\nOverview: \n\nSalsa Labs is seeking a Senior Front-End Web Developer to focus on user interfaces and client-side interactions to support an evolving product line. This individual will work in-house in our Bethesda, MD office with a local and distributed team of Product Managers, Senior Engineers and QA Engineers to design and develop functionality for our online SaaS offering that provides online engagement services to nonprofits that include supporter management, fundraising, email and social publishing, and advocacy.\n\nWe’re not your typical SaaS company. At Salsa Labs our developers play a vital role in bringing exceptional SaaS and mobile products to market and take pride in building top-notch user interfaces and client-side interactions for the next generation of software.\n\nOur Engineers work directly with our Product Management team to refine requirements, design user experiences via prototyping and plan releases.  Our Engineers are expected to have exceptional problem solving skills, the ability to prioritize competing demands independently, and to produce quality products with minimal formal specifications and oversight.\n\nJob Responsibilities: \n\n\n* Participate in the full software development life cycle (SDLC) including gathering specs, analysis, design, development, quality assurance and testing, and debugging.\n\n* Develop, design, implement and integrate new applications while providing support and continual development and maintenance of existing applications\n\n* Work collaboratively as a member of the Development Team to ensure product integrity and that product specs and quality expectations are achieved.\n\n* Identify software performance issues and creatively work to problem solve\n\n* Implement coding best practices and maintain good code organization\n\n\n\n\nYour Experience Consists of:\n\n\n* 2+ years experience engineering object-oriented, Javascript-based behavioral layers for web applications that work on a variety of browsers and devices.\n\n* Consuming APIs in a REST architecture\n\n* Working on responsive web development projects leveraging frameworks like Zurb, Foundation and AngularJS\n\n* Understanding the setup of client-side development environments with tools like Grunt, Bower, Yeoman, RequireJS\n\n* Understanding browsers and their differences as it pertains to UX and responsiveness for both web pages and emails\n\n* Working with tools such as Jira for SDLC planning and management and GIT for version control\n\n* Exposure to JS application frameworks like Knockout, Angular, Backbone, etc.\n\n* Working with HTML5, CSS3 implemented with the SASS precompiler and object-oriented Javascript\n\n* Experience integrating with back-end technologies such as Java and PHP\n\n* Familiarity with version-control systems like GIT\n\n* Good working knowledge of SQL databases, and maybe even some NoSQL\n\n\n\n\nSome Must Have’s:\n\n\n* You don't consider something finished until it not only works, but is lightning fast\n\n* You have the desire to not only make the UI function well, you make it look good\n\n* You're no shrinking violet - you like to be an energetic and vocal member of the team\n\n* You wouldn't dream of checking in broken code\n\n* You're detail-oriented, and strive for more than 'good enough'\n\n* You're extremely self-motivated and enjoy working autonomously, and the mere notion that someone would need or want to babysit you at work is pretty insulting\n\n* You're a social animal, and enjoy interacting with different kinds of people\n\n* You're not territorial about your code, and unafraid of a little debugging\n\n* You have an uncanny ability to analyze requirements and produce code following established patterns\n\n* You enjoy diving into esoteric tech problems to produce a robust solution\n\n* You can keep the big picture in mind and provide an expandable and maintainable architecture\n\n\n\n\nBenefits of Working at Salsa Labs:\n\nAside from working with smart, passionate Salsa employees, having uncapped growth potential and a work/life balance, this position includes a competitive suite of benefits.
