Role Summary/Purpose :\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for partnering with the GE Aviation Cybersecurity organisation to develop and support tools that improve enterprise security and reduce technology risk. They will work with stakeholders to understand business and regional security needs, and will partner with software engineers in other locations to meet the needs of the business using Agile methodology.\n\n\n\nEssential Responsibilities :\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n* Be responsible for providing technical leadership and defining, developing, and evolving software in a fast paced and agile development environment using the latest software development technologies and infrastructure\n\n* Provide technical leadership to an agile team of 5-7, and guidance to other teams and Graduate placements\n\n* Collaborate with the existing team of software engineers using Agile methodologies (daily standups, sprint planning, user stories, etc.)\n\n* Partner with diverse stakeholders to understand security threats, technology risk, and business needs\n\n* Work with security and technology risk leaders to understand product requirements & vision\n\n* Gather requirements for product enhancements and potential new products\n\n* Translate requirements / vision into prioritized list of user stories and deliver to required timelines and quality standards\no Work with product owner(s) and architects to develop multi generation software technology plans\n\n* Drive increased efficiency across the teams, eliminating duplication, leveraging product and technology reuse\n\n* Support process improvements which guide the development, sustaining & support activities\n\n* Coach, mentor and lead junior team members, graduates, and interns\n\n* Work cross functionally with other business departments to align activities and deliverables\n\n* Drive world-class quality in the development and support of products\n\n* Communicate effectively both within immediate team and also across diverse stakeholders and business leadership\n\n* Ensure team receives consistent messages and has clear understanding of business direction, strategy and results\n\n* Engage subject matter experts in successful transfer of complex domain knowledge\n\n* Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques\n\n* Write code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project\n\n* Develop and deploy high-quality software using the best practices and methodologies of the team\n\n* Assist in designing architecture and building out infrastructure as required for the software products\n\n* Understand performance parameters and assess application performance\n\n* Work on core data structures and algorithms and implement them using technology chosen\n\n* Address operational issues in a timely manner with DevOps support\n\n* Proactively share information across the team, to the right audience with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness\n\n\n\n\nQualifications: \n\n\n* Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)\n\n* Demonstrable professional experience in software development OR Master’s degree with relevant experience in software development\n\n* GE Leadership Program Graduates will get credit towards relevant work experience, commensurate to the program they have completed\n\n* Must currently hold SC clearance or meet the criteria required to hold SC clearance\no Must be willing to work out of an office located in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
