Developing this technology is an ambitious project, so weโre looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated software engineer who is interested in getting involved with a wide range of technologies, from deploying IIoT devices all the way through to data visualisations.\n\n#### As a Senior Software Engineer, you will:\n* Be proactive in researching and identifying solutions to novel problems.\n* Design and implement business-critical systems that are well tested, highly secure, scalable, and reliable.\n* Work with equipment suppliers to establish strategies for systems integration.\n* Own the delivery of features across the entire technology stack.\n* Take ownership of the systems youโre involved in creating by responding to incidents, diagnosing issues, and implementing fixes as soon as possible.\n* Be involved in building a team and charting a technical direction.Mentor and develop the skills of others around you, creating opportunities for progression.\n\n#### You may be a fit if you:\n* Have a strong technical background with experience in software engineering and systems architecture.\n* Enjoy sharing knowledge and working with others as part of a cross-functional team.\n* Are intellectually curious, and a great problem solver.\n* Have successfully delivered full-stack JavaScript projects, utilising the Node.js runtime and React to develop user interfaces.\n* Are a technologist who can turn their hand to new languages and software solutions.\n* Have developedย cloud-based data processing pipelines, ideally using AWS.\n* Avoid over-engineering solutions and look to implement the simplest solution that meets the requirements.\n* Are comfortable creating CI/CDย pipelines and debugging issues when your deployments fail.\n* Have implemented infrastructure-as-code to safely manage your infrastructure and to help you recover from disasters quickly.\n* Are honest and own your mistakes.\n\nDon't worry if you don't meet all of the criteria we've listed here. We'd still like to hear from you!\n\n#### What weโre offering:\n* A competitive salary of between 65 and 80K depending on experience.\n* Share options in the business.\n* The chance to learn and work with cutting-edge technologies.\n* Remote working from within the UK. You will need to be able to visit our Bristol office every now and then.\n* Flexible working hours.\n* The opportunity to help decarbonise transport.\n* SmartPension Scheme - employer 5% employee 3% and you can contribute more. \n\nPlease mention the words **INHALE MAD VERB** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4xMjU=). \nABOUT ROOSTERMONEY:\nRoosterMoney is a pocket money & allowance tracking app that helps parents teach their kids the value of money in a digital age. Simple, progressive and gameful, we bring to life all the sound traditional financial principles we were brought up with (or wish we were!) and make managing money smart, fun & relevant for the modern world.\nWe believe the world would be a better place if we all talked about money a little earlier on in life. Research shows that our money habits are formed by the age of seven. Thats a pretty amazing opportunity to help give kids a head-start in building habits that will stick with them for life.\n\n \nWHY ROOSTERMONEY?RoosterMoney has been featured in The Times, Telegraph, Guardian, FT, Wall Street Journal, CNBC, Australian Herald to name a few. Hundreds of thousands of families have downloaded the RoosterMoney app since our launch in January 2016. We are looking for a talented and motivated senior UI developer to join our team to help us achieve even more amazing things. We have a generous share option scheme and youll be joining us as we expand across a number of new territories. \n\n\nTHE ROLE:\nWe're looking for a software developer who has held mid-senior positions on front-end engineering teams, who will operate with a high level of autonomy. \nYou will be developing our core RoosterMoney app and working across the platform as a whole within our small but growing product team (currently 8), building an application that is used by families around the world. You have a passion for UX and UI, best practice development and building a product that delights users on a daily basis, taking pride in shipping quality code that is easy to test, maintain and build on. You care deeply about building applications with well thought out architecture.\n\n\n Aside from developing front-end applications, we expect you will also become involved with ops and back-end work with our Node APIs where required.\n\n\nWe are a small team so its important that the successful candidate isnt just technically highly competent but is a good cultural fit. We run daily stand-ups, two week sprint cycles, retrospectives and utilise Slack for Chat and Jira for ticket and stream management. We use video calls to stay in contact and monthly all team meetings (State of the Rooster). We gather together every quarter for All Hands to celebrate successes, share ideas and plan for the next quarter of hustle.\n\n\nApply if you want to:\n * Work closely with a small group of determined, like-minded people to reshape the way families talk and engage with money around the world.\n * Play a critical role in the design and development of our app.\n * Ship and take ownership of impactful new features and functionality.\n * Develop robust deployment and testing processes \n * Share your knowledge and passion with the rest of the team in making the app best in class.\n \n\n\nBenefits\n\nIn addition to a competitive salary:\n \n * Work with a fun, passionate team building something awesome.\n * 25 days holiday\n * Pension Scheme\n * Employee Option Scheme so you can benefit for all the input you put into the company.\n * We will consider remote working for this role so long as you can spend up to 20% of your time in our London Bridge Hub office.
