\nFounded in 2012, Évasion offers luxury hotel rooms worldwide to Korean consumers through a registration-based web site. We aim to change the way Asian travelers enjoy their free time and to help them discover the world.\n\nThe current tech team is very small and currently relies on external vendors, but will grow significantly over the next couple of years, and we are looking for a senior developer to lead this effort, taking responsibility for the digital infrastructure of the company:\n\n\n* \n\ndelivering the Évasion service to consumers (web sites, mobile apps, etc.)\n\n\n* \n\nempowering Évasion staff (developing and optimizing operational tools)\n\n\n* \n\nsupporting our interaction with partners (extranet and API integration with hotels and other suppliers)\n\n\n\n\n\nYou'll ensure Évasion has scalable, affordable, reliable, and high-performance systems to support the growth of the business in Korea and abroad, enabling constant product innovation and optimization.\n\nYou'll be responsible for the IT team, on the engineering side of course, overseeing technology choices, code quality, security, and infrastructure, but also on the HR side, including recruitment and career development of your team members.\n\nAlso, we'd like you to help foster a culture of individual initiative, collective solidarity, and tangible results, across the entire business.\n\nRequired:\n\n\n* fluent English (must be comfortable presenting to company executives)\n\n* familiarity with PHP, MySQL and the Amazon Web Services platform, serving tens of thousands of users\n\n* experience with continuous integration and test-driven development\n\n\n\n\nNice to have:\n\n\n* business-level Korean, experience with Korean payment gateways\n\n* 'full-stack' experience, from server-side performance and scaling considerations to web and native mobile front-ends\n\n* in-house team and outsourcing vendor management experience\n\n\n\n\nWhite board virtuose, opinionated but a great listener, you're passionate about building things the right way and excited about getting your team's work in front of users.\n\nFor the right candidate, we will consider a remote posting or will apply for a work visa and help with the relocation. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
