Remote Machine learning engineer for large scale ML project
**Promising drone-delivery startup is hiring a Dataset and Machine Learning Manager to work remotely. OneSec is working on a groundbreaking GPT-scale machine learning project to make autonomous delivery drones. In this job, you will build the Datasets and Neural Networks that fly our autonomous delivery drones. These drones will then deliver millions of meals and other packages in the real world.**\n\n##About OneSecondDelivery\nWe are creating a food delivery app that uses autonomous drones to deliver the food. We deliver everything 5 times faster and 100 times cheaper, thanks to small autonomous delivery-robots. The company was founded in 2017 by a leading expert on drone legislation and a successful e-commerce entrepreneur. The Swiss Federal Institute of Technologyโs Vice Presidency of Innovation has recognized the large potential of this project and has supported us with the XGrant Prize and other resources.\n\nYou can check out our website OneSec.com for more info\n\n##Job Description\nOneSec is building one of the largest machine learning projects in the drone industry.\nWith our own photorealistic flight simulator, and a fleet of prototype drones, we are building one of the largest depth perception datasets in the world, with 60 million training samples. As well as an unsupervised pre-training pipeline with 400 million training samples. We are building a large computer cluster of NVIDIA and Tenstorrent chips to scale up our machine learning project to this scale. \n\n####Your job has 3 components:\n* Neural network training and optimization\n* Dataset management and generation\n* Supporting our hardware team in building up our exaflop-scale machine learning cluster\n\n####Here are some of the Neural Networks you will be building:\n\n-Delivery surface finder:\nA neural net that picks the optimal delivery surface within a balcony or backyard of a customer.\nUsually this will be a table or chair or a section of the floor that has enough clearance.\n\n-OneSec Fruxel Depthmap:\nThis is a convolutional neural network that takes camera images and generates a 3D representation of the space around the drone. Our pathplanner then uses this depthmap to plan a collision free path for the drone. This neural network represents the core of our autopilot system. \n\n-Delivery Clearance Model:\nThis model checks the camera images to see if the scene is safe to approach. We don't fly into a balcony if there's a human or dog in it. And when we approach a restaurant to pickup a package, we make sure the scene is clear of humans, pets etc.\n\n###Requirements\n* The most important thing is that you are excited about this project, and like the mission of our company.\n* Knowledgeable about machine learning and neural networks. Both practical and theoretical.\n* Experience with computer vision and convolutional networks\n* Experience with PyTorch and TensorFlow\n* Good computer skills, and general tech savvy: you will do many tasks like setting up recording devices to record datasets, creating small python programs for dataset labelling and management, post processing large image datasets etc.\n\n###Benefits:\n* Take part in a huge success story\n* Flexible work schedule\n* Competitive cash compensation\n* Equity compensation (become a partner in the company) \n\nPlease mention the words **AUTHOR EXCHANGE MARKET** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi44OQ==). ## The big vision โจ\nAs a society, we spent the last decade solving delivery and bringing the physical grocery store online. What we missed is the simple fact that food was already online in the form of content in food communities, blogs and forums. In fact, food makes up a large portion of the social media content we consume today.\nAt Jupiter, [we are pioneering food media & content shopping in the US](https://www.winsightgrocerybusiness.com/technology/social-network-grocery), and in doing so we're building the next version of grocery shopping. In this new version, customers will create, share and shop content directly from food communities where they find affinity. They'll be able to easily plan their meals and shop for ingredients in a single click, as well as share cooking tips with others โ a 10x better way to shop that can only exist online.\nWe use data science and machine learning to automate the repetitive nature of grocery shopping and weโve created a social shopping experience that is unique to the world of food. HigherEducation.com partners with many of the most recognizable names in the online education industry to help them build their programs and expand student bases with our 75M annual site visitors. We also love to use cutting edge technologies to make developer life enjoyable and more productive.\n\nWeโre looking for an experienced, hands-on hybrid role of JavaScript Engineer and data scientist to join a major initiative at a critical point in our companyโs growth. The ideal candidate (which means you, right?) will be responsible for debugging existing code bases and innovating new solutions through data science research. Other duties include enhancing & maintaining the core product, creating & maintaining the tests for various code repositories,\n\nThe position requires:\n- Possess a rock-solid background in Computer Science (minimum BS in Comp Sci or related field) or at least 5 years of development experience in a challenging, fast paced environment.\n- Demonstrated advanced proficiency in one or more of the following fields: Natural Language -\n Processing, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Recommendation Systems.\n- Server-side JavaScript (e.g. Node.js - Express, Koa, Hapi).\n- Client-side JavaScript (e.g. React, MobX, Redux).\n- Build tools (e.g. Gulp, Grunt, Browserify, Webpack).\n- Exposure to AWS or other cloud platforms a plus.\n\n\nDesired qualifications include experience with:\n- Advanced degree is a plus but you're not just an academic -- you have hands-on software engineering experience applying complex algorithms to real-world problems at scale.\n- Work effectively in agile teams; get stuff done with minimal guidance and zero BS, help others and know when to ask for help. Clearly communicate complex technical and product issues to non-technical team members, clients, etc.\n- Bonus points for experience implementing machine learning algos on GPU's or other hardware acceleration!\n\n\nWhat it's like \n\nLast year, we had a blast. We personally enjoy getting rid of legacy code & turning servers off in favor of clean, new, tested services.\n\nEach project is fairly small in scope with a large amount of flexibility and freedom to discuss & find the best architecture for the job and for the team. Usually, a single person heads up a project, collaborates with another for architecture & solutions, and eagerly looks forward to launching (rather than endlessly polishing).\n\n- Slack for conversations.\n- Asana for project tracking & deliverables.\n- Github for code collaboration.\n- DroneCI for CI & CD.\n\nBeing in a USA timezone is highly desirable.\n\n\nFor example...\n\nIn 2016 we...\n\n- Built and deployed a central platform for managing monetization across our portfolio.\n- Broke up an old monolith into smaller Docker services running on Rancher and got a solid, always-deploying CI/CD pipeline.\n- Established a lightweight Agile process to aid developer efficiency from initiative to initiative.\n- Worked with in house teams to conduct research in the frame of Recommendation Systems with a working prototype.\n\nIn 2017 we're...\n\n- Building applications to expand the business into areas of organic growth.\n- Refactoring and simplifying our micro-services ecosystem.\n- Doubling down in a robust product recommendation approach to better serve our users.\n\n\nHuman Environment\n\n- Centrally located in downtown Houston, free employee parking.\n- Coed work environment, casual dress code.\n- Cool office perks (e.g. sodas & coffee, happy hours, etc.).\n- Generous salary considerations & full benefits.\n- 6% 401k matching\n- 100% health / vision / dental for you & subsidies for the rest of your family\n- 15 vacation & sick days / yr.\n- Gym membership reimbursement up to $100/mo\n\n\nWhat We Value\n\nWe love to work as a team but office hours are flexible. Producing is more important than meeting a 9 to 5 schedule. We understand there are moments when you need to isolate yourself to concentrate so working from home is permitted and encouraged.\n\nWe like to have a good time and minimize stress with good in-office coffee, ping pong, lounge/reading time and regular happy hours. We work hard and meet realistic deadlines. What good is delivering a poor product early?\n\nWe also understand that family is important, so time-shifting (and sometimes day-shifting) is necessary to deliver for both the team & your family.\n\n \n\nPlease mention the words **WEALTH STAIRS TOSS** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi44OQ==). ๐ Please reference you found the job on Remote OK, this helps us get more companies to post here, thanks!
When applying for jobs, you should NEVER have to pay to apply. You should also NEVER have to pay to buy equipment which they then pay you back for later. Also never pay for trainings you have to do. Those are scams! NEVER PAY FOR ANYTHING! Posts that link to pages with "how to work online" are also scams. Don't use them or pay for them. Also always verify you're actually talking to the company in the job post and not an imposter. A good idea is to check the domain name for the site/email and see if it's the actual company's main domain name. Scams in remote work are rampant, be careful! Read more to avoid scams. When clicking on the button to apply above, you will leave Remote OK and go to the job application page for that company outside this site. Remote OK accepts no liability or responsibility as a consequence of any reliance upon information on there (external sites) or here.
