Now, about the actual job: Lightup was established in 1998 in Frankfurt, Germany as a Hosting & Domain Provider and today is still a small but international Internet Full-Service & Telephony Service Provider, focusing heavily on web-based telecommunication services (VoIP) since 2011. We're need more developers to create more cool web telecom-related projects and apps. 100% of our team works from remote.

To compensate for the monthly kind of low payment of just 1500 EUR, which may be too low for some parts of the world, we're offering you a quite unique profit sharing model: For every web project that you turn into reality, you'll receive 20% of the profit that this project generates for as long as you stay with Lightup. That way, you'll be also extra motivated to extend the service you just created and keep it running and improve it over time while it's growing, generating you even more profit every month. We'll create the ideas, and you'll put these projects into reality. Your profile:

• You are awesome at working independently and self-sufficient, you are great at researching using Google and AI tools extensively to find the infos you need & to learn.
• You could, in theory, build functional websites from scratch without relying on AI or programming tools.
• You can write code from scratch using your brain, without AI, and just by using a text editor (if need be).
• Coding means actually writing manual code for you, not copy'ing & paste'ing code snippets that you found on the web. To you, coding also doesn't mean dragging objects from A to B in some visual "programming" tool.
  

In other words, you're a real programmer!

Your skills:

• Perfect English & typing proficiency. No typos, no grammar mistakes.
• You can create Android apps from scratch, from start to finish, by yourself.
• You can handle the Linux shell and you can navigate through a Linux-based filesystem using just command line tools.
• You're a master of the programming language(s) of your choice that allow you to create web-projects (PHP, Python, whatever).
• You are very good at SQL, you understand the inner workings of e.g. MySQL and thus you know what makes queries slow and what makes them fast.
  
• All of this requires that you already have plenty of experience, if you are new to all of this or if you think AI will be able to handle these requirements for you, then you are not the right candidate.
• You have used vi or vim before.

What the job will look like in practice:

• We're defining the inner workings and features of the to-be-created web-based service, or app, together.
• You'll start at 0 and build these services & apps from the ground up, independently, by yourself.
• We'll communicate permanently via Slack.

About Heliax

Heliax is a public goods lab which researches, develops, deploys, and maintains open-source protocols and mechanisms designed to serve the everyday needs of humanity. Using these protocols and mechanisms, we build vertically integrated products and networks that form coherent open systems which are capable of acting as an alternative to existing exploitative paradigms.

Two of the most notable vertically integrated protocols are Anoma and Namada. 

Anoma is an intent-centric, privacy-preserving protocol for decentralized counterparty discovery, distributed solving,and atomic multi-chain settlement – a radically novel architecture for decentralized protocols marking the beginning of the third generation of architectures ever since programmable settlement.

Namada is Anoma’s first fractal instance. It is proof-of-stake Layer 1 protocol for asset-agnostic, interchain privacy. The key innovations include ZCash-like shielded transfers for any assets (fungible and non-fungible), incentivised privacy sets, and interoperability with Ethereum via a custom bridge and IBC.

Role Overview

As a creative senior front end engineer you must be super passionate about crafting high-end front-end websites and applications. Along with being a kickass dev you should have a great design eye and a willingness to have design input into what you build. We are adopting an experimental approach and looking to push conventional UX/UI along with using motion design to delight users in the Web3 space.

Within the Design UX/UI & Growth team, you’ll be working in a small agile team of multidisciplinary designers, creatives, and writers all passionate about creating ideas, leading design, and content that engages users and communities on multiple levels.

Responsibilities

• Architecture & building front-ends from scratch from design prototypes, wireframes and specifications.

• Work very closely with the designer(s) on clarifying and providing bi-directional feedback on the designed wireframes, prototypes, and graphic assets both static and moving.

• Create scalable processes regarding development, deployment and user testing.

• Work closely with the Design UX/UI & Growth team, a team composed by designers, developers, and content writers on building, improving, and maintaining the existing and upcoming organization and project websites.

• Developer-friendly documentation writing for both internal use and external use, as the projects and its libraries are/will be open-source.

Qualifications

• You LOVE front-ends and have a passion for delivering delectable user experiences to a world-wide user base.

• You have experience delivering interactive web experiences, containing interactive illustrations, animations, parallax effects, … 🌈

• You have experience working with designers and know design related workflows

• Feel very comfortable with modern css and html. 

• Know the best practices and when to use what.

• Built and contributed projects in the web ecosystem for +5 years that have been deployed to an active user base, have mastered JavaScript/TypeScript and used frameworks such as Vue/React, Gatsby JS (please submit examples of your past work, e.g. commits to Git repositories, URLs to websites that are active).

• Have experience establishing processes (version control, designer assets, deployment, …) and being able to reuse components and modules.

• You’re an avid follower of the latest trends in the web development ecosystem and you’re excited about learning new technologies and contributing to them.

• Ability to build applications that are performant and provide great user experiences across browsers (e.g. Chrome, Firefox, Safari) and different sizes (Desktop, Tablet, Mobile).

• Self-organized and autonomous, expect minimal management in a flexible and remote work environment.

• Verbal and written fluency in English.

• You feel aligned with Anoma and Namada’s vision and goals in bringing financial privacy and self-sovereignty to everyone in the world.

Bonus Qualifications

• Have designed and or implemented WEBGL projects and or web projects using live data to effect visuals.

• Organized and/or participated in developer meetups or conferences and enjoys being involved with open-source communities.
