Remote Lead Software Engineer
\nInstnt is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join our team of innovators and engineers. This role reports directly to the VP, Engineering and works closely with DevOps, Product Design, QA and Data Science. The Lead Software Engineer is instrumental in the building and maintenance of Instnt’s product focused on the Instnt’s API and backend services. \n\nDuties and Responsibilities:\n\n\n* Design, code, and troubleshoot new features, while debugging as necessary.\n\n* Write clean code to develop functional APIs and backend services.\n\n* Act as a mentor to fellow Engineers, review code, sharing knowledge and contributing to the team’s continued growth and improvement.\n\n* Working closely with other engineering teams, Data Scientists, Customer success teams and vendors to resolve engineering issues on a timely manner\n\n* Keep current with technology and developments within the financial technology space.\n\n\n\n\nTechnical Skills Required:\n\n\n* Agile SDLC\n\n* Python\n\n* Django\n\n* SQL\n\n* AWS serverless stack - API gateway, lambda, cloudwatch, Cloudformation\n\n* Deep understanding of Serverless architecture (AWS Lambda)\n\n* Container orchestration, docker, kubernetes, AWS ECS, EKS and Fargate\n\n* Clear grasp and implementation knowledge of software qualities like security, simplicity, maintainability, traceability, extensibility, scalability, availability\n\n* Authentication and authorization\n\n* Sound understand of CI/CD process, Python Django dependency management using Poetry\n\n* Good experience in logging and debugging production APIs/services using Python., log management, log analytics\n\n* Good experience in microservices and event driven architecture\n\n* Understanding and experience in api performance tuning, linting, profiling\n\n* Experience in TDD, writing unit tests and functional review of the QA test cases\n\n\n\n\nTechnical Skills Nice to Have: \n\n\n* Knowledge on blockchain, Self sovereign identity / decentralized Identity, Hyperledger Aries\n\n\n\n\nThe Ideal Candidate will possess:\n\n\n* Minimum of 6 year’s experience in a related position\n\n* Ability to create architecture/design specifications from requirement\n\n* Ability to define agile stories, breaking down the high-level product features\n\n* Proven work experience as a Backend Developer\n\n* Excellent analytical and time management skills\n\n* Experience working in a start-up organization is preferred but not required\n\n* Teamwork skills with a problem-solving attitude\n\n\n\n\nInstnt values our employees and wants you to be healthy and happy!
