Are you a talented web developer who loves WordPress? And do you get excited about building new features that will be used by millions of pet lovers every month? Then this could very well be the opportunity for you!

Weโ€™re Pangoliaโ€”one of the fastest-growing pet companies, and weโ€™re on a mission to create the biggest, most helpful pet company in the world. Our biggest sites: PetKeen.com, Hepper.com, and ExcitedCats.com, are visited by millions of pet lovers every month, and weโ€™re undergoing rapid growth.

Our sites are all built on WordPress, and our own cat furniture e-commerce brand: Hepper is running on WooCommerce. In this position you will be working alongside our Lead Developer on building new features and tools that help pet lovers all over the world.

Weโ€™re a 100% remote company so youโ€™d have the freedom to work from anywhere. It's a full-time position (40 hours a week), yet you get to plan your own schedule and work whenever you want. You will become an integral member of our team at Pangolia consisting of a diverse group of 95 talented individuals from all over the world, joining us on our united goal of improving the lives of pets and those who care for them.

This is a great opportunity if youโ€™re an amazing developer looking to rapidly grow your skills whilst working alongside peers who are at the top of their field.

You Will Be Responsible For:

โ—ย ย ย ย ย ย  Developing new tools and software that help millions of pet lovers every month (could for example be to develop a Puppy Weight Chart Tool / Calculator that helps pet owners predict how fast, and how big their dog will grow)

โ—ย ย ย ย ย ย  Developing, testing, and maintaining new features and solutions for our WordPress sites for desktop and mobile browsers that are optimized for high traffic

โ—ย ย ย ย ย ย  Optimize our websites for mobile users

โ—ย ย ย ย ย ย  Create, review, and update technical documentation

โ—ย ย ย ย ย ย  Contributing to our development processes, QA procedures, and technical planning

โ—ย ย ย ย ย ย  Communicating and supporting our content and marketing departments with dev/IT requests, troubleshooting, fixing bugs

โ—ย ย ย ย ย ย  Performing scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance and security updates on our WordPress sites

โ—ย ย ย ย ย ย  Securing and protecting our WordPress sites from hackers and malware, as well as eliminating risks

We believe _(based on public salary data)_, that we pay better than 90% of comparable writing gigs. Writers get paid every other week in US dollars _(by PayPal or wire transfer)_. We are looking for writers available of a minimum of one day/week, due to the overhead of managing a big team. We have freelance writers producing as much as 10,000 words per week. There are no set hours, and you can work when you choose on any time zone and in any location - provided you meet deadlines. Ideally, you'll have previous experience working remotely (although it's no dealbreaker, if not). All we ask is that you approach the job with an open mind about ways of working. Over the last decade working remotely, we've developed unique processes, systems and ways of working that help us get things done _(both on time and of the quality we expect of ourselves)_. When we commission projects, we'll provided a writing brief, plus due dates and required minimum length. There is sometimes some discussion via Asana. You write the article and deliver it in the requested format, we edit it and publish, and shortly afterwards you get paid.
