Finley Technologies is hiring a

Remote Software Engineer

\nBackground\n\n\nFinley helps innovative companies unlock growth by helping them maximize their access to debt capital. \n\n\nIn industries from finance to real estate, today's most innovative startups rely on debt capital to fuel their growth. But managing debt capital manually is so error-prone and labor-intensive that it might as well be rocket science. Debt capital borrowers need to track (and comply with) hundreds of pages of credit agreement rules and requirements in order to maintain access to their funding. One key borrower obligation is data and compliance reporting. \n\n\nOur software automates debt capital management and reporting by connecting with source systems and generating asset reports in the formats capital providers expect to see, which saves borrowers time and money as well as ensuring that they can maximize their capital access. \n\n\n\n\nThe Role\n\n\nWeโ€™re looking for Software Engineers to join our Engineering team. As an early employee, youโ€™ll be responsible for designing, building, and testing an entirely new category of capital markets software from the ground up. Youโ€™ll architect and build the infrastructure that helps fintechs around the world collectively manage billions of dollars. Just as importantly, youโ€™ll help shape the engineering culture and trajectory of a Series A startup.\n\n\nWeโ€™re looking for 0 โ†’ 1 individuals who are comfortable with autonomy early on and excited to build structures that will scale their own impact over time. In other words, weโ€™re looking for candidates who want to build a lasting company just as much as they want to build industry-changing software. \n\n\nWe believe in finding the best technology for the job, and being disciplined with only adopting the tools that actually let us move faster, build more securely, and enable a higher quality of life. We hate inefficiency and embrace intellectual debate to constantly find ways to make our lives easier and products better. Our tech stack (see below) reflects that philosophy. \n\n\n\nYour responsibilities\n* You will be responsible for helping architect, build, and scale the first lender-borrower relationship platform for the debt capital markets.\n* You will work with the team to design, product manage, and test early features for the Finley system.\n* You will become an expert in information security, data engineering and API design in a heavily regulated space.\n* You will become an expert on structured finance (no worries, weโ€™ll fill you in!) and the ways in which technology can bring standardization to a field accustomed to legacy solutions.\n* You will help grow the Finley team by helping interview job candidates, mentor new engineers, and document standard operating procedures.\n\n\n\nOur tech stack\n* Backend: NodeJS + Express, Apollo Server, Typescript\n* Frontend: React + Hooks, Typescript, GraphQL, Apollo Client\n* Database: Postgres + Knex\n* Infrastructure: AWS, Docker, ECS, CDK\n\n\n\nWe're looking for\n* Builders. You have experience building web applications for 5+ years and can scope and ship products independently. \n* Problem-solvers. You focus on delivering outcomes and prefer to use the right tool for the job, rather than building for buildingโ€™s sake. (That said, getting excited about our tech stack built on Node.js, React, GraphQL and AWS wouldnโ€™t hurt. See above.) \n* Collaborators. You like collaborating with Business, Design, and Product functions in addition to other engineers. You stay intellectually honest, challenge others without ego, and believe that the best solutions only emerge when everyone brings their perspective to the table.\n* Systems thinkers. You enjoy the complexity of designing for a range of stakeholders (think borrowers, lenders, and banks) and source systems. You get excited about designing for the long-term. \n* Team-builders. You look forward to helping recruit, train, and mentor a team of engineers at Finley. \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Design, React, GraphQL, Finance, API and Engineer jobs that are similar:\n\n $47,500 — $80,000/year\n

Netlify is hiring a

Remote Senior Backend Engineer

\nAbout the Team:\n\nAt Netlify, our engineers are at the core of our mission to become the de facto composable platform for every enterprise company. Netlify has been remote-first since our inception and weโ€™re globally distributed, spanning across North America and Europe. Weโ€™re biased towards asynchronous planning and communication and take documentation seriously, meaning fewer meetings and more execution!\n\nAs a Senior Backend Engineer (Typescript, NodeJS, GraphQL, and a willingness to jump into other languages/frontend if needed) at Netlify, you'll work with a smart and empathetic set of team members who are very motivated to keep learning and continuing to grow each other in a supportive way.  You can expect to deploy code multiple times a day with a massive production scale, directly impacting millions of developers all around the world. We foster a blameless culture where we solve problems as a team and everyone works together towards a common goal.  \n\nWhat Youโ€™ll Do:\n\n\n* Consistently delivering product features within your pillar and owning the systems from beginning to end, including expanding functionality, testing and debugging, investigating production issues, and shipping code that directly impacts important user experience and business metrics.\n\n* Gain extensive knowledge about Netlify and dive deeply into our codebase to become familiar with its inner workings. Youโ€™ll be using your extensive NodeJS and Typescript knowledge and technical breadth to ship clean, quality code and follow modern development  conventions.\n\n* Partner with the team to manage the GraphQL API. \n\n* With over 10% of Internet users visiting at least one site hosted by Netlify every 30 days, youโ€™ll be well-versed in designing for scale to enable the performance of our systems.\n\n* Youโ€™ll be partnering closely with other cross-functional peers, including Product Managers, Designers, Technical Writers, and Support Engineers to broaden your connections across the organization and enable significant organizational impact.\n\n* Establish strong async communication rhythms with your peers and leaders, practicing transparency and visibility in your progress against areas of focus.\n\n* Join the on-call rotation and help the team pay down technical debt and improve reliability.\n\n* Solicit feedback from your peers, including other engineers and teammates in your product team, and support your team through thoughtful feedback.\n\n* Continually improving our engineering standards through code reviews, advocating for continuous improvement within our code base, and making a meaningful impact on Netlifyโ€™s engineering practice and tooling\n\n* Growing your skills by participating in our community as we learn and grow together\n\n\n\n\nWhat You'll Bring:\n\n\n* Strong development  expertise with several years of experience in developing production-level Typescript / NodeJS-centered projects. While our main language is TypeScript,  we also have projects that span across multiple languages. We believe in picking the right language for the right problem.\n\n* Exposure to GraphQL and experience in creating and managing GraphQL APIs is strongly preferred.\n\n* An extensive history of delivering product features & deploying services with a high level of comfort iterating on a system while it is constantly serving traffic. Our system is always on with demanding availability and throughput challenges.\n\n* Ability to work well independently and quickly ramp up. Youโ€™re not afraid to ask questions in order to unblock yourself\n\n* Demonstrated pattern of delivering high-quality, performant code with a strong appetite for learning\n\n* Curiosity and openness to learning new technologies and best practices\n\n* Passion for working in a collaborative environment, where you enjoy working with a diverse group of people with different expertise working across distributed locations around the world and a deep appreciation for documentation and asynchronous communication practices.\n\n* The ability to thrive in an environment where experimentation and failure are celebrated\n\n* We welcome remote candidates based in North American timezones\n\n* Comfortable working in an environment that is constantly evolving. At Netlify, weโ€™re always iterating, learning, and growing and weโ€™re looking for team members who thrive in that environment.\n\n\n\n\n \n\nApplying\n\nNot sure you meet 100% of our qualifications? Please apply anyway!\n\nWhen applying please include: \n\nA resume or short listing of your job history & skills (link to a LinkedIn profile would be fine). We appreciate a cover letter explaining why you would enjoy working in this role at Netlify to get to know you a bit better, though this is not required and will not impact your application. Our mission is to โ€œbuild a better webโ€ and that cannot be done without a diversity of skill sets, backgrounds and thoughts. \n\nOf everything we've ever built at Netlify, we are most proud of our team. Netlify is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We are devoted to building a team of people with diverse backgrounds and lifestyles. Driving equality empowers our team, enables us to innovate, and helps us maintain a more inclusive environment. We donโ€™t discriminate against employees or applicants based on gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion, age, race, military/veteran status, citizenship, pregnancy status, or any other differences. If we can do anything to provide a better interview, i.e. accommodate a disability, then please let us know by emailing [email protected]. \n\nAbout Netlify\n\nAt Netlify, weโ€™re on a mission to build a better web by making it easier than ever to build, deploy, and scale web applications. We are a Series D company with a $2B valuation and have raised over $200M from investors such as Andreessen Horowitz, Kleiner Perkins, EQT, Bessemer, BOND and Menlo Ventures. As a globally distributed organization, we aim to create a company culture where the best idea can come from anywhere and strive to be thoughtful, caring, and collaborative in our work within and across teams.  To learn a bit more about our team and who we are, make sure to visit our About page. \n\nAt Netlify, we are committed to equal pay for equal work. Netlify anchors our compensation philosophy on a market-based approach, therefore salary ranges may differ depending on the cost of labor in a particular location. Our base compensation for this role is targeted at $136,000 to $184,000 for most US-based locations. Candidates based outside of the US or in premium markets such as New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Boston, Seattle, and Austin should consult with their Talent Acquisition partner regarding location-based ranges, as they may be higher or lower than the average US range listed. The starting pay will be determined based on multiple factors, including expertise and skills, market demands, experience, internal equity, and applicable geographic location. The salary provided is in addition to robust benefits and participation in Netlifyโ€™s equity plan. These compensation packages and ranges are subject to change and may be modified in the future. Your Talent Acquisition partner will be available to answer any questions during the hiring process. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to GraphQL, Testing, Typescript, Senior, Engineer and Backend jobs that are similar:\n\n $55,000 — $102,500/year\n

Why work with us? ๐Ÿš€

  • Ability to take real ownership of major parts of an open source commerce platform.

  • Unlimited PTO that you can really take.
  • Flexible working schedule.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Please reference you found the job on Remote OK, this helps us get more companies to post here, thanks!

We build software for the FinTech industry, and we're looking for a solid engineer with NodeJS and GraphQL chops to help rebuild core banking software from the ground up. (It's more fun than it sounds. And yes, it's for an actual bank.)\n\nYou'll be expected to be a self-starter, meaning you need to be able to hear a problem described in broad strokes, extract meaningful requirements, define actionable tasks, and do them without having a ton of oversight. \n\nThis particular project is expected to last 3-6 months, and if you're a good fit, you'll be rolled into another project at the end of the contract. \n\n**If you cannot commit to a 6-month term, please do not reply.**\n\n# Responsibilities\n Building solid software. Writing meaningful tests. Dropping dank memes. Stuff like that. \n\n# Requirements\n* Full-time availability\n* Actual experience building software\n* Math. # Lead Product Engineer - Core Experience\nSegment is building the future of how companies manage their constantly increasing volume of customer data. We help our customers collect data from a variety of sources, combine and understand that data, and ultimately act on it to give their users a better experience.\nImagine you want to answer a question that is core to your business โ€” maybe you changed the pricing on your product and you want to understand if thatโ€™s driving revenue or creating churn and customer confusion. In order to properly answer that question, you would need data from your payment processor, your CRM, and telemetry data from your application. In the past, business teams have had to wait for developers to build ETL pipelines to move data from one place to another. This is painful, time-consuming, and doesnโ€™t keep up with the pace of the customer needs. Segment allows you to get all of this data in one place, automatically, and start using it immediately rather than spending time building data pipelines.\n## Who we are:\nWe're a small distributed team of full-stack engineers based in San Francisco, Vancouver and the world ๐ŸŒŽ who love to ship high-quality code.\nFrom collecting data through [analytics.js](https://github.com/segmentio/analytics.js), to building powerful tools for data governance, to implementing algorithms that can handle complex billing scenarios at scale, to optimizing Sign Up conversion, the Product Engineering team is focused on creating fantastic user experiences.\nWe're looking for talented engineers that are passionate about building world-class experiences that delight our customers.\n## How we work:\n- ๐Ÿ’… We enjoy building UIs in React so much that we created our own internal components library.\n- ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ We believe in using the best tool for the job. We write customer facing features using React, NodeJS and GraphQL. Our write-heavy traffic services are written with Go and leverage multiple data storage solutions.\n- ๐Ÿšข We deploy our code multiple times per day. We "semver" everything :)\n- ๐ŸŽค We love conferences. (An engineer spoke in 4 different countries last year!)\n- ๐Ÿ‘ฏ We love open source: https://open.segment.com\n- ๐Ÿ“ˆ Weโ€™re proud of the code we write, but weโ€™re not dogmatic about methodologies or techniques. We believe building the "right thing" is more important than building things "right".\n\n## Who we're looking for:\nYou can turn complex business requirements into working software that our customers love to use.\n- You're proud of the code you write, but you're also pragmatic.\n- You know when it is time to refactor, and when it's time to ship.\n- You're focused, driven and can get challenging projects across the finish line.\n- You're empathetic, patient and love to help your teammates grow.\n- You have experience running apps in production and take software engineering practices seriously. You write meaningful tests and understand the value of great logging, proper monitoring and error tracking.\n\n## A few projects you could be working on:\n- We collaborated closely with our BizOps and Design team to rebuild all parts of our billing experience, from the customerโ€™s first visit, to building a pricing simulator tool, to implementing algorithms that can handle complex billing scenarios at our scale.\n- Weโ€™re building an [open-source version](https://github.com/segmentio/evergreen) of our UI library that saves our engineers multiple hours of work every week. Think pixel-perfect implementations by default ๐Ÿ˜ฑ ๐ŸŽจ.\n- We used a [HLL](http://antirez.com/news/75) to scale an analytics tool that handles thousands of requests / sec.\n- We're building powerful tools that help our customers protect the integrity of their data, and the decisions they make with it.\n\n## Requirements:\n- You can write both client side and server side JavaScript using the latest APIs and language features.\n- You have some familiarity with Golang or are excited to learn it.\n- Minimum of 3 years of industry experience in engineering or some cool projects on GitHub you think we'll love to check out.\n- You provide a deep understanding of the complexities involved in writing large single-page applications.\n- You show evidence of exposure to architectural patterns of high-scale web application (e.g., well-designed APIs, high volume data pipelines, efficient algorithms.)\nWe are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. \n\nPlease mention the words **SWITCH TURTLE AUTO** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4xMDc=).
