The Role:

We are searching for a Senior QA Engineer. You can be a perfect candidate if you are growth-oriented, you take pleasure in your work, and you enjoy working on new ideas to develop exciting products. What we are looking for:


  • You have +3 years of experience with backend service testing, performance instrumentation, test automation, and Software Quality Control;

  • You have +2 years of experience with either Java, Golang, Seleniumโ€ฏor JavaScript;

  • You have +2 years of experience with testing REST based APIs;

  • You follow best practices and conventions;

  • Relevant experience in CI/CD and related tools;

  • Responsible and able to work with minimal supervision;

  • Upper-intermediate English level;

  • You can communicate well with both technical and non-technical clients.

Nice-to-have:ย 

  • Timezone: CET (+/- 3 hours);

  • Basic knowledge of DevOps culture where necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Being able to write reusable, testable, and efficient code;

  • Writing the test cases in Java or Golang;

  • Working on the percentage of 50/50 between manual and automated tests;

  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.

About The Role

Our infrastructure as code library and platform team delivers an end-to-end, best-practices infrastructure on AWS in just days, all as a product. In this role, youโ€™ll collaborate with other senior-level engineers to define the next generation of AWS and DevOps best practices, codify them for use by thousands of engineers, and design a next-level experience for implementing, operating and understanding them.

What You'll Work On

  • Build a better DevOps experience.ย We have a unique product that generates complete, multi-account AWS architectures for Terraform and Terragrunt in just a few hours using a collection of internal Golang tools. Help us take this to the next level by using that product to deliver prod architectures directly to customers, and then leveraging their feedback for improvements. Better yet, help us get to the point where the entire experience is completely automated or self-service.
  • Codify AWS and Terraform best practices.ย Customers look to Gruntwork to share the best way to launch on AWS. Discover AWS and Terraform best practices, and then codify them as repeatable patterns that Gruntwork customers can pull off the shelf.
  • Integrate with the Gruntwork platform.ย Integrate your product work with our company-wide platform, which consists of a REST API (Next.js/Typescript), a web-based single-page app (Next.js/React/Typescript, Tailwind), and a first-class CLI tool (Go).

Compatible Time Zones

The Job

As a DevOps Engineer, you'll be working with the engineering team to monitor and improve our security, infrastructure, and performance.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Elevating our DevOps standards through improved monitoring, tooling, and processes
  • Planning and performing infrastructure improvements and maintenance
  • Monitoring and improving website stability and response times

Now we are looking for a talented Senior Frontend Developer to join one of our cross-functional teams. You will work on new features and improvements in existing products (Donation Widget, dashboards) as well as contribute to the development of new products.ย 

The main technologies we use for front-end development: TypeScript, React.js, Redux, Material UI.

Here are some examples of the work you will be doing every day:

  • Building, extending and maintaining UI for new and existing system features.

  • Analyzing requirements and designing technical solutions together with back-end developers to implement new features.

  • Writing well-structured, maintainable and efficient code along with unit and render tests.

  • Integrating with our APIs and back-end services as well as third party services.

  • Working with designers to achieve top-tier UX for our products.

  • Collaborate with the product team to bring your expertise to bear on various challenges.

  • Ensure the security of the upcoming solutions to make our customers feel safe.

  • Provide support, troubleshooting and bug fixing.

  • Collaborate with the development team, QAs, and product team on system improvements and tool and technology selection, as well as code review.

  • Assist the team in the creation and maintenance of technical documentation.

We require

  • 3+ years of experience as a front-end developer with at least 1-2 recent years of experience with React.js

  • Experience with TypeScript

  • Knowledge of OOP, SOLID, design patterns as well as functional approach

  • Understanding of how the front-end interacts with the back-end and external services

  • Experience with refactoring and refactoring techniques

  • Understanding of basic security concepts in web applications

  • Strong ability to take ownership and handle tasks assigned to you until delivery to production

  • Ability to team-play

  • Strong communication skills in English

  • Knowledge of front-end architecture solutions

  • Experience in writing tests

  • Experience with client-server web application development

  • Experience with Redux and connected components

  • Experience with troubleshooting and debugging

Summary Description

We have more projects on our roadmap than ever before and are ramping up our development efforts once again. The candidate will have the opportunity to participate in the development of our core technology and integrate it with nonprofits, industry-leading crypto products, and our ecosystem partners. As with most startups, your work will vary from day to day, so no two days will be the same. If it's a good fit, you will have the opportunity to take on leadership roles.ย 

Key technologies we use: TypeScript, Node.js, AWS, PostgreSQL, Redis, koa, joi, awilix, Swagger, Docker, Git, the frontend is based on React.js.

Here are some examples of the work you will be doing every day:

  • Designing, building and maintaining end-to-end backend services using TypeScript, Node.js and our company's framework.

  • Writing well-structured, maintainable, and efficient code along with unit tests.

  • Integrations with third-party APIs, development of our public API.

  • Research and analyze epic tasks and collaborate with the product team.

  • Ensure security and quality of backend services as we deal with our client's money.

  • Provide production support, troubleshooting and bug fixing.

  • Storage layer: design DB schema, SQL query writing, query performance analysis.

  • Collaborate with the development team, QAs and product team on system improvements and selection of tools and technologies, code review.

  • Assist the team in creating and maintaining tech documentation.

We require

  • 4+ years of experience as a back-end developer with at least 2-3 recent years of experience with NodeJS

  • Experience with TypeScript

  • You are skilled in SQL databases, OOP, SOLID, system design, design patterns and GRASP

  • A thorough understanding of writing secure code and an awareness of common security vulnerabilities in web applications

  • Strong communication skills in Englishย

  • Knowledge of PostgreSQL, cloud providers (AWS, Google Cloud), message queue (RabbitMQ, AWS SQS, Kafka), Docker

  • You have designed and developed web services or/and done integrations with third party APIs

Overview

The Rise web app is written in TypeScript using React and Mobx. It is using websockets to receive real-times updates from the backend. We are looking for a frontend engineer to take the web app to the next level.


What you'll be working on

As an early engineer you'll work on many different aspects of the product. A few examples:

  • Improvements to our Rise cmd-K Command Center: enable users to quickly navigate and manage their calendars from one uniform component
  • Work with our backend team to define a scalable and extensible API
  • Improve the app reliability by applying different types of test coverage (integration, unit, etc)

  • Extensive experience with Javascript and/or Typescript
  • Extensive experience with CSS
  • Extensive experience with React and/or Angular
