With offices in the United States, Costa Rica, Colombia and Mexico, Gorilla Logic helps clients gain competitive advantages to achieve results faster.\n\n\nMid-Level Software Engineer\n\n\nGorilla Logic is looking for a Mid-Level Software Developer with experience in Node.js, React, and Postgres to join our team in building and enhancing our client’s web application. You will collaborate with engineers in a fast-paced Agile environment, contributing to both backend and frontend development while ensuring scalable and efficient solutions. Success in this role will be measured by how well you combine problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and a strong technical foundation to drive high-quality software delivery.\n\n\nResponsibilities\n\n\n*Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using Node.js (backend) and React (frontend).\n*Implement and optimize PostgreSQL queries and database structures for performance and reliability.\n*Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.\n*Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to improve code quality and maintainability.\n*Work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, QA engineers, and product owners, to define and refine requirements.\n*Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, contributing to an efficient development process.\n*Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, bugs, and technical debt in both backend and frontend code.\n*Monitor application health and reliability, implementing scalability improvements as needed.\n*Stay up to date with new technologies, frameworks, and best practices in full-stack development.\n*Proactively identify opportunities to improve development processes and application architecture.\n*Contribute to a collaborative and learning-focused team culture.\n\n\nTechnical Requirements\n\n\n*Strong experience with Node.js and Express.js for building scalable and efficient backend services.\n*3 years of frontend development experience with React and state management libraries like Redux or MobX.\n*Experience with modern JavaScript (ES6, ES7) and TypeScript.\n*Proficiency in handling asynchronous operations, event-driven architectures, and middleware.\n*Understanding of component-based architecture, hooks, and reusable UI patterns.\n*Experience with responsive and cross-browser development.\n*Experience writing and optimizing complex SQL queries and stored procedures.\n*3+ years of experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe).\n*Strong ability to collaborate with clients and stakeholders, translating business needs into technical solutions.\n*Experience in iterative development, backlog grooming, and delivering features in a consulting capacity.\n*Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing using Jest, Mocha, Cypress, or similar frameworks.\n*Familiarity with test-driven development (TDD) and best practices for writing maintainable code.\n\n\nBonus Skills\n\n\n*Understanding of AI-assisted coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Tabnine) and their impact on software development efficiency.\n*Basic understanding of machine learning libraries and how they interact with Node.js & Python-based services.\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
