Remote Data Scientist Marketplace and Merchandising
About the role\n\nWe are looking for a Sr. Data Scientist to work with our Content, Merchandising, and Product teams to optimize the content in our Sounds & Gear marketplaces. In this role, you will define metrics that track engagement and user-centric outcomes in our marketplaces. You will help us understand what content is most valuable to drive engagement. Working in close partnership with Product, Design, and User Research, you will use analytics to discover patterns of user behavior and leverage these discoveries to build more relevant and impactful experiences for our users.\n\nAll of this means balancing ad hoc data exploration and longer-running analytical projects; designing and conducting experiments; bridging the gap between Product Managers and Data Engineers to assure that the necessary data is accessible and easy to use; aiding in the design of Product roadmaps to support our marketplaces; and building models that drive in-product experiencesโe.g., personalized merchandising.\nWhat we're looking for:\n\nData manipulation\n\nWe expect our Data Scientists to have strong analytical SQL skills. This means fluidity constructing statements that rely on a combination of joins, aggregate functions, subqueries, and window functions. This role will work with large-scale data, so this person must have experience writing efficient, performance-optimized queries.\n\nAnalysis\n\nNearly every problem starts with models that can be interpreted to drive human action. Weโre seeking an individual who enjoys experimentation and statistical analysisโsomeone who can translate what they see in the data into useful suggestions. A thorough understanding of statistical inference is required.\n\nModeling\n\nYou should have hands-on experience building machine learning models (supervised and unsupervised) and know how to incorporate your models into production workflows and product experiences. \nTooling expectations:\n\n\nRegular usage of a programming language typically used for statistical analysis and machine learning (ideally Python). Familiarity with a statically typed language (ideally Java or Scala) is desirable.\n\nStrong experience with analytical SQL (ideally BigQuery, Snowflake, AWS Athena, or similar).\n\nExposure to large-scale model training in a platform like Spark is desired.\n\nHands-on experience with self-service product-analytics tools (e.g., Looker, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Heap).\n\nTraining in statistics, econometrics, or machine learning, with plenty of real-world experience applying these methodologies.\n\nExposure to a variety of data sets used by Product teams. Chiefly, large-scale event data (e.g., Mixpanel, Segment, Snowplow, server logs) and normalized transactional databases (e.g., e-commerce and subscription datasets).\n\n\n\nAdditional:\n\nThere are no specific degree requirements for this role: we appreciate and seek out diverse backgrounds. Responsibilities
Take ownership of reported customer issues and see problems through to resolution, perform root cause analysis, and work to prevent issues from reoccurring in the future
Help triage, debug and pull engineers when necessary, to mitigate incidents and solve implementation challenges
Research, diagnose, troubleshoot, and debug customer issues encountered by our customers during POCs / pilots and implementations / integrations, as well as during production phase.
Help do training for POCs and implementations assisting Delivery / Project Managers in the onboarding process.
Develop and contribute to internal and external knowledge bases
Be a champion for Incodeโs customers and hold our teams to a high standard of customer service
Requirements
BS degree in Computer Science or in related field
Minimum 5-yearsโ experience in similar roles, ideally in an enterprise SaaS environment
Experience in integration and implementation of web-based platforms and mobile apps
Understanding of APIs, SDKs, microservices, and cloud computing technology
Familiarity with AWS and Docker is a plus
Experience with swift, java, java script.
Experience with mobile app frameworks such as react native, flutter, angular is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills
Passion for customer service and ownership of the customer experience including comprehensive issue resolution
Understanding of support organizations and key indicators that drive supportability
Proficient English, fluent Spanish is a big plus
Working knowledge of biometrics or identity software is ideal
Proven track record of resolving issues and risks in a cross functional and collaborative way.
Confident, and you easily build relationships when working with your customers and internal partners.
Naturally curious, eager to learn and proactive in sharing knowledge with others.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency in driving projects to completion.
