We are at the forefront of the company's licensing needs and have tremendous visibility and impact across all of Autodesk. The platform stack is complex and is integrated with the desktop as well as cloud products. In this role, you will influence the trajectory of our software systems. You will focus on improving the resiliency and scalability of the platform. You will ensure alignment with the latest industry best practices. In this capacity, you'll mentor a geographically dispersed development team, elevating the standards of engineering excellence across the board. This job will be fully remote with occasional onsite workshops/meetings. This job also might need occasional travel to APAC. Responsibilities Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gain an understanding of the current system's architecture and functionality Develop a strategic direction for the licensing platform and ensure that the tactical direction is to support the larger strategy Drive broad consensus and agreement across teams and GEOs Lead the design and implementation of scalable, maintainable software solutions Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a geographically distributed development team, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing Ensure the security, performance, and reliability of the platform Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends, incorporating them into the platform's architecture by conducting code and architecture reviews Raise the bar within the team and across the organization Partner with Product Management and Business leads regarding future platform and technology issues and the effect of decisions on all projects Create formal networks with industry and cross organizational leadership communities to develop standards, and foster platform growth Work on issues where analysis of situations or data requires and evaluation of intangibles Minimum Qualifications 10+ years of software engineering experience building large-scale distributed systems Have designed and implemented complex software systems Broad knowledge of AWS, server programming, databases, and cloud architectures Experience working with container frameworks (Docker) and container orchestration tools (AWS ECS, Kubernetes) Experience with Microservices, API architecture and management Work experience in a global and distributed environment Technology stack: Java/Spring, AWS/Containers, Go, R, and Python Learn More About Autodesk Welcome to Autodesk! For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $160,000 and $258,720. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package. Position Summary\n\nThe Sr. Staff Software Engineer influences the long-term evolution of web technology for the country’s first tech-driven healthcare staffing platform. \nResponsibilities\n\n\nDevelop features and improvements to the Nomad Health platform in a secure, well-tested, and performant way.\n\nWork with Product Management and other stakeholders (Backend, UX, etc.) to iterate on new features within the product and exert significant influence on the overall vision and long-range goals of the team.\n\nCraft code that meets our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale web environment. Maintain and advocate for these standards through code review.\n\nConsistently ship small and large features and improvements with minimal guidance and support from other team members. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on larger projects.\n\nHelp improve the overall experience of our product through improving the quality of the Frontend features both in your group and features that benefit other groups.\n\nHelp identify areas of improvements in the code base, both specific to your group and outside your group (e.g. component library) and help contribute to make it better\n\nLearn from, collaborate with, and mentor other Frontend Engineers to help them grow in their technical responsibilities and remove blockers.
