\nWork Location\n\nHome Office or any SUSE Location near the CET Timezone\n\n\nOur Product \n\nAt this position you will work on the Open Build Service (OBS). A Linux release engineering platform to collaborate on building and distributing software. The OBS helps SUSE to ship software to its customers. For a wide range of operating systems and hardware architectures.\n\n\nOur Team \n\nWe are a team of Web Developers spread all over Europe. Most of us work from home, a few of us you find in the SUSE headquarter in Nuremberg/Germany. All of us focus on the full stack that makes up our application. From UI/UX design using HTML/CSS/Javascript, over Creating Business Logic with Ruby on Rails to Data Modeling on our SQL database. We also practice the DevOps culture and Operate & Observe our code in production environments. This means each and every one of us takes care of the complete life cycle of the code we produce. We conceive, write, test, instrument, deploy, roll back and debug our code! We also believe in the agile principles and organize our work together in the SCRUM framework. https://openbuildservice.org/bs-team\n\nThis position will report to the Engineering Manager of the team, Hendrik Vogelsang.\n\n\nOur Values \n\nHere is what we identify as our team culture and how those attitudes translate into our daily practices. We are looking for people whose personal values have some overlap with ours. We value: Customers. By understanding peoples’ goals, needs and their limitations. Everything we build and change, everything we do, we do for the people using our product. Diversity, pluralism and freedom of choice. We think differences, not uniformity, in origin, circumstance and experience make people, the practice of software development and in the end, our product interesting. We believe it takes a diverse set of people to produce a product truly useful for everyone. Ownership. Instead of hiding behind processes, or driving relentlessly towards individual goals, we take ownership of the entire situation. We do that when things go smooth but also when things go wrong. No matter if they were in, or out of our control. No matter if that hurts and bruises our ego. It was never anyone else’s fault, it was ours. We believe ownership is how we respect others. Collaboration. By working toward shared goals, in a horizontal structure with flexible leadership. We do not only share results with each other, but how we got there. We constantly reflect our behavior and how it brings everyone else forward with us. We win together, we lose together. Quality. By taking due time, avoiding shortcuts, pacing ourselves. By being critical of what we do and by welcoming critique from others. We always leave our code base, processes and team better than we have found it. Community. By curiously exploring what other people inside and outside this industry think, do and produce. We expose ourselves to all kinds of ideas and openly share our own views. We strive for personal growth by continuously learning about other people, technology, development methodologies and efforts. We are open minded, always evolving adventurers\n\n\nPerks \n\nApart from the usual benefits of working for an established software engineering enterprise (competitive pay, rewards, established career ladder etc.) we can make the following happening for you. We are all about a healthy work life balance. You join a company that’s still growing fast and yet is over a quarter century old. We didn’t get here by burning out people. At SUSE we believe that without time off from work, a person becomes both bored and boring. That is why we provide flexible working hours, a flexible vacation policy and access to professional life & career coaching. We’ll give our best to help you maximize your well-being, because we are in it for the long run. We are all about creating opportunities for personal growth. You will have a personal budget for autonomous learning (O’Reilly/Linkedin Learning etc.) and for visiting industry events. The team spends every other Friday afternoon together sharing what they got inspired by. We frequently practice pair programming and kick off projects in mob programming. Every week you will have the opportunity to attend exciting lunch & learn sessions by SUSE industry experts. We also run company wide hackathons (Hack Week) multiple times a year where you are free to work on any activity of your passion for a week! We want you to become a better engineer. We are all about hacker culture following the community best practices. Most things you do for SUSE will be open source. We expect you to contribute back upstream. We encourage you to openly share your own views with the global Free Software community. That means you can spend the majority of your work time on your public track record. Your public code and collaboration will be your next resume!\n\n\nYour Responsibilities \n\nWe are looking for someone with strong Ruby on Rails experience. You should also be well-versed in HTML, CSS, JavaScript. Experience with site reliability is a plus but not a requirement. We require a strong proficiency in English (spoken and written) and the ability to convey what you want to other people. You might have a computer science degree, you might not have any formal education like that. That is not what we are looking for. You might have spend 20 years in our industry or 2. That is not what matters to us. We care about what you can do and how you do it, not about how you got here.\n\nHere is what the team does day in day out:\n\n\nPublic Open Source Software Development \n\nAs the Open Build Service is a Free Software project, you ideally have a background in this development method.\n\n• Implementing features/bug fixes for the product • Improve quality and lower technical debt of the product\n\n• Review and evaluate code/issue submissions from other developers and customers\n\n• Cooperate with the team and other stakeholders to align plans in an agile fashion\n\n• Document features, workflows and concepts\n\n\nSite Reliability Engineering\n\nAs we are practicing the DevOPS culture, you ideally know how to do\n\n• Continuous integration of the product with other software in the stack\n\n• Continuous deployment\n\n• Monitoring the health and performance of deployments\n\n• Incident management\n\n• Infrastructure management \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Full Stack, Web Developer, Developer, Digital Nomad, DevOps, English, Education, Ruby and Linux jobs that are similar:\n\n $70,000 — $120,000/year\n

\nArt+Logic is looking for Full Stack Web Developers to work with us on interesting custom software projects. We’ve been around since 1991, and we’re still going strong. \n\nOur ideal developers thrive in the environment of variety and challenge that is inherent to custom software development, working with us in a long-term relationship over many projects for numerous clients.\n\nSince we do custom software development, the skills and needs for each project can vary widely. This goes beyond just the languages we use, to the industries and problem domains we work in. We look for generalists; most importantly those who are excited to learn and take on new challenges. You can expect to grow both in your strength and your versatility when working here. We want to help you do so.\n\nWe work remotely all over the United States and Canada. We expect you to be able to work well on your own and comfortably with teams. You won’t have someone looking over your shoulder so you'll need to be communicative and reliable, and hold yourself accountable. We depend on each other.\n\nArt+Logic is run by humans, who work and create using technology. Things can go wrong and we need to respond to the unexpected by being kind, considerate, fair, flexible, and calm. We treat our clients and peers as respectfully as we would like to be treated.\n\nHere’s an example of some projects we’ve worked on recently, so you can better understand the wide range of projects and challenges we undertake:\n\n\n* Implementing a Django-based DoD CAC card login\n\n* Writing a data model layer using SQLAlchemy to provide an object-oriented view of a legacy relational database schema. This model layer provides all business rules and data integrity using advanced python3 features. This data model in turn serves a REST API (python-pyramid) consumed by an advanced single-page web application written with Marionette (Backbone)\n\n* Created Windows tablet application to communicate with client's modbus hardware and upload data to Python/Django/Vue webapp for analysis and display\n\n\n\n\nWhat we want from you: (aka: skills)\n\nWe currently have a high demand for Python, specifically Django, and JavaScript web framework experience. \n\nHowever, more important than that, we are looking for people who are curious and looking for opportunities to learn. People who like learning and creating on their own. Those who are able to drive themselves or even lead others when completing projects. Developers who are able to organize and express their ideas. Communication is paramount here.\n\nRelationship Details:\n\nWe are looking for Contractors (1099) for long term open-ended relationships. Work hours are flexible; requiring reasonable overlap with normal working hours to support team communications, and not just nights and weekends. Our rates range from $35-$55/hour. We are ONLY looking for people in the United States and Canada.\n\nWe want you to enjoy working for us, and to be able to have a life outside of work. Since you're not commuting you can embrace the freedom of working from where you enjoy living, and use the saved time for your personal life and relationships. \nWhats the Big Opportunity?\nThis is your opportunity to join our team of 50+ to help us build a state-of-the-art B2C e-commerce platform & brand from the comfort of your own home for a rapidly scaling, profitable, 8-figure company.\nWere fully hitting our stride in the exploding $250+ billion health and wellness field. And this is your chance to help make a meaningful impact on the lives of people who struggle with their health by accelerating our ability to penetrate this market with our robust product offerings (see more below).\nTo that end, our goal is to build the first billion-dollar brand thats 100% remote and need your help.\nTo summarize the key points:\n * Salary: $110,000 - $140,000\n * Location: 100% Remote\n * Benefits: Full Insurance (health, dental & long-term disability) + Robust 401k\n * Hours: 8:30 a.m. 5:00 (and very flexible)\n * Culture: High-Performance but Humble (no jerks)\n \n\nWho are We Looking For?\nA full-time, senior, full-stack, brilliant, business-savvy web architect / web developer with heavy big data experience in the direct-to-consumer e-commerce space. Its a full-time, 100% remote position with a flexible work/vacation schedule as lifestyle is hugely important to our company.\nA curious mind, desire for autonomy while excelling in an open, truly collaborative culture of high performers makes would make you a perfect fit. These arent talking points. This is what we do, now.\nWere on pace to double this year and repeat that next year. To that end, we need more help tackling some very big engineering projects so we can handle our next leg of growth. Were laser-focused on recruiting someone with a business mindset who loves to solve big business problems by developing beautiful, efficient code and who enjoys having immediate, visible influence on the companys results.\nThe ideal person is extremely results-driven and gets tremendous satisfaction from having their work see the light of day quickly and being motivated by seeing the impact it has. We want someone of who obsesses about and loves to code but also someone who loves to solve big business problems.\nProjects include everything from handling the massive system and data load that spending $1,000,000+ monthly on paid advertising brings, to building automated workflow tools to streamline internal operations, to developing sophisticated if/then logic in our billing code to handle the creative pricing and offers we use in our customer acquisition funnels.\nFor example, we built our own all-in-one e-commerce system in 2012 as nothing handled the complex billing and funnel logic we needed to support our sophisticated B2C marketing strategies. However, now were moving over to the Shopify platform and strategically integrating our existing platform. That requires a complex analysis on which system does which part the best and building a smart integration.\nAs another example, we build our own custom dashboards to precisely track our advertising efforts. To that end, we integrate with Google and Facebooks APIs to ingest all the data they provide. As a result, we end up with millions of rows of data a month that needs to be efficiently organized so we can use our BI tool to extract key business insights effectively.\nThe ideal person is extremely self-motivated, loves to grind out work consistently and is comfortable being hands-on in all facets of web engineering from the browser-to-the-code-to-the-server. Experience with marketing funnels, e-commerce systems, split testing, sales analytics, conversion rate optimization is essential.\nWe empower our developers with a lot of autonomy and responsibility for some very meaty projects that have very large $ impacts. To that end, this opportunity is suited only for a high-performing full-stack developer with an integrative mindset and proven ability to get things done cleanly and on time. \nYou will work hand-in-hand with our CTO to optimize, support and manage our entire web infrastructure. You and our two other senior devs form our core development team of 4, covering for each other as vacation and other needs arise, while working synergistically on separate projects.\nJust as we obsess about creating metabolism-optimizing products that get the most results in the least time, were looking for someone equally obsessed about doing the same thing with efficient code.\nWhile your coding skills are important, it's how fast you process information, how quickly (and accurately) you can cycle through work and how well you work with the rest of our team that's crucial. To that end, communication is key to this role, as is the ability to self-motivate and quickly turn a business conversation into an actionable set of dev tasks that you can jump on immediately.\nWho is This Opportunity Perfect for?\nAnybody who truly is a top coder and creative architect who might relate to any of these:\nIf youre tired of the commute, sick of burning the midnight oil, stress is dominating your life, and the cost of real estate is eating up your retirement, this is your opportunity to take back control, live life under your own terms and design a lifestyle that brings you joy, happiness and satisfaction.\nOr, if youve always wanted to be a part of the thrill of a rapidly growing company, but didnt want to move to an expensive big city with all the madness, stress and high cost that brings, this is your opportunity to stay where you are (or move to where you always wanted to go) to design your ideal life.\nOr, if youre drowning in the corporate world, suffocating from constantly shifting priorities that nobody agrees on, incessant scope creep, micromanaging bosses, endless meetings, constant interruptions and no respect for the quiet time you need to actually get work done, this is your opportunity to simplify and go deep to pour your heart and soul into ONE big opportunity and scale it like never before. \nRegardless of your situation, whether you prefer to work in the quiet of your own home, sipping a delicious cup of coffee at your favorite coffee shop, or outside enjoying the sunshine on a bright, beautiful day AND you are a humble, high-performing individual who would THRIVE in this type of environment, then please read on, as we cant wait to meet you.\n\nBenefits\n\nWhat You'll Enjoy from Us: \n * Competitive Compensation This respects the fact that you are a needle in a haystack, a true high-performer who any company would die for to have on their team.\n * Flexible Benefits While we offer an excellent benefits package, we can customize it to your specific situation, rather than forcing you to accept something that may not make sense for you.\n * 100% Remote A fantastic remote lifestyle with flexible hours when needed with ability to carve out time to do what you love.\n * Curated Team Peace of mind knowing we only recruit high-performing, humble people and that youll be surrounded by a supportive, high-energy team that respects you and your work.\n \n If this sounds like a good fit, if youre excited to do something challenging and meaningful that preserves your ability to enjoy life to the fullest, then please apply ASAP as we cant wait to meet you! \n\n#Salary and compensation\n No salary data published by company so we estimated salary based on similar jobs related to Senior, Full Stack, Web Developer, Architecture, Developer, Digital Nomad, Marketing, Sales and Shopify jobs that are similar:\n\n $60,000 — $120,000/year\n

We believe ownership is respect.\n\nWe value collaboration. By working together toward goals, in a horizontal structure with flexible leadership. We do not only share results with each\nother, but how we get there. We constantly reflect our thoughts, communication and behavior and how they bring everyone else forward. We win together, we lose together.\n\nWe value community. By curiously exploring what other people inside and outside this industry think, do and produce. We expose ourselves to all kinds of ideas and openly share our own views with others.\n\nWe value diversity, pluralism and freedom of choice. We think differences, not uniformity, in origin, circumstance and experience make people, the practice of\nsoftware development and in the end, our product interesting. We believe it takes a diverse set of people to produce a product truly useful for everyone.\n\nWe value personal growth. By continuously learning about other people, technology, development methodologies and efforts. We are open minded, always\nevolving adventurers.\n\nYour Responsibilities\n\nYour responsibilities will be manifold. \nRateIt is looking for a full-stack web developer to join our growing team.\n\nWe've created an easy and delightful way to gather customer feedback to help retailers, healthcare providers, and government groups improve their execution and find new growth opportunities. We do this by collecting customer ratings from our beautiful tablet app, web app or physical tokens. On the back-end, our customers access insights through an online portal, giving them a clear view of their results.\n\nOnly having launched in 2016, we've already partnered with some pretty serious brands: Bose, Adidas, BMW, KFC, Fitness First, Harvey Norman, 7/11, just to name a few.\n\nThe why \nWe've got a product which both our public users and B2B customers love to use. We're solving a real problem and have implemented a business model which is working – so we're set up for some exciting long-term growth and are on track for a successful Series A.\n\nOur team is set up to function remote-first with staff throughout Australia, a handful of people international and an office now forming in Melbourne.\n\nThe what \nAs a full-stack web developer, you will join a product team team of six (and growing) including two experienced full stack devs, one senior front end/UXer, a senior mobile dev, supported by our product director and the CTO.
