\nIts an exciting time at Crossbeam. Just a year and a half post launch, we have hundreds of companies using our platform, just secured $25M in Series B funding, and are working with awesome strategic investors like Salesforce, Hubspot, Slack, and Okta. Best of all, were just getting started. In a market full of uncertainty, we are fortunate to have an unwavering long-term vision and the funding to see it through at full speed.\nCrossbeam helps companies partner with each other in a more data-driven way by acting as an escrow service for data. Our platform allows companies to find overlapping customers and prospects with their partners while keeping the rest of their data private and secure.\nWith this big idea comes some fun and unique technical challenges: Were like a social network for data warehouses, so the data gets big and our results need to show up fast; we need to reliably find matches between data sets originating from different systems; we need our users to love the experience and capture real value every step of the way; security and trust are paramount. And theres more where that came from.\nYoull join a small-but-mighty team of experienced engineers to take our software from early success to enterprise scale. This is an opportunity to truly influence and contribute meaningfully to our product and engineering practices.\nResponsibilities include\n * Developing new features and improvements to Crossbeams products in a secure, well-tested, and performant way.\n * Collaborating with Product Management, Engineering, Design, and Customer Success teams to iterate on features and enhancements.\n * Participating in the Code Review process, where youll learn our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices.\n * Consistently shipping features and enhancements with guidance from other team members.\n * Helping identify areas of improvement in the code base and contributing to make it better.\n * Learning with, collaborating, and teaching your team members. Everyone can contribute something new to the team regardless of experience.\n * Fixing prioritize support issues which are reported by users and/or our Customer Success team\n \n\nThese are some of your traits\n * You have at least five years professional experience on an engineering team. \n * You have deep knowledge of a modern frontend framework, like Vue or React, and of REST APIs.\n * You have experience writing backend code that is simple and performant.\n * You have an understanding of interacting with databases, preferably relational (ideally Postgres or MySQL, but Mongo and other NoSQL databases work too).\n * You have have experience with a cloud technology (AWS ideally, but Azure, etc, acceptable)\n * You believe in creating space for people with different backgrounds and viewpoints to share their opinions in a respectful environment.\n * You embrace complex technical challenges and thrive on discovering simple solutions.\n * Youre not afraid to speak up when you have a point of view, but can disagree and commit once a final decision is reached.\n * You have an unrivaled work ethic, and are excited to learn from the team around you.\n * You have experience working remotely as part of a larger team.\n \n\nHow We Work\nWe are a small team of experienced engineers shipping lots of code. We collaborate early and often, putting an emphasis on designing technical solutions before coding them. Our team has always emphasized remote work, with teammates in the Philadelphia area and distributed across the country. Were committed to a remote-first culture, with the majority of our collaborative work happening on Slack and Zoom. \nWhen were able and when travel feels comfortable, well celebrate with team offsites and events about once a quarter, and welcome our remote team to join for some facetime whenever they can. In the meantime, were focused on creating the best experience possible for new team members from a distance.\nAbout Crossbeam\nCrossbeam is a collaborative data platform that helps companies build more valuable partnerships. We have an office in Philadelphia as well as a number of remote teammates across the US.\nOur Values\nTrust is our business. We create value by building trust in our company, our team, our technology, and our network. Never let anything compromise that trust.\nFeed the Network. Our customer network is our most valuable asset. Prioritize its growth.\nEquity. We will build a workplace that ensures everyone access to the same opportunities to share in our success.\nThis is Fun. Few people are lucky enough to do what we do. Follow the fun in every step of the journey.\n\nBenefits\n\nThis is a salaried role. In addition, Crossbeam offers:\n * Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)\n * Flexible PTO Policy\n * Parental leave\n * Free Food & Snacks\n * Stock Option Plan\n * 401k Plan\n \n \nFully remote candidates are encouraged to apply. We have an office in Center City Philadelphia which weve closed temporarily due to COVID-19, with everyone working remotely. When were comfortable reopening the office, local candidates are also welcome to work from our Center City Philadelphia headquarters some or all of the time. \nCrossbeam's core value of Equity sits at the heart of our hiring process, and we're proud to be building a culture where difference is valued. Applicants from diverse and non-traditional backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply. We recruit, employ, train, compensate and promote regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender, disability, age, or veteran status. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n

\nHello!\n\nThanks for taking a look at the job description for the Senior Fullstack at Impala. We felt a little bit impersonal just throwing you right in there with words like “revolutionizing” and “disrupting”.\n\nAs such, we want you to know that the person that wrote this job description apologises in advance for any clichés, tropes or sudden-insecurity-driven-panic-attacks that you might find in the description below.\n\nWhat is Impala now?\n\nImpala makes building travel software incredibly easy. We provide hotels with a powerful data management platform that makes connecting to software, hardware and room distributors extremely easy. Think Twilio for Travel.\n\nWe launched in January 2019 and since then have grown at - quite frankly - a ridiculous old clip. Our technology is already installed in hundreds of hotels worldwide, on six continents and categorises more than 1 billion data points.\n\nWe are a growing team of exceptional people split across engineering, product and commercial that have built a fantastic community.\n\nWhere is Impala going?\n\nWe’re supported by some of the best investors in the business, the early stage backers behind Deliveroo, PillPack, SecretEscapes, Zoopla, Trivago and more. They’re on board because of our vision - revolutionizing a $1.6 trillion dollar market that’s been out-of-date for 20 years.\n\nWithin the next two years, 25% of hotel bookings worldwide will flow through Impala technology and the product that we’re building will support the entire ecosystem of travel technology (we already have over a thousand companies signed up).\n\nAnyone travelling anywhere will interact with products powered by Impala and to achieve this we’re growing the team to 50 people within the next year. So now is the most exciting time to be joining Impala as we go through a large push to scale up!\n\nA brief overview of what you will be doing here:\n\n\n* Work across our agile teams as a frontend engineering resource before becoming a dedicated member of one of the teams.\n\n* You’ll add features to our existing UIs and also create new UI products that allow our technology partners and their hotels to better manage their applications and data.\n\n* Improve the security features across all of our frontend products.\n\n* You’ll add functionality to our internal tools that allow our support team to better service customers.\n\n* You’ll analyze and optimise (be that UX, performance, security) new and existing features to continually improve our products.\n\n\n\n\nYou should join us if:\n\n\n* You have significant React experience and good knowledge of JS fundamentals\n\n* You feel comfortable working closely with product owners, designers, UX experts and the ability to translate their designs/requirements into maintainable, componentised UIs.\n\n* You are extremely collaborative, Impala’s engineering team is not political, everyone has great ideas and should be open to input. We have no space for brilliant jerks.\n\n* You are passionate about customer experience and building high quality maintainable software that looks and works fantastically.\n\n\n\n\nWhere will you work?\n\nThis is a remote position (all of our engineering team and some of our other staff members are distributed). This means you can work from anywhere +/- 2 Hours of London, timezone wise (and less than a 3 hour flight). As part of that:\n\n\n* We offer an office stipend (you can furnish a home office or choose a coworking space near you).\n\n* We give you an additional significant start-up equipment budget for things like monitors, keyboards, headphones etc.\n\n* You’ll travel once a quarter to meet the rest of the engineering team somewhere in Europe.\n\n* You’ll have a budget to travel to team socials if you’d like to meet everyone in person more frequently.\n\n\n\n\nPlease note, we only accept candidates in Western Europe because of timezone and travel time differences. We make no exceptions (we don’t have time to!).\n\nWhat you will get in return? \n\n\n* We’re in the top 14% of companies in the UK for holiday that we offer, at 36 days.\n\n* We also offer Impalans one Unsick day per year.\n\n* Impala believes that great people should be able to focus on developing mastery of their skills, even if they don’t want to manage people. Here you’ll be able to access 3.5x the average annual raise, even staying in the same role.\n\n* We invest in your development and will support you to realise your potential with our generous Professional Development budget.\n\n* We offer all engineers a Weekly Recess Hour. This is an hour to take off and step out from work and invest in You Time! Lawn mow, yoga, walk or movie anyone?\n\n* We offer an extended lunch break option, meaning you can take an extra hour lunch break, and we trust you to make up for it later in the day.\n\n* We offer a stipend to set up your ideal place of work. You can choose between the option of £150 per month to build out your home office, or we’ll pay for your membership at a coworking space near you up to £350.\n\n* In addition, we give you a special Personalised Workspace Equipment budget for things like monitors, keyboards, headphones or desk chairs.\n\n* You’ll travel once a quarter to meet the rest of the team in an engineer colocation week, somewhere in Europe.\n\n* You’ll have a Social Budget to travel to/from & stay in London for a night, for our monthly Impala Social.\n\n* You’ll have a generous Friend & Family Budget, to get your close friends and family over once a year.\n\n* We’ll organise socials around your area with other remote workers.\n\n* We have a Health & Wellbeing scheme in place, offering you the option of a monthly gym membership reimbursement each month, or a health food voucher each month; access to Headspace; Vitality health insurance (UK only); plus the chance to win a massage monthly. Plus loads more.\n\n* Perkbox. A platform designed to help you to live a better life by personalising, managing, delivering and measuring the best company perks in real-time. \n\n* You’ll be working somewhere that encourages collaboration, is transparent, has a strong focus on wellbeing, and doesn’t just pay lip service to it’s Core Values.\n\n\n\n\nFor more information about what it's like working here, check out our Glassdoor page.\n\nSound interesting? \n\nIf your answer is yes and you are really excited to learn more then please check out our Medium page which includes more information about who we are, what we do, what matters to us, and our culture.\n\nWant to know more about our CEO, or want a deeper understanding of our what and why? \nOn being a Fullstack Engineer at resin.io\n\nWe maintain a service infrastructure for IoT devices, and this is where we have quite a bit of our engineering talent. You will be actively working on one or more of these core components, fixing bugs, solving complex technical problems, and implementing user-facing features across the resin.io stack. While resin.io focuses on IoT, the majority of our engineers don't require embedded programming expertise.\n\nPeople who are successful engineers are well-rounded generalists and great communicators. They are eager to take responsibility for a project, and are able to make good decisions about the project because they have the context of what's important.\n\nWe don't require engineers to be already familiar with the technologies we use. We are happy to invest in people that showcase a strong understanding of the challenges of building secure distributed systems.\n\n\nResponsibilities\n\n\n* Actively invest back in our own technology, libraries, and frameworks\n\n* Understand security best practices and strive to apply them in your work\n\n* Be highly motivated to produce great code\n\n* Evaluate customer requirements and other inputs to determine the scope and timing of new functionality\n\n* Design, architect, and own the execution of your projects\n\n* Ensure the architecture of our distributed system remains cohesive\n\n* Collaborate, brainstorm, and coordinate work with other resineers\n\n* Understand the high-level goals, and thus know how to prioritize your work\n\n* Challenge orthodoxy when that will help the product evolve\n\n* Work efficiently with a certain amount of ambiguity in the tasks you're executing\n\n\n\n\n\n\nREQUIREMENTS\n\nNeed to have:\n\n\n* Desire to make yourself and others more effective. You'd be bothered by an inefficient process\n\n* Good understanding of software engineering practices and how to apply them\n\n* Excellent written communication skills, and fluency in English\n\n* Self-discipline to take on a project and push it to completion without too much management. You also know when to ask for help\n\n* Strong problem-solving abilities. You know how to split a complex problem into incremental pieces\n\n* Experience with backend and frontend technologies\n\n\n\n\nNice to have:\n\n\n* A sample of your work (URL or attached sample)\n\n* Contributions to OSS projects (please include a URL)\n\n* Having worked remotely before\n\n* Experience with Resin.io as a user\n\n* Experience with embedded GNU/Linux, anything ranging from personal projects with a Raspberry Pi to commercial or industrial scenarios with custom devices\n\n* Experience with React, Node.js, Docker, PostgreSQL, or Kubernetes\n\n* Experience with embedded development and microprocessors\n\n* Experience with the Electron framework and cross-platform development\n\n* Experience leading software projects in the open source world\n\n\n\n\nMake sure to let us know if any of these items apply to you! \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
