At First Round, individuals in this role supercharge our investment team by creating and managing processes that deliver world-class services and experiences to entrepreneurs. As a chief of staff, youโll primarily work behind the scenes to support Toddโs work across sourcing, evaluating, and closing deals as well as supporting companies heโs invested in. The success of this role is defined by the increase in productivity and leverage Todd is able to achieve โ if this challenge excites you, read on to learn more! \n\n\n\nAs a Chief of Staff, you will:\n* Manage and track new investment opportunities from initial review through final decision.\n* Manage relationships and communication within the First Round community and partner networks.\n* Conduct investment research/diligence and write investment memos.\n* Track and facilitate support of portfolio companies, and engage other teams within First Round to provide support to founders and their companies.\n* Help Todd manage and process his email correspondence.\n* Manage partner projects, brand/marketing initiatives, and events.\n* Ensure Todd is fully prepared with background and context prior to meetings and follow up on next steps after meetings.\n* Execute special projects (building internal products, research deep dives, etc.)\n\n\n\nThis position is not:\n* An associate position nor a partner-track role. Instead, it is an ideal opportunity to get involved in building incredible companies and to learn about investing from the best.\n* Expected to source companies. Rather, you will work with Todd to help review, analyze, and prioritize existing deal flow and support our portfolio companies.\n\n\n\nThis is a unique opportunity in which individuals from many backgrounds could excel. Here are just a few examples of profiles we think could be great:\n* An aspiring entrepreneur who wants to learn the fundraising and company-building fundamentals firsthand.\n* A business generalist with a passion for technology and a penchant for learning new things fast.\n* A project manager or operations guru with startup experience who thrives on keeping the trains running on time with little oversight.\n\n\n\nWe believe the strength of our team comes from diverse backgrounds and experiences. You might be a good fit if the following describes you:\n* Youโre fascinated by technology and how todayโs entrepreneurs are shaping the future. You have the polish, presence, and high EQ to regularly interact with seasoned CEOs, founders, and other investors.\n* Youโre not afraid to dive into new topics and get up to speed quickly, especially in the areas of data and developer tools, AI/ML, and infrastructure. Highly technical subjects donโt scare or bore you.\n* You like working closely with others and are comfortable with a frequent cadence of communication. Youโre excited by a fast paced environment and embrace having to react and work quickly.\n* We hope to meet candidates with at least 4-6 years of working experience. Todd is based in Los Angeles, so youโll be expected to be online during west coast working hours. While this role is remote, youโll have the opportunity to travel to First Round offices and events multiple times each year. \n\n\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n

This benefit is currently suspended for overseas travel due to Covid, but we hope to reinstate it very soon!\n\nConference Reimbursement: Use some or all of your stipend to go towards conference tickets (subject to approval, must be related to your job) and the travel/lodging to get you there.\n\nCo-Working: You will have access to up to an additional ะะฒ.2,000 to pay for or subsidize a co-working space for yourself, such as renting a flexible hot desk or private office.\n\n\n\nOpen Source - We have incredible access to a wider community of coding experts who are as passionate about Open Source as we are + an internal โSauce Programโ that enables you to earn extra money for any extra OSS hours you put in.\n\nTraining & Development - Youโll receive unparalleled support from your peers + an all-you-can-eat professional development budget to ensure you can access all that you need to keep growing in your role and levelling up.\n\nCollaboration & Exposure - We work in a collaborative environment that leads to continuous, organic personal development. Youโll also have exposure to a wide variety of customers, from scaleups to Fortune 100s.\n\nGiving back - We also love to give back to our community - so if you give to charity and want to set this up through BrightFunds, we will match your contributions by up to $1000 in your local currency a year.\n\nFormidable Gatherings - Formidables work remotely all over the place, so we try to get together at least once a year in London or Seattle to have some fun in person. Covid still has some things up in the air right now, but weโre hopeful weโll be able to get together in person again soon!\n\n\n\n\nHow do we work?\n\nOur consultants act as an extension of our customerโs team, embedding themselves in the environment, and adapting to our clientsโ requirements and challenges, so they can develop a truly impactful and innovative solution.\n\nWe take a lot of pride in both the work we do and how we do it. We love trying new approaches, challenging the norm, and weโll never stop striving to be at our technical best. It comes naturally to both our team and the community we work within to help each otherโs growth, share and elevate ideas, and meaningfully collaborate as much as possible. Our people are more than the sum of their parts.\n\nThatโs why youโll get an unusual amount of autonomy โ youโre here because youโre brilliant, so we trust you to do your role in a way that works for you. Our high-trust culture is one of the things that makes us so successful, so you do you and weโll be over here, listening and providing support where needed.\nWe have two core beliefs here:\n\nThe very best ideas are born from a community that is collaborative, high-trust, and diverse. Creating a development-led culture is key to us, so we do everything we can to cultivate knowledge sharing and personal growth within our team. That means your questions never go unanswered, and there will always be someone on hand to work through a problem.\n\nPeople are at their best when they have what they need, and weโre committed to providing the best possible working environment. Vegan snacks? Slippers for the office? Want to work from another country to spend more time with your family? We got you.\n\n\n\nInclusion is one of our core values. We donโt discriminate by race, religion, national origin, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. We require our candidates that they have the right to work in Bulgaria. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n

๐ญWho are we looking for?
We're looking for an experienced front-end developer to join our small team of passionate people. You should feel comfortable working with modern technologies like TailwindCSS and Vue.js (or React / Angular while being ready to quickly learn ๐).
If you are curious, you can already check out our (mostly) full technology stack here.
We love trying new stuff and often introduce exciting shiny cutting-edge technologies! You should be eager to learn and improve, not only as a developer but also as a person.
If you are aspiring to expand your horizon and become a full-stack developer, we can definitely help you with that! Bonus points for already being good at DevOps (Linux, Docker, CircleCI, etc.).
Last but not least - you need to be a goodย communicator. We're a small team working remotely, so excellent communication is a key to success. We love hearing opinions and suggestions! In our company your opinion matters and you will have a significant impact on the direction of the project, both on the technology and business levels.
๐ Who are we?
Megaverse is an early-stage startup company, focused on creating software for the entertainment industry. We are 100% remote with people across many time zones. We are bootstrapped & profitable.
๐ง Your Mindset
Self-improvement: You want to grow your skills and grow as a person. You seek ways to do things more efficiently.
Problem-solving attitude: Problems are opportunities. You see problems as challenging and have the urge to solve them. There is no problem in the world you cannot solve!
Proactive attitude: It's not easy to work remotely. If you are having issues we expect you to be proactive about it and speak up.
Independent: Since we are 100% remote this means that you need to be able to reach your goals independently. It would be best if you were self-aware and self-managed.
Quality first: You value quality code! If you find yourself writing things twice you automatically refactor them. You find code reviews valuable (an opportunity to learn) instead of annoying.
Passion: Coding is your passion, not just a job. You love to write good code and get great satisfaction from it.
๐ ๏ธ What will I be working on?
We are building an online platform enabling industry workers (18+) to monetize their content in a different way - based on the 1-1 connection with members of their audience.
You will not be limited to this project, we will be building many different things! Be sure to check out our Launchpad vision.
๐Our Offer
Remote work: Time is valuable, why would you spend time commuting? We believe in choosing our own working hours. Flexibility is needed in a world that gets more complex day by day.
Company retreat: Be prepared to travel twice a year for a team-building get-together with the Megaverse Team. This is to put names on the faces of all your internet superhero colleagues! If you are curious about how that looks, check a short video from our trip to Malaga.
Supported tools to help you grow: We will ensure you get all the tools needed to grow and get things done.
Salary: Is competitive in the industry and can be adjusted to your skillset.
Time off: You get 35 paid days off / year (this includes public holidays)
