Brainscape, a *profitable* fast-growing education startup with over 4 million registered users, is seeking a contract front-end developer to bring our new brand designs to life through Javascript, CSS, HTML5, and a bit of Rails views.\n\nThese web pages have already been fully designed and vetted during a long and careful rebranding process. You will work with our VP of UI/UX, our CPO, and our lead Graphic Designer to ensure that your coded pages maintain fidelity to these designs.\n\nThis position is a remote contract position for an individual only (no agencies). There may also be opportunities for you to extend this into a longer-term employee relationship with Brainscape depending on your skill-sets and the quality of your work & commitment.\n\n# Responsibilities\n
* Develop public-facing web pages based on new designs\n* Implement javascript and CSS animations to enhance pages' interactivity\n* Perform technical development of JS and CSS for CMS-delivered web pages\n* Make small design, interaction, and responsiveness recommendations as needed\n* Optimize pages for maximum speed, scalability, and SEO benefits \n\n# Requirements\n* 3+ years experience with HTML5, CSS3, and Javascript\n* 1+ years experience working with Rails views\n* Strong understanding of CSS and CSS Animations\n* Strong understanding of mobile responsiveness\n* Strong understanding of browser rendering behavior and performance\n* Familiarity with CMS platforms such as Wordpress, HubSpot, or Ghost\n* Strong written and verbal communication skills\n* BONUS -- Any React, React Native, or back-end Ruby on Rails experience \n\nPlease mention the words **SHIVER NATURE VELVET** when applying to show you read the job post completely (#RMjE2LjczLjIxNi4xNDY=).
