๐ Whatnot \n\n\nWhatnot is a livestream shopping platform and marketplace backed by Andreessen Horowitz, Y Combinator, and CapitalG. Weโre building the future of ecommerce, bringing together community, shopping and entertainment. We are committed to our values, and as a remote-first team, we operate out of hubs within the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, and Germany today.\n\nWeโre innovating in the fast-paced world of live auctions in categories including sports, fashion, video games, and streetwear. The platform couples rigorous seller vetting with a focus on community to create a welcoming space for buyers and sellers to share their passions with others.\n\nAnd, weโre growing. Whatnot has been the fastest growing marketplace in the US over the past two years and weโre hiring forward-thinking problem solvers across all functional areas. \n๐ป Role\n\nAs part of the Developer Productivity team, you will be responsible for building and enhancing the efficiency, effectiveness, and satisfaction of Whatnotโs engineering teams. Your mission includes crafting seamless workflows, automating tedious tasks, and unleashing the full potential of our talented developers.\n\n\n* Maintain an efficient CI/CD pipeline to help developers ship the software faster and safer in a structured environment.\n\n* Build local environment tooling to enable the engineering team to build and test product features swiftly and safely.\n\n* Work with the engineering team to get services deployed across different environments.\n\n* Implement and optimize developer workflow to reduce friction and increase productivity.\n\n* Providing recommendations for architecture and process improvements.\n\n\n\n๐ You\n\nCurious about who thrives at Whatnot? Weโve found that low ego, a growth mindset, and leaning into action and high impact goes a long way here.\n\nAs our next Developer Productivity Engineer, you should have 5+ years of developer productivity or similar experience, helping build scalable systems that can handle millions of users, plus:\n\n\n* Bachelorโs degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience.\n\n* Excellent developer experience instincts. You first think about engineer experience rather than the best technical solution.\n\n* Previous experience at a hyper-growth startup. Youโre a self-starter who can hit the ground running with little direction.\n\n* Prior experience in a public cloud environment (AWS, GCP) using Kubernetes, Docker, and/or Terraform.\n\n* Expert knowledge of various CI/CD workflows.\n\n* Exceptional coding skills and the ability to ship lightning-fast. We primarily use Python and Elixir, but previous knowledge of each is not required.\n\n* Excellent communication and writing skills.\n\n\n\n๐ EOE\n\nWhatnot is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. We value diversity, and we do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, parental status, disability status, or any other status protected by local law. We believe that our work is better and our company culture is improved when we encourage, support, and respect the different skills and experiences represented within our workforce. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n

๐ Please reference you found the job on Remote OK, this helps us get more companies to post here, thanks!
When applying for jobs, you should NEVER have to pay to apply. You should also NEVER have to pay to buy equipment which they then pay you back for later. Also never pay for trainings you have to do. Those are scams! NEVER PAY FOR ANYTHING! Posts that link to pages with "how to work online" are also scams. Don't use them or pay for them. Also always verify you're actually talking to the company in the job post and not an imposter. A good idea is to check the domain name for the site/email and see if it's the actual company's main domain name. Scams in remote work are rampant, be careful! Read more to avoid scams. When clicking on the button to apply above, you will leave Remote OK and go to the job application page for that company outside this site. Remote OK accepts no liability or responsibility as a consequence of any reliance upon information on there (external sites) or here.
