This position plays a fundamental role in designing and maintaining big data web & engineering solutions capable of running efficiently and robustly at petabyte scale. \n\nWhat You’ll Do:\n\n\n* Develop forward looking solutions that can creatively utilize data assets while being fault tolerant\n\n* Leveraging best practices in extensible and reusable components to allow rapid development\n\n* Collaborate with DevOps, Release Management, Research and Operations teams\n\n* Coordinate with external stakeholders to deliver on product requirements\n\n\n\n\nWhat You'll Need:\n\n\n* We are looking for an individual who can take the lead in projects providing accurate estimates and collaborating with teammates and stakeholders as necessary to solve problems\n\n* Ability to understand & improve enterprise software applications while factoring in overall design goals\n\n* Knack for finding the problem at a high level and drilling down to the details to solve\n\n* Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field\n\n* 2+ years of experience in developing applications in professional environment\n\n* 2+ years developing software using Java in Linux environment, Hadoop, Pig or Spark expertise. \nAbout the Job\n\nThe Software Engineer is assigned to the Security Best Practices Division at the Center for Internet Security. Reporting to the Development Team Leader – CIS-CAT, the Software Engineer will partner with other cybersecurity team members to promote the CIS mission and help support our growth.
