We are looking for full stack developers to join the founding team of a travel planning startup. Our goal is to take out the burdensome aspect of travel planning and suggest trips to users that are customized to their tastes, vacation time and budget.\n\nThe alpha version of our website allows users to explore interesting regions, organize interesting places into a trip, collaborate with fellow travellers/friends/family and create a travelogue for their completed trips. We are looking for passionate folks to join us so that we can extend our platform and database to provide personalized trip recommendations with special attention to user budget constraints.\n\nOur founder is an ex-Googler with extensive experience in semantic matching and personalization technologies and has successfully leveraged them to ship products that grew Google’s revenue by $X billion dollars.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\n- Work closely with the founding team to design and implement UX flows\n- Collaborate on the server side changes required for the UX flows.\n- Figure out ways to acquire/crawl data from the web and present it in novel ways in the frontend.\n- Able to balance quick prototyping with documentation and testing for the long term\n- Willingness to learn new technologies is assumed.\n\nQualifications:\n\n- BS/MS in Computer Sciences or related disciplines\n- 5+ yrs of JAVA development experience (frontend + backend)\n- Experience with Python, PHP or Ruby\n- Extensive experience with web technologies -- including HTML5/CSS3, JSON and JavaScript\n- Experience with the following is a plus: Git/GitHub, Google AppEngine, Google Web Toolkit, Google Maps/Places API, Facebook GraphSearch\n- Familiarity with Machine Learning concepts, Apache, Lucene, and MVC are a plus\n- Knowledge integrating with third-party web services APIs via WSDL, SOAP -- XML\n- Proficiency with general *nix system administration & networking\n- Highly motivated and self-sufficient with excellent written and oral communication skills \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
