๐ Please reference you found the job on Remote OK, this helps us get more companies to post here, thanks!
When applying for jobs, you should NEVER have to pay to apply. You should also NEVER have to pay to buy equipment which they then pay you back for later. Also never pay for trainings you have to do. Those are scams! NEVER PAY FOR ANYTHING! Posts that link to pages with "how to work online" are also scams. Don't use them or pay for them. Also always verify you're actually talking to the company in the job post and not an imposter. A good idea is to check the domain name for the site/email and see if it's the actual company's main domain name. Scams in remote work are rampant, be careful! Read more to avoid scams. When clicking on the button to apply above, you will leave Remote OK and go to the job application page for that company outside this site. \nScalable Path is looking for an Expert Frontend Developer to join the team and work on a client project. This is a remote, full-time position. \n\nCLIENT COMPANY DESCRIPTION:\nThe client is one of the world's largest architecture firms. You will be working on a new website that has a stunningly beautiful design and amazingly polished user experience.\n\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nYou will be building a new, exquisitely designed website with highly complex and polished frontend interactions. Designs are nearly completed and the first version of the site is scheduled to go live in May. The most important skills needed on the project currently are strong frontend skills (HTML/CSS/JS). Initially, we may elect to build the frontend without a CMS to get it launched as soon as possible, but in the future, the client will want to have full control of the content via a CMS, so if you have backend experience with Symfony 1.x (the framework of the client’s current website) and/or Laravel (the framework we will be transitioning to) that would be a bonus and increase the likelihood that the client would enlist your services for a longer period of time to implement the custom CMS.\n\nRELATIONSHIPS - WHO YOU'LL BE WORKING WITH:\nYou will be working directly with the Interactive Design Lead at the client company along with a full-stack developer from Scalable Path who has worked on the project for many years. Detailed designs will be provided by the client's internal design team. There is an existing daily meeting at 9:00 am America/Los Angeles (-08:00) PST.\n\nREQUIRED SKILLS:\n- Excellent English communication skills\n- Deep experience building responsive websites\n- Strong JavaScript experience\n- Expert CSS\n- Experience writing semantic HTML5\n- Experience with transitions and animations related to mouse scrolling\n- Git\n\nDESIRED (NICE-TO-HAVE) SKILLS:\n- Experience with PHP (Laravel) strongly preferred\n- Experience with Symfony (version 1.x) would be nice\n- MySQL\n\nSTART DATE:\nAs soon as possible.\n\nEXPECTED CONTRACT DURATION:\nAt least 2-3 months (likely more)\n\nHOURLY RATE:\n\nThe pay rate for this role is from $30 to $50 USD per hour, depending on experience and capability. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n

\nA Different Engine is looking for a Javascript Engineer/NodeJS/MEAN stack developer who will work with our design and development teams in building tools and content management applications focused on the NodeJS and express stacks (can't say all will be mongodb backed, or have an Angular front end). Candidates should be expert JavaScript developers comfortable with advanced JavaScript concepts (knowing how to use Promises - good, understanding ES6 generators - great). Day to day responsibilities will be as primary developer and technical lead on NodeJS content management tools and projects. Ideal candidates should be able to architect and build large scale, JavaScript applications based on standard frontend Javascript tools and libraries such as Express, Angular and Backbone. We also frequently use RequireJS and Grunt so familiarity there is a plus however we're open to exploring different stacks such as Gulp or Browserify. As we expand as a team we are also adding automated testing to many of our tools and projects using tools such as Cucumber and Karma. We also do some backend development using Ruby-On-Rails so familiarity there is a plus.\n\n When not working on back-end tools we may ask you to work with some of our front-end HTML5 projects for emerging media platforms so the ideal candidate would be comfortable on both sides of the development stack. We are a client facing organization so candidates should also be comfortable speaking directly with outside clients as well as internal design teams, producers and stakeholders. \n\nA Different Engine is looking for a software craftsmen who take the vision from our design team and turns it into a reality for our clients. We are looking for folks comfortable across a variety of languages, platforms and frameworks, who can code, and get things done regardless of language. Our primary development work is done in JavaScript however we frequently need to build quick and dirty tools for our clients to host, or their existing CMS (Drupal a lot) so PHP is frequently used however we also have an affinity for frameworks such as Ruby on Rails, and Nodejs/Express when we can choose the full stack. Our projects generally are 3-6 month development projects and we maintain internal tools and frameworks to ease and speed development.\n\nWe are an interactive agency which means we build applications for our clients. Unfortunately this frequently forces us into more of a 'Waterfall' development methodology. We're trying to address this by using Agile and iterative methodologies as much as possible. From a management perspective we're looking for folks who have experience with using and adapting agile practices to less than agile projects so we're looking for candidates familiar with agile processes but able to adapt to our project realties.\n\nWhile the ideal candidate would be in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area (or NYC) we are open to remote work for the right candidate. \n\n#Salary and compensation\n
