This is critical for remote workers and we can't emphasize this enough. You will spend a significant amount of time interfacing with our customers and/or other team members through your keyboard and it's critically important that you can effectively convey your thoughts.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nREQUIREMENTS\n\n\n* PHP including object oriented PHP. Experience with Laravel is helpful. You need to write clean, high performance and maintainable code that is secure.\n\n* Knowledge of subversion and git, including github workflow is a requirement.\n\n* MySQL including the ability to write well performing SQL, ability to design schemas and an understanding of MySQL data types and performance.\n\n* Experiencing with Apache, Nginx and other web platforms like Lightspeed highly desirable.\n\n* Must be comfortable using Linux and comfortable with Linux administration.\n\n* HTML, CSS, Javascript and jQuery a requirement.\n\n* Understanding of common web vulnerabilities required.\n\n* Vulnerability research – ability to identify vulnerabilities in code is a requirement.\n\n* WordPress experience required – including ability to use the WordPress plugin API.\n\n* A keen interest in infosec. Credentials like Security+, CISSP or other is a strong plus.\n\n* Knowledge of other languages a strong plus.\n\n\n\n\nAll positions require a trial period of approximately 2-3 weeks with a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week. You will be paid for this short-term contract, and it will be used to evaluate whether both parties want to pursue an ongoing, regular employment relationship.\n\nAll offers of employment are contingent on successful completion of a background check. \nThe ideal candidate for this job will have a minimum of 4 years experience building secure, large scale, high-traffic web applications using CodeIgniter or a similar web application framework.\n\nTypes of projects you can expect to work on:\n\n\n* Practis Forms - A secure, HIPAA compliant online form and quiz application.\n\n* Encounter Health - A content syndication system that allows healthcare providers to subscribe to content regarding conditions, procedures, and products from a number of medical device and healthcare companies.\n\n\n\n\nThis position is an integral part of a team working to develop, test, deploy, and support high profile proprietary SaaS applications for the healthcare industry.\n\nResponsibilities\n\n\n* Develop web applications from business requirements using PHP, MySQL/MariaDB, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and RESTful APIs.\n\n* Maintain, enhance and support existing web applications, server environment and services.\n\n* Participate in all phases of the software development life-cycle including maintenance and new projects.\n\n* Interact daily with systems and processes used in professional software development, including source control, bug tracking, testing, etc.\n\n* Responsible for adherence to standards, policies and development guidelines.\n\n\n\n\nSkills & Requirements\n\n\n* Familiarity with HIPAA requirements a plus.\n\n* A Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent professional experience, including good working knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and programming models.\n\n* 4+ years experience with CodeIgniter or similar PHP framework.\n\n* 4+ years of LAMP (RHEL Linux, Apache, MySQL/MariaDB and PHP) web application development experience building large scale, high-traffic web applications.\n\n* Experience in RHEL Linux environment configuration for secure web application development.\n\n* Experience developing for regulated and privacy focused industries and handling sensitive data.\n\n* Experience with client-side development in HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript (including library support such as jQuery). and RWD workflows.\n\n* Experience with Git Version Control.\n\n* Experience in design, implementation, and testing for software reliability, availability, scalability and performance.\n\n* Enthusiasm, with good verbal and written communication skills.\n\n* Strong attention to detail and best practices.\n\n* Ability to prepare technical documentation for software management.\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to PHP, Senior, Web Developer, Developer, Digital Nomad, JavaScript, Git, LAMP, SaaS, Medical and Linux jobs that are similar:\n\n $60,000 — $120,000/year\n
