  • Keeping up to date with trends in software development, technology and healthtech

  • Upholding compliance, regulation, data and accessibility requirements

  • Mentoring junior staff, imparting best practices

  • Third line support, troubleshooting and root cause analysis

  • Establishing CI/CD pipelines, and shaping a DevOps approach

  • Evolving our development culture, methods and tooling

  • Automating tests and upholding quality

We're looking for

  • Someone with broad full-stack engineering abilities

  • Excellent technical understanding of software engineering and data security principles

  • Comfortable with architecting web applications - or ready to grow into thisย

  • Technology agnostic and adept with Node.js, plus familiarity with a modern JS framework (we're currently using Angular) and/or TypeScript

  • Optionally, a good understanding of front-end technologies such as HTML5 and CSS3

  • Skilled in API developmentย

  • Appreciation for documentation, quality and best practice

  • Experience with Git/GitHub, and running CI/CD pipelines

  • Good technical familiarity with AWS Cloud services

  • Competent with SQL and MySQL/similar admin

  • A pragmatic application of Agile (both Scrum & Kanban) methodologies

You may also bring - or like to gain - skills or knowledge around any of

Influencing architecture, technology choice | mobile app development - e.g. Swift/Java/Kotlin, Firebase | secure coding practises, OWASP Top 10 | DevOps culture, pipeline automation | offshore collaboration, onshoring | mentoring engineers | Lean | algorithms and data science | establishing ETL pipelines and querying data warehouses

Salary and benefits

  • ยฃ70,000 - ยฃ90,000 - reviewed at six months - we're keeping an open mind

  • Share scheme for formative team members (once proven value to the business)

  • 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays) and 5 days unpaid leave

  • Flexible working practices - tell us what you need - e.g. optional four day week

  • Personal development plan that you can shape, with budget for related training/certifications

It is clinically proven to lead to faster recovery, better quality of life and sustained health benefits. The work we do has a real impact on peopleโ€™s lives, and we are on a journey to transform the lives of people affected by cancer. https://onkohealth.co.uk/

Location: fully remote, within the UK only. We'll get-together in person in London (Paddington), from time-to-time, monthly at most, and with good notice.

Please note, we can only consider candidates that hold an established right to work in the UK.

RECRUITERS: Onko Health has selected techfolk as its exclusive recruitment partner for this position and cold calling or speculative applications are not welcomed.

What is the job?

Are you happiest when using modern technologies to build complex APIs and slick web solutions from scratch? Do you enjoy working with autonomy and being left to use your creative flare to devise lever solutions? If so, joining us as a JavaScript Developer could be your next move!

You will work from a coherent vision. Step by step you will turn requirements into top-notch products by working with your immediate small but collaborative team, stakeholders in the wider business and testers through rapid cycles of implementation, feedback gathering, and tuning to produce delightful results. You will drive architectural decisions & enjoy the constant challenges that will become an integral part of your working day and boring coding will remain a scary memory.

You will help define the way forward for DeFi as an industry; when it comes to deciding new paradigms for user experiences, authentication models, interoperability expectations, and the entire concept of user accounts whilst working at the very cutting edge of a space undergoing furious growth.

RDX Works is seeking an industrious developer to build the systems that will define the future of decentralized finance (DeFi).

What are we looking for?

  • Youโ€™re a generalist, and have experience building REST services and/or WebSocket backends & enjoy variety in your projects
  • You like to actively shape designs and play with ideas as you build, and are comfortable with iterating until it feels just right.
  • Youโ€™re able to isolate the 90% case for user experiences. You think in terms of making the most common interactions effortless, rather than making anything possible.
  • You are adept at going from problem statements to solution design, and then breaking that high-level design down into discrete segments of useful work.
  • Once you understand a system concept, you are able to identify the highest value area to work on next. You can work towards the desired end state and come up with your own tasks to achieve it along the way.
  • You could be a great fit if our company values resonate with you -ย Ask for help, Get shit done. Be excellent to each other. Take the initiative, Youโ€™ve got this. Do the right thing, not the easy thing. Strong opinions, loosely held.

What do you need?

  • You will be proven commercial experience as an engineer building consumer-facing products/applications, using TypeScript or JavaScript ES6 for both front & back end development
  • You will be comfortable using JavaScript frameworks such as ReactJS, NodeJS or VueJS.
  • If you have familiarity with the current crypto ecosystem it is a huge plus, but just having the desire to learn will do for us!

Who are we?

At RDX Works, we're a team of like-minded thinkers who have long been convinced that we're living in the earliest stages of a global financial revolution. This revolution is being fuelled by decentralized finance (or DeFi for short), which is enabling an assortment of pioneering developers and entrepreneurs to re-invent almost every financial product that is currently traded and invested in traditional markets, without requiring central authorities or siloed infrastructure. DeFi has captured a great deal of attention and investment in the crypto-aware niche, growing assets under management from $1 billion to over $200 billion in a few years. Impressive as its growth has been, its current market size isn't even a rounding error on the over $400 trillion held in traditional finance. We're focused on what it will take to go from billions to trillions.

RDX went back to first principles to come up with the right technical solutionโ€”the first layer-one protocol built specifically for mainstream DeFiโ€”and we have already tested out at over 1 million transactions per second. We're keenly aware that the need for an infinitely scalable platform is only one prerequisite among many for mass adoption, and we're also blazing new ground in the areas of purpose-built developer tools, user experiences, and regulatory integration.

We have forged a path deep into the future of what distributed ledger technology is going to look like and we need you to come and be part of the team that is making that happen right now.

If this job sounds like it was made for you, then please apply directly via the link or if you donโ€™t have an up to date CV to apply with, contact [email protected] for more information.

Check out our company benefits here -ย RDX Works Benefits

Alternatively, if you feel like you donโ€™t match all of the requirements, we would love you to still apply anyway. We understand that confidence gaps and imposter syndrome can get in the way of meeting incredible candidates and we wouldnโ€™t want this to prevent us from meeting you; especially as we are big advocates of helping people learn & grow. This is also another reason we do not advertise salaries, we want to keep it as even a playing field as possible!

This is made for DAOs, commercial and academic research teams, reading clubs and students with the need to collaboratively read and talk about web content, papers, Youtube videos and (soon) images.

Weโ€™re funded with support from Protocol Labs as well as leading people at Protocol Labs, Anaconda, Ceramic & RMRK.

Next, you'll be working on the collaborative curation and annotation workflows and on the sync between Discord and Memex Spaces to automatically extract links and conversations from there.

Here is a demo of it: https://share.descript.com/embed/njHdzaaXN9a

About the role

Youโ€™ll be the 3rd person joining our 2-person engineering team and will mainly work on the feature development. Upcoming are improvements to the collaboration experience, image support and the Discord sync.

While we use React, Typescript, Firebase and React Native, weโ€™re not looking for a checklist of technologies. Weโ€™re looking for people who can demonstrate experience and deep knowledge about programming and the surrounding skills to ship projects. (Weโ€™re not open to junior positions at this moment.)

This means the ability to analyze problems, communicate how youโ€™re going to solve them, the trade-offs involved with your approach, converting that into well-written code that your colleagues will have a good time continuing on and transferring knowledge. We value how much certain ideas and technologies fit the problem at hand and the overall architecture of the product, not which technologies are hot at at the moment.

We do combine simple ideas in exciting ways to allow us to achieve much more with a small team and create a developer experience only found in our company, with much more to come. This enabled that 95% of Memex was built by only 2 devs.

Hereโ€™s some other more things important to us:

  • The hurry to get out features and the need to clean up code so we can continue to ship quickly are at constant odds with each other. You can identify whatโ€™s needed to keep us nimble and are good at communicating that to developers and non-developers alike.
  • Youโ€™re passionate about opportunities you see to make the product and our experience working on our project great and clearly communicate advantages and trade-offs, but you recognize the different perspectives will enhance your ideas, or show that your idea is not the right fit for a particular context.
  • You value simple code that is easy to understand over smart code that people are afraid to change or costs needless effort to dive into (including for your own sake after youโ€™ve forgotten how the cleverness works.)
  • You can clearly communicate how much autonomy or guidance you need to get things done, but can also concisely keep people who depend on your work up to date and provide them with what they need to get their things done.
  • Weโ€™re building a platform encouraging the encounter of opposing ideas, and are strong proponents of free speech and care for our fellow humans. So even though we may intensely disagree, we recognize those who we disagree with as people with fundamental rights and human needs. We donโ€™t like to nurture cultures of cancelling, labelling people with all sorts of -isms and one-sided views across the political spectrum. Lets rather look under the hood and be curious about different viewpoints.

Why are we building Memex?

On our own we canโ€™t possibly understand the majority of polarising topics we encounter every day. However, we all search, filter, read and take notes about content online and produce information valuable to other people.

Memex aims to make sharing recommendations and conversations become so easy that we can share what we normally are be too busy to share, build on each othersโ€™ research and easily compare contrary ideas

We think that for a healthy social media environment it needs:

  • Companies that donโ€™t have such strong profit maximisation incentives that usually lead to extractive business practices like attention/ad-based business models or lock ins
  • People with the ability to modify their own experience of a newsfeed and notifications
  • Freedom of speech, but not necessarily freedom of reach
  • Reduce need for centralised moderation through communal and individual content moderation

The economics behind Memex

We are a Steward Owned organisation in order to prevent profit maximisation incentives that lead to extractive business models and practices, while still giving the company the ability to grow big and fast. To enable that investors and team have a capped return on their investments and company can never be sold. We can get pretty rich if we are doing a good job, but not become billionaires.

We believe there is no collective intelligence without individual intelligence. For individual intelligence to be expressed in a digital space we need to be able to adapt our tools & connect workflows that individually suit our needs. The uncapped investor returns of VC money are the root cause of lock-ins that significantly hinder the emergence of an open knowledge society and collective intelligence that is able to overcome the complex challenges of our time.

Works that shape how we develop Memex:

What is the job?ย

No matter how powerful and flexible you build a platform, at the end of the day itโ€™s the experience you can give the user that matters.ย  Radix is seeking a savvy frontend development expert to help build the tools that will define the future of decentralized finance (DeFi) and Web3.0 user experience.

DeFi and Web3.0 have turned out to be the killer apps that are taking public distributed ledgers from niche products for speculators and hobbyists to projects of global economic significance, and with them have come a new paradigm for user interfaces.ย  Authentication models, interoperability expectations, and the entire concept of user accounts are all undergoing dramatic changes; at Radix youโ€™ll have the opportunity to define the way forward while working at the very cutting edge of a space undergoing furious growth.

Your initial focus will be development of full-stack typescript applications and integrated backend services spanning web and mobile devices that get users, their identity, and their assets connected to DeFi and Web3.0 applications on the Radix network. Working from Figma prototypes and pre-defined network APIs you will work within our Core Apps team to build and maintain web applications that interact with our unique mobile app, backend infrastructure to connect web and mobile experiences, and SDKs and technologies that developers will use to create their own web applications that interact with our mobile app.

What are we looking for?ย

  • Youโ€™re a confident coder who likes to work at the user interface level, and you have built public-facing websites or applications in Typescript in the past.

  • Youโ€™re a generalist, and have experience building REST services and/or WebSocket backends.

  • You are a researcher and enjoy requirements engineering for SDK development.ย

  • You like to actively shape designs and play with ideas as you build, and are comfortable iterating until it feels just right.

  • Youโ€™re able to isolate the 90% case for user experiences.ย ย

  • You think in terms of making the most common interactions effortless, rather than making anything possible.

  • Youโ€™re intelligent and learn quickly.ย  Absolutely no one at Radix winds up only doing whatโ€™s in their job description, and adaptability is essential.

What do you need?

  • 4+ years as a professional software engineer in full-stack development

  • You are fluent in Typescript.

  • You haveย  SDK development experience.

  • You know how to work with complex APIโ€™s (ideally WebRTC, WebAuthn, etc)

  • You excel at researching and requirements gathering.

  • Youโ€™re enthusiastic about working in a multidisciplinary team with mobile engineers.ย

Who are we?ย

At RDX Works, we're a team of like-minded thinkers who have long been convinced that we're living in the earliest stages of a global financial revolution. This revolution is being fuelled by decentralized finance (or DeFi for short), which is enabling an assortment of pioneering developers and entrepreneurs to re-invent almost every financial product that is currently traded and invested in traditional markets, without requiring central authorities or siloed infrastructure. DeFi has captured a great deal of attention and investment in the crypto-aware niche, growing assets under management from $1 billion to over $200ย  billion in a few years.

If this job sounds like it was made for you, then please apply directly via the link or email [email protected] for more information.ย ย

Check out our company benefits here - RDX Works Benefitsย ย

Alternatively, if you feel like you donโ€™t match all of the requirements, we would love you to still apply anyway. We understand that confidence gaps and imposter syndrome can get in the way of meeting incredible candidates and we wouldnโ€™t want this to prevent us from meeting you; especially as we are big advocates of helping people learn & grow. This is also another reason we do not advertise salaries, we want to keep it as even a playing field as possible!ย

Backend Software Engineer - Remote or In Office (UT, PA, CA)ย  *Must be located in the US*

Hiring for Senior, Staff, and Sr. Staff levels.ย

Nav is democratizing small business financing. In other words, we give small business owners access and control.ย  Yes, this challenges the norm, but it means working with curious, purpose driven, dedicated, and inquisitively smart people who push themselves, our company and the community to the next level (and every level after that). We are the people behind the tech. And when itโ€™s good, we look for better. We donโ€™t over think the value we bring nor spend time trying to revamp mantras. We also do not come up with some crafty way to tell you who we are and what we offer. We are Nav!ย  Here, youโ€™ll gain a wealth of experience, learn the tricks of the trade, and work with winners. All companies say people are connected to their mission but in our case our mission and our people are one โ€“ it is a way of being not just a cause you are committed to.ย  And since 2013, Nav has holistically and organically developed its own ideology because Nav can only be Nav.

WHAT WE EMPOWER YOU WITH:

  • Build and scale services that integrate with banking data vendors, Salesforce, and other internal services. Our focus is in Go, but we support other services in languages such as Ruby, Elixir, and Python.
  • Optimize Navโ€™s customer experience, from first contact, through sign-up, and applying for loans and credit cards.
  • Build the framework that Navโ€™s solutions (credit reports, alerts, financing marketplace) plug into.
  • Turn business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Help establish best practices within Nav's growing Engineering organization.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • A track record of successfully delivering maintainable backend systems in a Linux environment.
  • Experience programming in Go, Ruby, or Elixir. Active interest in learning new paradigms and languages.
  • Relentless problem solver.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • You uplift those around you.
  • Youโ€™ve got great verbal and written communication skills.
  • Youโ€™ve got amazing relationship-building and relationship-management skills.
  • You are comfortable working on complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • You have a bias for action, a โ€œdriverโ€ that gets stuff done, using analytical thinking.
  • You are comfortable with ambiguity, ability to change course quickly based on new insights.

INCLUSION AT NAV:

At Nav, we celebrate what makes our employees unique because the businesses we serve are progressively diverse and distinctly original. Navericks are diverse, side hustlers, immigrants, veterans, queer, and we push generational boundaries. We are college dropouts, PhDs, special needs parents, allies, pet owners and community leaders. Navericks are human.ย  We are committed to upholding a safe, supportive environment where everyone matters. We are committed to making a better future for all of us. We have created a workplace where people of all backgrounds can express their identities authentically. To put it simply we want you to be proud to be you.

OUR COMPENSATION PHILOSOPHY IS SIMPLE BUT POWERFUL:

We believe great, enduring relationships are grounded in trust and transparency. Compensation shouldnโ€™t be a distraction, and employees should understand how pay and career advancement decisions are made.ย  Providing equal pay for equal work is table stakes for being a great place to work. Gender and ethnic inequity should only be something that our children read about in history books.ย  We believe providing Navsters with company ownership, competitive pay, and a range of meaningful benefits is the start of creating a culture where people want to give the best theyโ€™ve got โ€” not because theyโ€™re simply making money, but because theyโ€™ve fallen in love with our vision, mission, values, and team.

OUR IMPACT ON YOU:

Competitive Pay. Company Ownership. Unlimited Vacation.ย  Benefits Day One. 6 Weeks Paid Parental Leave.ย  Work From Anywhere (yes we were distributed before it was cool).ย  Flexible Work Arrangements. Free Telehealth and Telemental Health For All Employees. Employee Networking and Events. Community Network Groups (womenโ€™s, PRIDE, culture).ย  Meaningful Perks and Rewards. Learning and Development Opportunities.ย  Pet Insurance.ย

A NAVERICKโ€™S DNA:ย

  • We look at the future and say โ€œwhy notโ€;ย  we see possibilities where others see problems or routines. We show the way ahead and are committed to achieving ambitious goals.
  • We practice straight talk and listen generously to each other with empathy.ย  We value different opinions and point of views. We ensure that we connect outside as well as inside to learn from others and inspire each other.
  • We hold ourselves accountable for delivering results. We choose to not to be a victim of circumstance.ย  We make decisions &ย  take responsibility so that we can act & support each other, rather than adopting defensive, and โ€œfinger pointingโ€ behaviors.
  • As leaders we motivate & engage our teams to undertake beyond what they originally thought possible, by developing our teams & creating the conditions for people to grow and empower themselves through enabling & coaching.

Who we are

Sendwave is on a mission to make sending funds to loved ones as easy and affordable as sending a text. What makes us stand out in a sea of similar apps? We deeply care about the diasporas and communities we serve โ€” and that comes with a sense of connection to the markets we operate in. We strive to make life better for everyone who touches our product. That means recognizing and honoring the human experience behind sending money. We do that by remaining fee-free in most of our markets and offering round-the-clock customer care.

Our app is currently available in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and parts of Europe, and sends funds to 19 receiving countries for over 500,000 users. We currently haveย a 4.6-star rating on Trustpilotย โ€” people put their faith in us to deliver their money quickly, securely, and affordably. And weโ€™re pretty darn proud of that.

How we work

What weโ€™re most proud of though is our brilliant, creative, and tenacious team. Our remote-first workplace means youโ€™ll be working with Sendwavers in Europe, Africa, South America, and the U.S. that all share a core set of Sendwave values. What exactly are those values? Glad you asked.

  1. Prioritize fearlessly.
There will always be more problems to solve and opportunities to pursue than we have the capacity for. Weโ€™re not afraid to say no and are willing to let fires burn, knowing that to win we must discern and execute decisively on the vital few rather than the important many.
  2. Take full ownership of the outcomes weโ€™re responsible for.
Our job is not to do what we can to solve a problem. It's to ensure that problem is solved. If an attempt to solve a problem doesn't work, we seek an alternative. If we need help, we request it, and, if necessary, demand it.
  3. Forge a diverse team and inclusive culture.
We believe the challenges weโ€™re addressing will be best met by a truly global, diverse team, working together. Weโ€™re not naive to the systemic bias and discrimination that make this easier said than done, so we check our egos, listen deeply, and measure progress towards making this a fundamental part of our success.
  4. Maximize our rate of learning.
We view projects as ever-evolving drafts and welcome opportunities to discover that what we had in mind won't work so we can move to an even better end state. Most importantly, we do this fast. The faster we run these loops โ€” as a company and individuals โ€” the faster weโ€™ll achieve our mission.
  5. Embrace embarrassing honesty from ourselves and others.
We function best when we're open and honest with one another โ€” especially about our challenges and doubts. We lean into uncomfortable conversations and support our colleagues when they do the same.
  6. Maximize energy, not time spent.
We measure our own and othersโ€™ contributions by objectives reached, not time spent. Living a full life outside of work is necessary for high achievement over the long term.

Good to note: We are able to hire in Belgium, Canada, Costa Rica, France, Germany, Kenya, Poland, Senegal, UK, and US.

Your key area of focus:

To achieve our mission, we need to make sure our app is easy to use for every interaction from signup to sending to editing info to resetting your password. Youโ€™ll work closely with our Head of Product to fix highly impactful user problems and A/B test interface changes to make the experience even smoother and quicker. Youโ€™ll eventually be one of the primary code owners of our Android app, and the go-to people for when someone else on the team has a hairy Android problem they need help with, but it wonโ€™t be all Android work thoughโ€” you will need to work across client and server to solve problems end-to-end.

In your first few months, you'll

  • Streamline in-app signup and verification flows
  • Set up A/B tests to measure the impact of your work
  • Help us build a top-tier referral program to help users share their love of Sendwave with their friends
  • Advise other engineers on Android development questions and challenges

What you bring to the table:

  • 4+ years of professional experience as a full-stack or mobile engineer (but at least 3+ years exclusively in mobile)
  • Significant experience working with Android โ€” you donโ€™t need to know every detail of the Android environment off the top of your head, but you should have a strong enough foundation to figure out those details when needed
  • Work authorization in the country in which you intend to be based.

Bonus points if you

  • Have worked on a growth team before
  • Possess hands-on experience with Python or iOS
  • Care about users and want to make their experience easier and better
  • Are more of a โ€œget it doneโ€ type person than a perfectionist
  • Arenโ€™t afraid to throw away code you wrote when after testing, a flow you built doesnโ€™t work as well as another one
  • Can easily communicate with non-technical folks and translate their feedback into code.

At TriumphPay, we are building the transportation payments network for the future. We are the largest payer in transportation with more than $20 billion in annualized payments. Our customers use our products to solve real world problems and operate in our software all day every day. This is both excitingand also an incredible responsibility.

We are looking for experienced full-stack engineers to join our team of 35+ engineers. You will work closely in a team of 3-5 people on a specific project. Inside this team, you will manage your own backlog and schedule. We rotate teams and work areas quarterly to give you a breadth of experience. We are a fully remote engineering organization that believes strongly in work life balance and strong boundaries. We care about our environment because we know that we do our best work when we are happy and feel valued.

A Day In The Life:

You will likely start the day with a quick check in with your team. That might lead to a conversation with a member of our product group and a member of our sales team about a feature you are building for a specific customer segment. Several PRs and deploys later, you are ready to enable that feature for a test customer. You follow up with the customer and make sure everything is working as planned. Once it is ready, you turn on the feature flag and celebrate. Now itโ€™s time to talk to the team about whatโ€™s coming up next.

To do this, you will work in a mixture of Ruby (with Sorbet in places), Elm, C# and TypeScript. After CI, you use a single click deploy to our autoscaling Kuberetes cluster. We're also using Rails, Sorbet, React, Postgresql, Redis, Docker, and more. Additionally, we have a strong interest in functional programming languages like Haskell, OCaml, and Elixir. While these are the tools we're currently using, you don't need to have previous experience with all of them. We know that good developers are capable of quickly picking up new languages and tools.

To succeed in this role, you should be:

ยท Curious. You aren't content with the status quo and know that we can always improve.

ยท Collaborative. You can work with others to improve a solution.

ยท Empathetic. Your designs are influenced by a deep understanding of the customers' needs.

ยท A strong communicator. You will proactively communicate issues and trade-offs with team members to support alignment and fast decision making.

ยท Be an outstanding developer. Your peers should recognize you as one of the best and the brightest developers they have worked with.

Bonus points for:

ยท Leading an engineering team or running a consulting company.

ยท Experience with functional languages like Elm, Haskell, OCaml, or Elixir.

ยท Previous Logistics experience.

TriumphPay is a division of TBK Bank, SSB, Member of FDIC and Equal Housing Lender, and a member of the Triumph Bancorp, Inc. (Nasdaq: TBK) group. Triumph Bancorp is a financial holding company with a diversified line of community banking, national lending, and commercial finance products.

We work with IT security professionals and ethical hackers to help them find security holes and vulnerabilities in systems before the bad guys do.

There is a lot of creativity and innovation involved in findings those holes. Unfortunately, itโ€™s not all fun and games, in order for their โ€œfindingsโ€ to be useful, they need to document their results, track progress, notify stakeholders, review mitigations implemented, verify, re-test, etc. There is a lot of overhead involved in the process.

Surprising no one, IT Security experts like the fun and games but donโ€™t like the overhead/ back-office stuff. Thatโ€™s where we come in, we exist to make the life of IT Security professionals easier, better, more enjoyable by making all of these overhead tasks easier and more painless.

We've been in business for 12 years, completely self-funded and profitable. Today, we serve over 440 Infosecurity teams across 37 different countries.

Whatโ€™s the opportunity?

Weโ€™re looking to hire our 8th full-time employee, a well-rounded Rails developer.

In this role, you will learn a ton and be part of a small, global, and user-centered company.

Youโ€™ll have the opportunity to make a difference to the lives of 100s of hackers. Plus, as a small team, you will will have a lot of choice about what to work on, and there are still a lot of untapped opportunities for you to grow as the company does.

Daniel at the BlackHat conference

Our founder, Daniel, presenting at the BlackHat conference.

What's in it for you?

-ย Work anywhereย โ€“ We're 100% remote.

-ย Flexible work hoursย - Provided you have reasonable overlap with the team (roughly within EU/US Eastern business hours).

-ย Great salaryย โ€“ You will be making more than others in your region.

-ย Flexible vacationย โ€“ Take time off when you need it, we trust you (no less than 4 weeks each year).

-ย No external pressuresย - Our users are king, we do what's best for them. We're self-funded, and don't have any investors, so we can make the right decisions for our customers without worrying about artificial deadlines or financial targets.

-ย Autonomyย โ€“ You will be given a lot of freedom to do what you think is right, without needing to explain every decision.

-ย Meaningful workย โ€“ You will take initiative and ownership to see things through to completion. We won't micro-manage you. And your work will be measured by your results.

- You'll be working in the two greatest markets in the world these days... Software & Security.

- You will have great hardware and tools to work with.

What we offer and what we are looking for

You'll be a trusted and key member of our team, and this is (some of) what you'll end up doing on a day-to-day basis:

  • Improve the experience for our users, help them get the results they need.

  • Detect opportunities to enhance and improve our stack.

  • Extend the coverage of our API layer.

  • Improve our existing products and internal systems. We want to learn from you as you learn from us.

  • Prioritize and decide what features we should tackle next.

Our stack

  • Rails 6 (although we started with Rails 1.2 in 2007)

  • JS, Stimulus, CoffeeScript and Sass

  • Bootstrap and jQuery

  • Postgres and MySQL

  • Sinatra, Resque, Middlemanapp, Chef, Vagrant, Nginx, Unicorn,รขโ‚ฌยฆ

We're looking for a solid Rubyist with ยซadequateยป experience who is comfortable in a 100% remote team and is self-driven.

This is a full-time position for the right candidate and it has an immediate start date. Work 100% remotely (although you need to have a home base - i.e. no perma-travellers this time, sorry!).

This position might be for you if:

  • You've held a remote position before, or you've held a similar position of responsibility in a traditional organisation but now are looking toย improve your work-life balance.

  • You are a well-rounded individual, work is not everything in life, you may have a family and social life. You work hard when it's work time and areย able to switch offย when it isn't.

  • You're comfortable communicating with others verbally and in writing.ย Our team is spread across the world, and so are our clients.

  • You are organised, like to be on top of your responsibilities and don't let things slip through the cracks. You will be sure to include the name of your favourite tv series as part of your application.

  • You have a knack for design / UX will be a plus. Background in Information Security wouldn't hurt either.

-ย You believe in giving back to the community. We started with an open-source project and to this day we remain firm believers of open-source and giving back. Part of what you will be creating with the team will be released as open-source.

**OVERVIEW**\n\nWe're looking for Security Engineers to join our Engineering team. In this role, you will build innovative payments products that delight both engineering and finance teams. As an early member of the engineering team, you will help shape the engineering culture of a fast-growing startup.\n\nThe core platform at Modern Treasury sits between our customers and their banks. In the same way that Twilio abstracted away the complexity of working with communication networks, we have built an easy-to-use, common interface into the banking system. Our customers use our products to do things like move money to or from their users, automate back-office work, and record their transaction ledgers. The companies that can use Modern Treasury move over $750 trillion a year via bank payments, as compared to only $2 trillion per year on card payments.\n\nOur API is often the most critical piece of infrastructure that our customers use. We place a premium on building robust, scalable systems that can sustain a high volume of API calls and exceed the reliability requirements to move money at scale. We complement this with well-thought out interfaces for our users and pride in writing quality API docs.\n\nWe believe in using the best tool for the job, rather than always using open source or building things ourselves. We actively embrace open source in parts of our system but aren't afraid to roll our own solution for things like writing and parsing bank files. We also contribute to open source (for example, https://www.moderntreasury.com/journal/continuous-accounting-building-on-an-open-source-library).\n\nIn addition to our API, we have had a web platform since day 1 that is used by accountants, controllers, and engineers. They use our platform to do things like manage payment workflows and monitor their business. As an engineer, you will work with our product team to build products and features for these users.\n\n**ABOUT MODERN TREASURY**\n\nModern Treasury is payment operations software for businesses with a high volume of transactions or complex payment flows. Modern Treasury automates the full cycle of money movement โ€” from payment initiation, through approvals, to reconciliation.\n\nOur mission is to transform the way businesses move and track money, driving toward a world where payments are real-time, reconciliation is instant, and accounting is continuous.\n\n**WEEK BY WEEK**\n\nDuring your first week you will:\n* Get to know our leadership, culture, and values\n* Onboard with the engineering team\n* Ship your first commit on day 1\n* Take on 1-2 small tickets to address bugs or make minor improvements\n* Read our favorite industry primers\n\nDuring your first six weeks you will:\n* Ship your first major project\n* Write your first blog post. We love writing at Modern Treasury (and have been on the front page of Hacker News multiple times with posts like "What Happens When You ACH a Dead Person?" and "How to Build an Insurance Company")\n* Shadow a few customer and partner meetings every week\n\nDuring your first six months you will:\n* Work with our product team to scope and ship products for both our engineering and finance users\n* Help grow our team by mentoring new engineers, writing internal tooling and documentation, and interviewing new hires\n\n**WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE**\n* Experience building web applications professionally for 2+ years\n* Experience working with SQL/Relational databases\n\n**TECHNOLOGIES WE USE**\n* Ruby on Rails for our backend framework\n* React, GraphQL, and Tailwind CSS on the front end\n* Postgres for our database\n* Redis for caching\n* AWS for infrastructure and hosting\n* Docker for containerization\n* GitHub for source code management\n* Buildkite for continuous integration\n\n**EOE**\n\nModern Treasury is committed to equal employment opportunity and does not discriminate in any employment opportunities or practices based on an individual's race, color, creed, gender (including gender identity and gender expression), religion (all aspects of religious beliefs, observance or practice, including religious dress or grooming practices), marital status, registered domestic partner status, age, national origin or ancestry (including language use restrictions and possession of a driverโ€™s license issued under California Vehicle Code section 12801.9), natural hair, physical or mental disability, political affiliation, medical condition (including cancer or a record or history of cancer, and genetic characteristics), sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding or related medical condition), genetic information, sexual orientation, military and veteran status or any other consideration made unlawful by federal, state, or local laws. # **Remote Full Stack Developer for Likvido (C#/.NET 5/VueJS/Kubernetes/Azure)**\n\nHello there! Are you ready for a really ambitious position as a full stack .NET developer?\n\nAnd yes, the role is fully remote so you can do your job wherever you want; from the beach, the pyramids, even from the moon if you like (well, of course you need to have an internet connection).\n\nLikvido is a (very) fast-growing startup. We are around 60 employees now, and we are aiming for a series A funding to realize our huuuuge ambitions for the coming years. \n\nWe are now looking for a skilled full stack .NET developer that can impact our products and become a part of our remote tech Likvido family.\n\n\n**Letโ€™s be polite and introduce ourselves first - so who are we and what are we doing?**\n\nLet's face it: accounting sucks. Entering data into a stupid system? Sending invoices? Trying to get the last decimals to match so your auditor doesnโ€™t scream at you?\n\nWe would prefer spending time with family or friends. The same goes for our customers.\n\nAt Likvido we are automating accounting for our customers. We do this by having a super awesome product that helps you:\n\n- Send โ€œsmart invoicesโ€ that reconcile themselves \n- Send automatic reminders for invoices that go unpaid\n- Pay your bills in Likvido so you donโ€™t have to go to your bank (and the bills of course reconcile themselves)\n- Automatically scan all your receipts and bills so you donโ€™t have to enter data again\n- Get paid if an invoice has not been paid on time through our debt collection system\n\nIf you *really* hate accounting, we also have an accountant service where our accountants take care of everything for a small price.\n\nSo to summarize what Likvido is doing:\nWe are letting you focus on what matters, instead of spending time on boring administrative work.\n\n\n**Tech stack**\n\nOur main application is a web application, where our customers can interact with the product. This web application consists of a VueJS frontend and an API - using the Backend For Frontend (BFF) approach. This means we are evolving the frontend and API in a symbiosis, where the API requests are tailored to the exact use-cases of the frontend. The styling of the frontend is a custommade look built with Sass and designed by our in-house UX/UI designer in cooperation with Studio Skulptur: https://www.studioskulptur.com/likvido. The API is running on .NET 5 and written in C#, but we also have a legacy ASP.NET MVC application running on old .NET framework - which we are in the process of getting rid of.\n\nWe run all of our services in Microsoft Azure. The most recent services are running on AKS (Azure Kubernetes Services), and the legacy services are running on App Service. Our goal is to move everything to AKS. All of our source code is hosted on Github and we use Github Actions to deploy our services to AKS. We deploy to production at least once per day.\n\nWe use SQL Server and Azure Blobs for our data storage needs. We might introduce MongoDB or CosmosDB for specific use cases, as we are generally very open to adopting new technologies, whenever they provide some nice improvements over our current stack. \n\nOur general architecture is to build bounded contexts, with a number of services and databases inside each context. The services are small and scalable, and we use both queues, event grids and HTTP APIs for communicating between services.\n\nYou will join our current team, consisting of 9 developers, both frontend and full stack developers, plus a product team with UX/UI designers and product managers. We expect you to participate in the whole product workflow - from idea to production. You will help build new features, do code reviews, make releases, and make sure your features work and continue to work in production. You will also help us push forward our technical stack and infrastructure, to improve the performance, availability and scalability of our products.\n\n\n**Responsibilities**\n\nBeing a Full Stack Developer at Likvido, your job is to improve our product and build great technical solutions!\n\nDay-to-day that means:\n- Implement new features (C# + JavaScript)\n- Help maintain our current products\n- Actively participate in team meetings, discussing product feature improvements as well as technical issues and improvements\n- Make code-reviews and be responsible for the features you build\n- Help push forward our platform and codebase, to make sure it is easy to maintain and performs well\n\nYou will also participate in the development process like your other colleagues, which means maintaining the current codebase, adding new features, doing code reviews etc. We are moving towards forming small autonomous teams, with a very high level of ownership and influence over the product and the technologies. This environment provides a lot of freedom for the teams to take control over their work, and let their creativity unfold.\n\n\n**Requirements**\n\nWe are looking for someone who can say โ€œYES!โ€ to the following:\n- I am a senior full stack developer with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position.\n- I put great pride in my work, and I like to solve challenging problems in ways that will make maintenance easy.\n- I enjoy following the technology trends and consider how they can be used to solve the problems we face.\n- I have strong opinions, but I understand and respect the opinions of others as well, and I will seek to resolve conflicts in a productive manner.\n- I have multiple years of experience with\n - C#\n - Modern .NET stack (.Net Core, .NET 5)\n - JavaScript (VueJS and TypeScript is a bonus)\n - Git\n - MSSQL\n\nSo without further ado: If you consider yourself a top full stack developer, and feel like having a very ambitious role is the next step in your career - APPLY!\n\n\n**What we offer - and a few practicalities!**\n\n๐Ÿ’ฐ Competitive salary\n๐ŸŒด Vacation \n๐Ÿ“– Learning & dev budget\nโฐ Flexible hours\n๐Ÿ—บ 100% Remote\n๐ŸŒŽ International environment\n๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ AND we expect you to be fluent in english\n \n\nPlease mention the words **OYSTER CURIOUS KITCHEN** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi42Nw==).
