting content creation across sections.This role works with the primary editors in each applicable category to edit and publish commerce content, which includes product guides, roundups, tested product reviews, news stories, how-to and educational stories. The ideal candidate should have deep experience writing and editing in one or more of the above categories, but does not need expertise in all of these subject matters. The commerce editor reports directly to a Forbes Vetted deputy editor, but works collaboratively across verticals.\n\nThis is a remote flexible role working during typical EST business hours with staff distributed across the country.\n\nResponsibilities: \n\n\n* Editing and publishing new and updated content within the kids/baby, gear, consumer tech/electronics, sleep and other categories, including gifts, ticketing and emerging content areas at Forbes Vetted as needed\n\n* Writing reviews, roundups and other content as needed based on trends, news, SEO data, seasonality and audience data, and updating evergreen guides based on performance and seasonality\n\n* Creating and placing images during editing process\n\n* Coaching junior writers and freelance contributors to sharpen their editorial skills and produce content in the Forbes Vetted voice, tone and style\n\n* Leveraging SEO tools like Google Keyword Planner and Semrush and analytics tools like Looker, to help plan content and track performance against team and individual goals\n\n* Contributing to social video and newsletter content as needed\n\n* Participating in sales event coverage, including working shifts over some holiday weekends that may include Memorial Day, Labor Day, Amazon Prime Day and Black Friday/Cyber Monday\n\n\n\n\nThe ideal candidate: \n\n\n* Has 5+ years of experience writing and editing commerce-focused content in at least one (and ideally in several) of the following content categories: kids/baby, gear, consumer tech and sleep/mattress (required)\n\n* Has impeccable writing, editing and reporting skills (required)\n\n* Has a strong understanding of SEO best practices, plus prior experience with commerce writing and affiliate strategy; familiarity with hands-on product testing a huge plus\n\n* Is user-focused and understands editorial independence, but can deftly balance this with the needs of the business \n\n* Is a team player who can multitask and work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders while also meeting publishing deadlines\n\n\n\n\nThe annual base salary range for this role is $80,000 - $90,000.\n\nForbes has estimated the compensation range set forth above in good faith.
