We're looking for a full-time Designer (who can code) to join our growing team at Proposales. This is a unique opportunity to apply your rare blend of superpowers, as a fast-growing tech company, we have no end of fascinating challenges that can only be solved by someone with innate UX sense, technical aptitude, and great taste. \n\nYou will tackle our most interesting and impactful challenges. Our team is small, and people wear many hats. You'd jump between product, marketing and internal tools, participating in every phase from concept development to implementation. \n\nJoining a company early is exciting, not only will you accelerate your learning as a maker, flex a versatile set of muscles, balancing vision, craft, and business potential, but also as one of our first employees, you will receive a competitive package, including stock option program, personal training budget, and much more. \n\n**A bit about the role:**\n* Craft every detail of new product features, from idea to UX to pixel-perfect execution.\n* To ensure we can move fast and avoid back-and-forth handoff with engineering you will polish each feature you design in code.\n* Partner closely with our Field Ops team to understand what users need, want, and love about Proposales. Use this data to plan and scope our product roadmap.\n* Create design systems that are simple to understand but help us to move faster as we scale. \n* Last but not the least, Proposales is a startup, so expect to move out of your comfort zone.\n\n**About you:**\n* You can create pixel-perfect visual designs. You can untangle hard conceptual problems and have sharp intuition for how people use (or wish they could use) products.\n* You can do production-level coding in HTML + CSS + JS/React/JSX. \n* You care about the business needs, implications, and possibilities of your designs.\n* You don't get stuck on pretty UI and can balance between craft, speed and the bottom line.\n* You have strong beliefs, loosely held. You're a good listener who likes to collaborate. \n\nPlease mention the words **INHERIT TROPHY PURSE** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4xODA=). \nUI/UX Web Developer (React Stack)\n\nWho is Astronomer?\nFounded in 2015, Astronomer helps organizations power their data intelligence initiatives by putting their data to work through our advanced data pipeline management software. Our Cincinnati-HQ’ed team comes from a diverse mix of multidisciplinary backgrounds including EY, Oracle, Facebook, the FBI and Dunnhumby, and is backed by notable venture investors including 500 Startups, Angelpad and CincyTech.\n \nAstronomer is an awesome place to work. Our team is made up of relatively young, engaged entrepreneurs who love to be creative, take on big challenges and push themselves. Fun is a core tenant of our culture, and somewhere between the large-scale nerf-gun battles and off-site 'orbits' to other cities, a whole lot of cool things are being built.\n \nOur platform, DataRouter, powers business intelligence dashboards, marketing tools, data enrichment/sharing, visualizations and machine learning, among others. It’s agile, dynamic and customizable, allowing you to extract, transform and load large volumes of data from any source to any destination, in real-time.\n \nRole Description\nWe are looking for a UI Developer to work on our clickstream product and help make our interface exceptional in its craft, simplicity, and functionality. You will work closely with a small team of designers and engineers. Version 2.0 of the product is due to beta launch in May 2017. We value ambitious development roadmaps and short sprint cycles and are looking for developers who are motivated by a fast-paced, startup culture. Our front-end stack is completely open-source: Docker, Mongo, Node, GraphQL, Apollo, React/Redux, Sass, and Foundation.\n \nWe are seeking devs with experience working closely with designers in crafting and implementing user interfaces. It is critical to have a strong competency with HTML/CSS inside a front-end framework (like React or Angular 2+), and strong experience with at least one CSS preprocessor or library, such as Sass, Foundation, Bootstrap, or Less. This role requires a developer with an interactive design mindset and someone interested in front-end animation and motion graphics. Experience with Javascript, React/JSX and Javascript Frontend/UI animation libraries is a huge bonus.\n \nWe are building a beautiful, next generation user interface. If you're interested in discovering what that is and helping us discover it too, you may be a great fit on this team.\n\nCore Responsibilities\n\n\n* Work closely with designers to implement UI code at an advanced level\n\n* A desire to understand and empathize with customer needs\n\n* A curious, creative drive to push Astronomer's UI to its greatest potential\n\n* A love of modern, interactive design standards and a desire to pursue new animation libraries and frameworks\n\n* A focus on architecture improvements, built on design patterns\n\n\n\n\n \nRequirements\n\n\n* 2-3 years' professional web development experience or equivalent competency\n\n* Strong competency with Git, Javascript, HTML, and CSS Libraries inside of a JS front-end framework\n\n* Start-up attitude and a willingness to learn, grow, and steward the future of the product\n\n* Willingness to participate and engage in DevOps style engineering culture\n\n* Experience/interest in maintaining an open-source project with public contributions\n\n\n\n\n \nNotes:\n\n\n* We are hiring for our Cincinnati OH, Louisville KY, and Denver CO locations. Applicants must live near, and be able to regularly commute to, these locations.\n\n* This is a direct hire position. Please do not apply on behalf of short-term or contract hires.\n\n\n\n\nAre you up for the challenge? \nApply via the online application form and leave your cv and motivation with us. \n\nIf you want more information about our company visit www.astronomer.io.\n\nAcquisition regarding this vacancy is not appreciated. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
