This role requires a well-rounded individual who has demonstrated the ability to deliver results in a high-growth, dynamic, and fast-paced environment. You are versatile, detail-oriented, intellectually curious, and a strong communicator. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player who is passionate about healthcare technology and happiest in a fast-paced, action-oriented work environment.\n\nThis position reports to Medallionโs Founder/CEO and base compensation may land between $225k-$300k depending on qualifications and experience. In addition to base salary, Medallion offers equity, and benefits as part of the total compensation package. Many factors are considered when determining pay including: market data, geographic location, skills, qualifications, experience, and level.\n\n\n\nCore Responsibilities:\n\n\n* Legal Compliance\n\n\n\n* Ensuring the company adheres to all relevant healthcare laws, regulations, and industry standards\n\n* Staying updated on changes in healthcare regulations and advising the company accordingly.\n\n\n\n* Risk Management:\n\n\n\n* Identifying and mitigating legal risks associated with the companyโs products, services, and business operations.\n\n* Implementing policies and procedures to minimize legal exposure\n\n\n\n* Contract Management:\n\n\n\n* Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts with customers, vendors, and partners\n\n* Ensuring all agreements comply with legal standards and protect the companyโs interests\n\n\n\n* Data Privacy and Security:\n\n\n\n* Ensuring compliance with data privacy laws such as GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)\n\n* Implementing and monitoring data protection policies to safeguard sensitive healthcare data\n\n\n\n* Intellectual Property:\n\n\n\n* Managing and protecting the companyโs intellectual property, including software patents, trademarks, and copyrights\n\n* Handling any intellectual property disputes or infringement issues\n\n\n\n* Corporate Governance:\n\n\n\n* Advising the board of directors and executive team on legal matters\n\n* Ensuring the company follows best practices in corporate governance\n\n\n\n* Litigation Management:\n\n\n\n* Overseeing any legal disputes or litigation involving the company\n\n* Coordinating with external legal counsel as necessary\n\n\n\n* Regulatory Affairs:\n\n\n\n* Navigating the regulatory landscape of the healthcare industry to ensure the companyโs products meet all necessary approvals and standards\n\n* Engaging with regulatory bodies and representing the company in regulatory matters\n\n\n\n* Employee Relations:\n\n\n\n* Advising on employment law matters, including hiring, termination, workplace policies, and employee disputes\n\n* Ensuring compliance with labor laws and employment regulations\n\n\n\n* Strategic Advice:\n\n\n\n* Providing strategic legal advice to support the companyโs business objectives and growth\n\n* Assisting in mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYouโd be a great fit ifโฆ\n\n\n* You have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school\n\n* Active license to practice law in California or another relevant jurisdiction\n\n* Minimum of 10 years of legal experience, with at least 5 years in a senior legal role within the healthcare or software industry\n\n* Extensive knowledge of healthcare laws, regulations, and industry standards\n\n* Proven experience in contract negotiation, drafting, and management\n\n* Strong understanding of data privacy laws (GDPR) and cybersecurity regulations\n\n* Ability to balance business needs with compliance / legal risks\n\n* Excellent understanding of corporate governance and regulatory affairs\n\n* Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities\n\n* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively advise and influence senior leadership\n\n* High ethical standards and a commitment to integrity and professionalism\n\n\n\n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n#LI-Remote \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
