Our core frontend technologies include the ReactJS Javascript framework but we also utilize the Vue JS framework on particular applications, using webpack to bundle CSS, LESS or SASS and Javascript code into reusable components. A Python based REST API layer backed by a high-performance C++ back-end and proprietary database formats optimised for genetic information, provides data to our frontend stack. Our platform is entirely Linux based, hosted in Google Cloud as well as our own high-security data-centre. We follow an Agile development process, most projects will touch multiple developers across the stack, but we keep individual tasks small (3 to 5 days) to remain responsive and deliver consistently.\n\nYour main responsibility will be to deliver an integrated suite of interactive UI components. You will play a key role in their design, working with back-end developers and genetic experts, to ensure our users are able to work efficiently and accurately. Many of our consultants and representatives (Veterinarians or Veterinary Technicians) are remote as well, and you will be collaborating with them daily.\n\nWe are primarily an ASP.NET/C# Web Forms shop, with some legacy Perl and ASP code, but we are slowly making the transition to ASP.NET/C# MVC and Angular when it makes sense to do so (i.e. expect to be coding in Web Forms initially with the opportunity to work with MVC in the future).\n\nSome of the tools that we use are Visual Studio 2017, Microsoft TFS/Git 2017, SQL Server 2008 (a major upgrade is in the works), Slack, Zoom, and Redgate’s SQL Prompt and SQL Source Control.\n\nIt is important to note that VIN is mostly a flat development organization. \nCore Data has an opening for two (2) experienced senior-level C++ programmers to add to our EU-based remote work team. This work-from-home contract style position offers a full time opportunity to each developer selected for the position. Candidates selected for this position will work under a full-time independent contractor relationship with our EU-based division.\n\nC++ is the main programming language used on company projects; however, candidates are expected to be "full stack" and have experience in web APIs, web services, JSON, etc, since nearly all of our in-house applications either produce or consume web services.
