Data architects at Aledade are boots on the ground, conceptualizing, diagramming, and implementing and testing solutions.\n\nUnder the direction of, and in collaboration with, a Director of Engineering, the Data Architect is responsible for designing, documenting, and demonstrating the technology systems supporting Aledade’s product. \n\nResponsibilities:\n● Developing Technical Architecture: The data architect is responsible for proactively identifying and prioritizing opportunities for architecture. These might be bottlenecks in the current system, or bottlenecks seen coming in the future. They are responsible for using their experience and knowledge to design, test, and evaluate systems to mitigate these bottlenecks. Ultimately, they’ll be judged on the delivery and adoption of stable, secure, scalable systems that accelerate the engineering team’s pace. \n● Teaching and Learning: The Data Architect stays abreast of developments in technology, develops a deep understanding of Aledade’s business space, and synthesizes the two. Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to a broad range of audiences.\n● Strong understanding of the current state of infrastructure automation, continuous integration/deployment, security, and networking.\n● Experience leading in an agile software development environment.\n● Excellent time management skills, ability to execute and guide a team’s direction over a period of months.\n● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.\n● Experience developing and scaling enterprise-grade data ingress, egress, processing, and interface systems.\nExperience\n● 7+ years of programming experience or 5+ with a master’s degree.\n○Preference for a bachelor’s or master’s degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field.\n● 4+ years of experience developing and scaling enterprise-grade data systems as a full-stack engineer or system architect.\n○ Conversant with at least one in-memory data store system.\n○ Conversant with at least one columnar store data system.\n○ Fluency with at least one relational database system. \n■ Experience with PostgreSQL is a plus. \n○ Back-end technology preference for core modern Python.\n■ Itertools, functools, unittest, type hinting\n■ Familiarity with unit testing, integration testing, and continuous integration.\n● 4+ years of experience acting as a trusted “go-to” person for technical decision-making and project architecture in a team of 3 or more engineers.\n\nPersonality Traits:\n● Service: You care about people and society.
