\nUnderwrite new Excess Casualty business and renewals according to authority level and established guidelines. Learn more about Argo here.\n\nThis Excess Casualty underwriter can be remote or aligned to an Argo office.\n\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\n\n* Review and price policies to verify acceptability based upon company underwriting guidelines and granted underwriting authority both primary and supported excess.\n\n* Utilize underwriting tools to determine accurate classifications, rates, and premium charges.\n\n* Interact in person, via email, and by phone with wholesale brokers to obtain further risk-specific details, negotiate terms and pricing, and explain company positions.\n\n* Manage assigned underwriting territory, including management of agents and travel to agent offices.\n\n* Oversee and approve endorsements as indicated.\n\n* Resolve premium audit disputes within assigned territory.\n\n* Review state laws, including cancellation and non-renewal, within assigned territory to properly transact business within the state.\n\n* Create, analyze, and interpret data from various reports.\n\n* Other duties as assigned.\n\n\n\n\nQUALIFICATIONS:\n\n\n* Bachelorโs degree or two to five years related insurance experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.\n\n* One to three years underwriting experience with authority, preferably in excess and surplus lines.\n\n* Strong oral and written communication skills.\n\n* Previous insurance educational work, IIA and CPCU desirable.\n\n* Detail oriented with initiative and the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment.\n\n* Ability to travel.\n\n* Excellent analytical skills.\n\n* Proficient in the use of computer programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.\n\n\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
