We have a team of talented Support Engineers located in 8 countries around the world, and are growing rapidly.\n\n\n\nWe are seeking Devops Support Engineers with an affinity for big-data tools.\n\n\n\nEvery day will bring new and exciting challenges on the job while you:\n\n\n* Learn and use groundbreaking technologies\n\n* Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide unique solutions to our customers' individual needs\n\n* Interact with leading technologists around the world\n\n* Work directly with Amazon Web Service architects to help reproduce and resolve customer issues\n\n* Leverage your extensive customer support experience to provide feedback to internal AWS teams on how to improve our services\n\n* Drive customer communication during critical events\n\n* Drive projects that improve support-related processes and our customers’ technical support experience\n\n* Write tutorials, how-to videos, and other technical articles for the customer community\n\n* Work on critical, highly complex customer problems that may span multiple AWS services\n\n\n\n\n\n\n* Bachelor’s degree in Information Science / Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field\n\n* 3+ years of experience in a technical position\n\n\n\n\n\n\n* Strong Linux system administrator skills\n\n* Excellent knowledge of Hadoop architecture and administration and support\n\n* Proficient in Map-Reduce, Zookeeper, HBASE, HDFS, Pig, Hive,\n\n* Python, and shell scripting; experience with Chef a plus.\n\n* Expert understanding of ETL principles and how to apply them within Hadoop\n\n* Be able to read java code, and basic coding/scripting ability in Java, Perl, Ruby, C#, and/or PHP\n\n* Experienced with linux system monitoring and analysis\n\n* Good understanding of distributed computing environments\n\n* Technology-related Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience\n\n* Excellent oral and written communication skills\n\n* Customer service experience / strong customer focus\n\n* Strong multi-tasking skills\n\n* Strong analysis and troubleshooting skills and experience\n\n* Self-starter who is excited about learning new technology\n\n* Networking (DNS, TCP/IP)\n\n* Databases (MySQL, Oracle, MSSQL)\n\n* Exposure to Virtualization (VMware, Xen, Hypervisor)\n\n* Prior working experience with AWS - any or all of EC2, S3, EBS, ELB, RDS, Dynamo DB, EMR\n\n* Exposure to security concepts / best practices\n\n* Expertise with IPsec, VPN, Load Balancing, Iperf, MTR, Routing Protocols, SSH, Network Monitoring / Troubleshooting tools\n\n* Experience managing full application stacks from the OS up through custom applications\n\n* Open to working non-standard hours (no night shifts) including a Sun-Mon or Fri-Sat weekend.\n\n\n\nAmazon Web Services is hiring.
