Soda is looking for a proven VP of Engineering to strengthen our leadership team. You will work alongside our leadership team and report directly to the CPO, working closely the product team to accelerate the delivery of the upcoming product features across Data Observability and Data Testing.
Your primary responsibility will be leading the engineering team and ensuring high velocity and alignment between architectural decisions and the product roadmap, ultimately creating operational excellence in engineering. You will frequently jump in with the team to resolve critical engineering challenges and spend at least 50% of your time with hands-on implementation. You'll help build a great freaking product.
Responsibilities:
Ensure fast delivery of product features by structuring engineering work, best practices, and processes.
Oversee architectural decisions to enable fast and reliable delivery in the coming years.
Resolve critical engineering problems hands-on and establish technical credibility by leading by example.
Make hiring decisions, define recruitment needs, and manage all the engineers.

Expertise and experience in building robust, scalable B2B products with related requirements.
Appreciation for UX and UI, focusing on developing products that delight the user and are intuitive.
Experience putting ML systems in production.
Computer science or Engineering degree or other relevant educational background

Our Engineering team is building a scalable, edge-based AI product already deployed in many locations around the world. Weโre looking for seasoned Backend Engineers to lead the charge on scalable, beautiful architecture and services. Some of the tools we use right now include Python, Docker, Kubernetes, Rust, and more. We are a distributed team, and open to hiring the right person anywhere in the world.
ย What youโll be doing:
Build and maintain backend services in Python (or the right language of your suggestion)
Build backend apps handling petabytes of video data
Lead architectural decisions around our overall services-oriented architecture
Define new services, their boundaries, and cross-service components (such as shared memory stores, message brokers i.e. RabbitMQ, etc.)
Improve tooling, testing, automation to ensure production-quality backend deployments
You may be a good fit if you:
Have 5+ years of experience writing and maintaining backend services
Experience with AWS and its tools
Worked in some of the following languages: Python, Golang, C/C++, Rust, Elixir, etc.
Work cross-functionally and interface with customers or vendors
Are comfortable with Linux / Unix environments
Led teams of other engineers before as a manager or team lead

As a Data Delivery Engineer, you will be responsible for executing solutions that meet client needs. You will be the primary technical contact at client sites and will be responsible to complete technical proof of concepts, building and maintaining mission critical data pipelines, and sizing future development projects.
Responsibilities
Present audience-appropriate explanations of data engineering practices to technical teams
Work hands-on to create proofs-of-concept to demonstrate ideas and concepts that may be foreign to customers or prospects
Build environments for storing raw data, utilizing Azure Data Lake Storage, SQL server, Blob Storage and other technologies
Implement data warehouses and analysis services as part of a modern dataย warehouse (MDW) design
Utilize tools such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, and Azure Stream Analytics to perform data orchestration and transformation
Live and breathe the corporate values fueling our success and make us who we are
Qualifications
Expert experience with SQL, including ability to understand, edit, or maintain existing stored procedures
Experience building and maintaining pipelines in ADF.ย This is a hard requirement.
Experience building/maintaining environments for storing raw data including Azure Data Lake, SQL server, Blob Storage and other technologies
Experience with other Microsoft Azure services, including
Azure Data Lake Storage
CosmosDB
Azure Databricks
Experience with other NoSQL storage, document databases, and graph databases is a plus
Experience with Spark SQL or Hive SQL is a plus
Experience working with customers to elicit business requirements and demonstrate technical concepts in an understandable fashion
Willingness to learn in a high-paced environment
Ability to embrace feedback and hold yourself accountable
This role can be performed remotely from anywhere in the US
